America obviously isn't the greatest nation on Earth. Hell, I don't think there really is one-because ALL countries have their problems. No matter what political system (democratic republic, communist, w/e) and no matter who leads it will make mistakes.
The biggest thing that American citizens can do to fix our problems is to VOTE, and to vote with knowledge of who is running, and who you want to vote for. Because otherwise, you'll just be letting people get higher positions that you know you don't like, don't do anything about it, and complain about it later on.
And by the way, I'm an American (Pennsylvania to be specific) and quite happy to live here.
Oh...and the train-depot you tried to destroy?
Well all the bombs missed it and hit the church and the civilian areas instead of it...
Great aiming!
Nobody had good aim with bombs back then. Also, Germans can't complain, what with what they did to London. 30,000 people died due to the London bombing campaign. That's more than the entire population of your town.

Yeah, but that was under Nazi Doktrine... Our people suffered under the nazi regime...neighbours were being killed just because they didn't liked the Führers Mustache!
So we thought the americans are going to save us...instead they bomb civiliean areas in most parts of Germany.
All the Pilots, all the SS-Soldiers...they were all killed by the russians...So don't defend your country with the "London bombing campaign"
Yes, it was under the Nazi doctrine. The one that you guys voted for. The Nazis came into power in a completely democratic fashion, elected by the German people. I don't know why you thought we would save you from your own elected officials. The only reason we were in the war was to put an end to the atrocities committed by them.
Also, Japan bombed us. The US was still very much so doing the whole "Isolationist America" thing at that point.
Just saying that the mentality of the US as a whole was very different back then. Whether or not the Europeans wanted to view us as liberators, that was not our motivation for getting into the war. Certainly, at the outset of it, that is not how we viewed ourselves. It's definitely not how we acted, either.
As I mentioned, Isolationist America was in full swing back then. We held off on participating in WWII for a very long time precisely because it was not our problem. We gave our allies supplies, but we had no interest in actually going to war. That is, until the Japanese bombed us. Only when the war came to us did we make ourselves part of it.
We don't pretend to have acted saintly during that war. If anything, we were #2 when it came to committing atrocities, right behind the Germans. The Dresden Firebombing, the Tokyo Firebombings, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; we made little effort to come out looking like the good guys.

The london bombings were ZILCH compared to what we did to the germans. For 2 months straight, every night, we dropped more bombs on the germans in one night than they dropped in the entire war.
The RAF mostly focused on bombing bridges, it was the US that bombed cities.
I know nothing about Communism, but from what I've heard from Glenn Beck, it's pretty bad for some reason. But, once again, I know nothing about it so I cannot write an argument proving my point. To compensate for my lack of knowledge, I am going to write "No." and pass myself off as someone who thinks the matter is silly and sees himself as too superior to partake in this intelligent discussion, when in reality I am just making up for not knowing enough about my unjustified opinions.
I like making **** up on someone's opinion and make myself look right xD I LOVE STAWMAN
I love it too bro!
Now i'm wondering why I posted in this thread, its turned to horrible.
This thread has gone from a stereotype complaining about being stereotyped to a reverse pissing contest about whose country did the worst things.

Personally, I don't understand how the US bitches on about being the "Land of the free". Sometimes I see some idiotic ****, like the Cuba ****. Like, for example, if you go to the US with a Cuban Visa in your passport, you get refused entry? And then there's the whole stuff about electing an absolutely idiotic president. Frankly, I don't know what got into your heads. And then theres all the **** about Afghanistan and Iraq. Most of your politics are ********.

I believe you've got things twisted. Americans aren't allowed to go to Cuba, but Cubans are free to come here as they please.

Which president do you mean? If you mean Bush, he really wasn't that bad. Obviously not the most amazing president, but he was blamed for quite a few things that weren't even his responsibility (Katrina, for example). But if you mean Obama, he's only been in office for what, a year now? Give it time.

You realize we're not the only country there, correct? Canada, France and I believe Britain all have troops there as well. And besides, we're basically completely pulled out of Iraq. Once again, give it time (although we WERE there for a pretty long time). Oh, and every country's politics are ********. That's nothing new.
The only reason you keep looking for skeletons in the closet of America is because it is one of the "great" countries.
In fact it is mostly bias from other countries. If its your opinion about America, you are entitled to it, but keep in
mind that in some countries, you cant let your opinion be heard now?
They would punish you for expressing yourself on that!
America is however, indeed one prideful country. However, this is because its simply human to be "a douche" at the top (and some have been bigger jerks about it in the past...).
And its human to hate those at the top, because don't you want to be there? Now, there are some actual flaws, but if you help America fix them (you can) instead of attacking them on them, you would get respect yourself now?
You can continue ranting and raving about how America is the worst country on the planet and why it sucks, but i hope you realize that America allows you to express your opinion, unlike some countries...
Just wanted to get that off my chest.

One day, there will be someone who looks at my signature and wonders "who gives a damn?"
I'm American and I'm afraid of the potential stupid decisions that could be made by our leaders that make other nations mad and wipe us off the planet.
Having said this, I still take pride in my country but I will stand by the fact that we aren't that big of a worldwide superpower than we think.

Its like going to a police station telling them how you stole a purse and demonstrating it, while arguing the benefits of it. You'd still go to jail because you're an idiot.
You want to know why we're hated?
We're generally very ignorant about the world (most people here could not tell you where Afganastan is on a map), very arrogant (We act like we're the world police) and because we have had our image ruined by people like George W Bush.
It might be shocking to some here but we're really not the best nation ever. The sooner we accept that fact the better we are in terms of world relations.
^What Hiiragi said. It also feels like whenever another country has some sort of tragedy or war, we need to get involved. How about we fix OUR problems before trying to fix another country's problems?

lolno. Communism is an idea that on paper, works great. But in real life, it never does.
