Have you ever had any kind of merry go round life experience?
The ones that made you realized that the initial event was actually the better one.
I believed that internet socializing is with without a depth. But I did so, I wrote poems filled with gibberish in MMOs. To my surprise, other players responded with their own poetic and intriguing verses, it was at that time when I felt so connected, with another human being.
As I explored different MMORPGs, I realized they have less or zero moderation since their playerbase are competitive in nature. The community were crazy, they were exchanging insults and vulgarities, it sounded hateful, but we found joy in expressing our true selves without filters.
When I returned to real life, socializing became stressful and painful. Meetups were cancelled, and some people would be late or not show up at all. We pretended that we liked each other to avoid offending anyone, but when those difficult moments comes, the walls crumble, and we realized we are just playing a game of pretense.
Now that I returned to simple games and apps like minecraft, discord and youtube. I realized all those real life socializing have been draining me of money, time and emotional energy.
Life have been a merry go round for me. I discovered that what I initially considered meaningless internet socializing turned up to be the most impactful experiences that have shaped me into the kind of person I want to be.
