I got windows 10 on my pc. I hope to never use windows 11 after a friend of mine got a prebuilt with 11 on it and almost immediately got locked out. Dude straight up got locked out of his own computer that he just bought...
I now use Windows 11 and I can honestly say it has been a substantial upgrade from what I had before, and while it takes some getting used to, when you're there you notice the difference almost straight away, and there have been benchmarks made by other people proving that apps are generally faster with this OS due to the way it handles software, I'm not a programmer but I have seen evidence that it is indeed quicker than Windows 10.
Yes it does use a lot of memory but I am sure there is a good reason for it this time, you want your most used applications to respond faster so it makes sense for them to remain in cache. I have noticed some negatives, occasional crashes which wouldn't often happen on Windows 10 and didn't on my current PC, but those will be patched in future updates.

worst os 100%
except for chromeos which will always be ****
1. No break from telemetry
2. Mac can’t run exe files so 90% of all apps are off limits
3. Costs a whole lot more
4. Performance not found in any mac. Expect a potato-mid tier computer.
Worst only because of the restrictions on what software can be used on an Apple device
But Microsoft should be taking notes from Linux distros of OS's, as they tend to be very efficient on memory usage
Windows 11 was criticized for its excessive use of RAM on idle time
Are they purposefully slowing down people's PC's just to force them to upgrade hardware more often than they should need to?
because the way they are designing their operating systems is lending credence to the allegation that they do planned obsolescence, something which Apple is often accused of doing.
Lol. Yeah fun story my friend used to have a mac and to play mc with me he had to get a windows emulator + dual boot going.
Macs are high grade performance computers for work and school, they don't shed an eye to casual or serious home use when windows and linux distros are there.

Whichever you go with, Mac or Windows, both companies in ownership of them have done shady things over the years
Apple might try to justify the restrictions on what apps can be used on their platform with it being for security purposes, but they lose customers.
I'm not saying any Apple computer is bad mind you, but having to use an emulator to run a popular program is a problem in its own right.
I'm not saying Microsoft haven't done similar things to this over the years, even their backwards compatibility feature isn't perfect either, but at least they have WOW64 which enables 32bit applications to function normally on a 64bit Windows OS.
Not every program needs to use more than 2gb of RAM, in fact many don't and that includes the media player app I use called Media Monkey, which doesn't even use anywhere near this much RAM while playing back 1440p resolution videos made by Windows Gamebar on my gaming PC.

Yeah that's the reason I still use xp in 2023 (even though I have a windows 10 vm for running the games that can't run on xp lol)
Linux. Now that the Steam proton has been thoroughly refined, I don't feel like I'm losing out on anything in terms of gaming. On my personal computers, I've been using a mix of Ubuntu, Mint, and Endeavour (based on Arch).

Update: Accidentally deleted both vm and .iso image, so guess I'm not playing ksp anymore... if I knew where to find them with product key included, I would be very pleased (I didn't actually make my vm, it was made by a friend who had a spare copy)
