Nah, I just don't enjoy getting into them. It makes me angry, but I usually resolve them when not in them myself.
It's always a MW2 debate or something, and I just go in there saying, "It's all opinion and playstyle. MW2 is for those point and shoot, arcade twitch people, and Battlefield is for those think, shoot, squad, strategy people."
Heated discussions tend to go downhill into flames and insults, usually.
I tend to razzle dazzel people with solid scientifically accurate facts.
They reply with a "**** you" :tongue.gif:
But yeah, I love arguing with people depending on the topic. As long as it stays away from a flame fest. But yeah, its always fun to talk about philosophy with people who share similar or opposing views that always makes things interesting.

HλLF A LIFE
(My works: Art, Music, MINECRAFT and other stuff)
When someone is wrong I try to correct them. This is a vague rule however and can be applied as seen fit. If it is a discussion with a smart person I am much more likely to oppose them. If it is a post like "I THINK MINECRAFT SHOD HAVE A OOLOT OF BLOD AND FIINAL BOSES" I probably won't get involved.
If I have an opinion on a subject, I state it. If I think someone else's opinion statement desreves to be commented on, I do so. If someone argues with my stated position on the subject, I go into ragemode and argue hopelessly like a limbless baskeball player on an empty court by proving the opposition wrong if able.
That's how I feel about the subject, anyway.
My discussions in real life tend to play out the same way. This is why my teachers hate me. :sad.gif: They think I'm disagreeing but I'm just trying to show them that they're terribly idiotic. It's their own fault they get all defensive and whip out the pen-and-punishment-slip.
I never really enjoyed arguments online seeing as how I'm a lover, not a fighter, so I have no arguments to rebuttal with, all I really say is "NOT TRUE". Yeah, I'm pretty sad. There are those times though where you just HAVE to argue, 'cause you know they're saying something stupid and obviously wrong, or they're just pushing the boundaries a bit too far.
You'd really have to outline "arguing". Does that have a negative implication, like that the arguers are both arguing angrily? If an argument in this case is just a discussion from two conflicting perspectives, that's fine. If you are implying that the people involved are mad while doing so, it goes downhill and turns into what I imagine most people here would consider an argument - with that anger negatively affecting the actual content of the otherwise acceptable discussion.
No one wins in an argument, one just comes out slightly less offended than the other.
To be completely honest I don't think I could categorize simply arguing into "fun", "rage-inducing" or "special Olympics". When it comes right down to it an argument is just a discussion pertaining to to a subject that one or more parties involve in the discussion do not agree on some aspect of, and to simply place such a transaction into one of these categories would be like trying to categorize a discussion where one person knows more about the subject than the other or a discussion where one party is not telling the truth about their opinion on the matter into one of these categories.
I don't think certain conditions present during a discussion can place it into any category. If I'm discussing something I like, I might be happy. On the other hand if I am discussing something I dislike the discussion may induce rage. Discussions are an activity which is fundamental to human culture, asking to categorize them seems like asking to categorize walking. If you're walking towards a place you dislike, sure it might not be too fun. But if you're walking to somewhere you like(and aren't impatient, I guess) it's not really a problem.

real minecrafters are attracted to rana and bookcases
I love telling people why they're ignorant. I generally win, too, so I can't say I relate. :3
I do this from time to time. There havn't really been too many topics that I've felt are worth it on this forum, I much prefer religious arguments. (And not the typical HURRDURR UR DUM AN STOOPID FOR BEREEVING IN GAWD)
Also, so long as it doesn't turn into "UR A DUM ******" and other such things, I'm all for arguments because usually both sides can learn a thing or two from each other.
