I remember I started playing Minecraft in the summer of 2011. I haven't really touched it in any significant capacity since 2015 due to losing my account, and never managing the interest to get it back.

Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
I remember I first heard of minecraft right before the version where the nether was added in alpha, forget what year it was exactly, i just remember one day watching a video of someone playing and they talked about the nether being new and stuff.
As for the forums, i joined nearly 10 years ago, in 2012. Genuinely forget why i joined other than just wanting to talk about the game with some people. Lowkey really sad to see this place not be nearly as active as it once was, but hey, things come, things go, thats just how life is.
Sad to see the steady decline of the forum over the years while Minecraft as a whole has gotten even more popular than before.
I'm been mostly on Planet Minecraft for the past few years, which is where most of the community seems to be at. The off-topic discussions there are quite active too.

That made me check the PMC forums out again and I noticed the last post I made was 7 years ago. And the ones before that 9 years ago lmao. I didn't know it was still active, or even ever.
Planet Minecraft is just as dead as far as I can see; I don't care about off-topic, but discussion about the actual game, which nobody seem to care about anymore (I see threads active a week ago on the first page of the discussion for Java Edition); for all I know Mojang is making up their numbers when they claim that 100+ million regularly play. Even Reddit seems to be slower than usual lately, not that I care much about it since there is almost never any real discussion and I never even see anything I comment on again unless somebody replies to me (how does one even find anything on Reddit; nobody spends any time scrolling down to see older posts, and forget about long-running discussions, like Survival journals, which are an extinct genre).
This has also led me to play more than ever to fill in the time I'd otherwise spend online discussing the game; I've already racked up 18 days of playtime on a world I started in late January (a world that I thought would spark more interest given the unique content in my own modded version - the now dead journal (if I can even be bothered to post more updates) I started for it had only one reply in 3 months, a couple posts I made on Reddit didn't do much better, especially compared to a mediocre build like this - both of these cases also shows just how little is known about my playstyle or mods; somebody actually thought I was showing vanilla 1.6.4 world generation when TMCW is as far from it as 1.18 is (only some of the basic rules, like random biome placement, apply); likewise, somebody else thought I was playing in 1.18 as they said I ought to place lecterns to reroll trades until I got Mending, even though it would have been clear that wasn't the case if they actually read the thread).
Also, IMO the forum admins are largely at fault for never actually fixing any of the issues plaguing the forums, with the final killing blow being the mass spam which they simply "solved" by hiding offending links, but not the posts themselves, including removing any notifications triggered by them (I see like 10 notifications but nothing is actually listed) - I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they are shut down soon as literally 99% of new posts/members are spam/spammers (they don't even bother deleting them regularly anymore, the latest news article has week old spam).
I'm hurt.
Well they say sometimes, life is pain. \o/
i just ended up with way too many guns, half-finished whiskey bottles, and a dog
what do you do with those guns 😳😳😳😳
mmm
pretty much spend lots of money to put different sized holes in paper at different distances.
started playing late 2012, do i qualify for the veterans discount?
I first started playing Minecraft in August 2012. No regrets!

"Always drunk." - Nights

"[INSULT] [INSULT] [INSULT]." - Sparky
"He's adorable." - Leere
"¯\_(ツ)_/¯" - Digits

I have been meaning to join the Planet Minecraft forums but just never got around to it.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I'm still around, though, I don't know if I will continue to post here - or if my coming about here is yet another temporary visit.
I've been playing sinve 2011, but pirated alpha minecraft ( I was just 9 back then)
Do I get a veteran discount for this?
Here's my minecraft timeline:
2011 I create my first survival world, then die to a zombie and delete it
I quit minecraft
2012 I come back to minecraft, I play a bit and discover pocket edition
I make a (java) server , a survival world and many creative worlds half of which in pe
2013 I play more on my server, then my friends disappear
I delete my server
My phone breaks
Pc corrupts but somehow the windows folder survives
2014-2020 I play some more on bedrock, but now on my tablet
2021 I quit minecraft again
2022 I come back to minecraft again
I play on an argentinian server I liked
2023 I install java again and make another creative world
I let a nigerian friend play on my java account (I migrated it and signed in)
I get banned
My bedrock account gets hacked and banned by my bro for no reason
I create account on the forums
To be continued???

There is too much debate over what qualifies one as a veteran so I would rather not comment.
You're clearly one of the oldest players here...
