I have made a similar thread before, but this is more about if you would chioose it. Consider being given a choice to gain the following properties:
You, and only you (nobody else in this thread), will never die. Yes, that means you can't kill yourself.
Anything that would usually hurt or kill you simply doesn't affect you. You are immune to disease, you cannot burn, you can breathe underwater, a knife cannot pierce your skin, nor can a gun, a falling building would rest on you like a pillow, etcetera.
You stop aging completely, and are forever left at the age you are now.
Would you choose to walk this path? What would you do with your power?
Personally, I would become a superhero. Maybe not a 'superhero', but I would definitely work towards the betterment of the world.

I'm quite conflicted over whether or not to choose this path. It would cause quite a problem when the sun ultimately burns earth and then dies into a white dwarf...as would there arise a problem when the universe comes to an end. What would happen to me then?
If the world remained as is for as long as I would exist then I'm sure I'd certainly choose immortality. I'd probably first use the power to excel in the military, and would take the most dangerous jobs and duties since I would be immune to everything the enemy had.
Why not? I can always talk to aliens to kill me when the time is right.
I would think they'd rather study you for scientific purposes. Try to figure out immortality, test the limits of your invulnerability, etc.
As for whether I'd accept this immortality, I'll have to decline. If I could die when I choose to, I would, but as I cannot do that I'll pass.
But then again there is the losing consciousness thing DaBomb mentioned...
Hm.
Perhaps I'll have to think about it a bit more.

"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce; We will send unto them... only you."

Couldn't do it. Imagine watching every person you love die, then you finally meet someone amazing down the line, and you have to watch them age and die out of your life. It'd honestly be the worst hell I could imagine to be immortal.

And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.

In a heartbeat. Just let me get a couple of bits of corrective surgery before I become impervious to scalpels
I'd spend the first few years entirely selfishly. Hanging out with friends, going to festivals and concerts, travelling the world, doing all the dangerous and scary stuff I avoid now. After that, I'd have a go at vigilantism/superheroing. And when I was bored of that I'd try to interfere for the better in politics. Firstly local, then national, then international.
Once everyone I've ever cared about is dead, I'd volunteer for helping with the space programme. My ability to not die would be invaluable during testing. And in the extremely long term I'd probably end up the one constant crewmember in a generation ship to the next star over.
Even if humanity survived for another billion years, what about the next quintillion years? Humanity's existence would eventually be a blink of an eye. Even if you found another race, what about the end of the universe (if there is one)? Just a thought.

If I had a chance at immortality, I'd turn it down. Sure, immortality would be fun at first; you could launch yourself off buildings and swim to the depths of the ocean that no mortal human could reach. However, it would all pass quickly. I'd be forced to watch loved ones die, and eventually humanity itself. Even when the universe ends, or even the multiverse, should that time come, I'd be the only one that remains. Floating in an infinite limbo blacker than the voids of space. I'd be forced to remain for all eternity, my regret of accepting immortality growing with every passing day.

Presumably the people who gifted you with immortality also have it themselves. And I doubt we'd be the only recipient...
Yeah, I would choose immortality. I would just continue my life, though I may do some things I would have never done before just because there will be virtually no consequences.

Yep. When it all ends I can just throw myself into space and freeze myself. I'm assuming it's still possible to lose conciousness, right?
3. Because I'd rather not be a 200 year old great-great
Galdalfgrandad.- C.C.
Nope. All things must pass, including myself.
You can just call me Canary.
How not to look like a total fool in the forum games
No you can't.
Condition 1 is that you cannot and will not ever die. Ever. Who knows what will happen when the universe itself dies before you? O.o
Oxymoron of the week

Not once all of Humanity is dead except for you.

Yes. Race-hopping and watching species pass before your eyes would be amazing.

I seriously doubt the multiverse will ever end.

I'd totally be immortal.
