Before anyone trolls, yes, I did do a search, and I found only one really relevant thread, which has been dead for 2 months and I'm pretty that puts it in the necrothreadia category of the rules...
I was just wondering which webcomics people read, and why? For example, I like my friends comic SouthBrook because it's showing signs of improving artistry and promises some interesting plot, more along the lines of realistic life although it's done with anthropomorphic characters. I also read Penny-Arcade because I like the intelligent humor and wit, and the comments that go along with each comic. VGCats and was interesting when it updated more frequently, and I love Super-Effective because of how well it's drawn and the pokémon references... I also read Dilbert, because it's funny and it's something I know will be updated every single day. Oh, and GunnerKrigg Court, because it's awesome.
I'm something of a webcomic buff.
My favorites are probably Rice Boy - a completed surreal fantasy comic with charming art and a gripping plot Nintendo Super Squad - an over-the-top parody of stupid webcomics that use Nintendo characters. Don't be put off by the seemingly stupid author comments, it's a persona. Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth started as a shitty gag-a-day comic, and grew into a drop-dead hilarious story-driven comic with some real characters, and really nice art for something made in model viewer. It ended because Fargo ended up getting hired by Blizzard themselves. Three Panel Soul's not always gold, but the art is cute. LFG is a good fantasy comic with excellent art, even if Sohmer is a complete douche. The Perry Bible Fellowship is absolutely classic. Girly is funny as hell. It's a surreal adventure-comedy-thing (with lesbians), and it's got great art. At least, it does now, anyway-- The early comics have this shitty pseudo-anime style that just sucks. Don't try to keep up with the plot, the characters themselves are what's important.
LFG I've been reading for three years now, and some of my friends read it too :smile.gif:
It's fun to browse through these comics and see what's interesting and what just doesn't catch with me... Oh, one major one I forgot is subnormality, and the other comics hosted on the site. Also, Better Days by JayNaylor is pretty interesting... I hated a lot of it at first, but it grew on me and now I love it. Still don't know why...
But yeah, thanks for the links, this'll keep me busy for a while :biggrin.gif: Also, I forgot to mention, Southbrook is my friend's comic and right now is getting up and running (still a good 40ish pages of it so far), so it doesn't have a big following... But hopefully people will find interest in it.
Brawl in the family is fun, but there's something about his style that strikes me as childish. Not that it's immature or unpolished, but sometimes, just because of his strange way of writing, it looks like it was literally made by a child.
Anything he makes involving Waluigi is great, though.
