This is such a nebulous question that any answer is valid. What criteria are you using?
Is it fun? Depends on how you play it and with whom!
Is it well-designed? Arguably no, but it works regardless which is what matters.
Does it sell well? I mean... duh! Obviously!
Is it visually beautiful? Sometimes, and it varies based on Resource Pack and shaders being employed.
"Good" is such an immensely subjective and value-driven idea. It's all opinion. There isn't really even good ground for discussion since what one person values another person wishes had never been added. Everyone has their own ideal version of Minecraft that exists in their own minds. How "good" the real version is just depends on how close to that imaginary perfect version it is.
We all play it, but do we ever think about how good it is?

Minecraft was really bad when I started playing, I think it might even be beta back then, and it might even be playable for free.
Because I thought you need friends to play minecraft, so it was a boring and plain experience back then.
Now I know minecraft is perfectly fine to play solo, but the minecraft realms do help people to find more friends though.
