on weekdays I finish school then go on a walk or tidy up or something, eat lunch then go on a electronic device for the rest of the day. on weekends I wake up at like 7 am to watch a movie, then eat breakfast and go onto a computer for the rest of the day, stopping for lunch and then carry on until 8 pm then watch more movies
Boy that takes me back. I remember long ago that my parents tried (this was pre-tablet days) to give me half an hour of screentime with a timer. I think about the only thing I did on the computer was look up Lego instructions or play The Incredible Machine 3 probably lol. They gave up not long after.
The problem was that they were (and still are) way more addicted to screens than I am.
yeah... My older sister only got 30 mins with a timer, and she was only allowed either educational games or non install games... And that must have been torture, coz at that time I couldn't used computers, so when I could I got two hours. Then we slowly faded into 8-10 hours and here I am making YT vids on minecraft.
Personally, I am a parent myself . I do not allow my children to play on the computer. Let them play outside, play sports and enjoy life. I do not understand what is the point of showing them the computer from childhood.
It's not good to totally isolate them from technology; I trained my kid from an early age in IT as I'm a 30 year IT veteran myself. The key is to not let them turn into the kids who sit there all day playing games and getting fat, lol. Society is very tech integrated, so it's good for them to have skills going into adult life.
