The things that I found something stupid at school is that someone left the toilet unflushed, not knowing what would be the consequences. Not only that, I even notice that someone had left the remaining garbage at the top of the wall-mounted (not to be confused with window-mounted) aircon in which the teacher NOTICED it when she told us to clean our classroom because it looks dirty as if we are in a pigpen.
Teachers were allowed to cut ahead of us in line at the middle school I went to, and when they did they usually spent minutes at a time chatting it up with the lunch ladies during our forty minute lunch break. If you were unlucky enough to make it to the lunchroom late and end up near the back of the line, that forty minute lunch break would easily turn into only five minutes to eat your food after trying to find a place to sit down. Meanwhile, teachers were allowed to eat in their classrooms at any time during the school day - when they weren't giving us lessons and letting us work on assignments.
I thought it was stupid that the computer technology class taught RPG, COBOL and Fortran. Would've been much more useful to teach C++, Java and some sort of .NET language.
The water fountains are just as bad, the water is almost never cold and in fact it is always room temperature water. There's water fountains all over the school and only 1 actually works the way it supposed to, in the locker rooms for PE there is a water fountain and it leaks so water is constantly running into the drain somehow.
I went to grab a drink earlier this year at a fountain. It seemed to be a bit better than the other fountains around the institution as this one as it actually had some pressurized water. However, when I began to drink, I immediately spat it out as it was absolutely disgusting. Even worse, is when I looked back at the water coming from the fountain, I saw that it was very cloudy (almost opaque).
Teachers that put opinionated questions on a test and grade us for it.

It once happened to me the answer was that that question did not have an answer,so i got it incorrect even when the answer was obvious it couldn't be taken out from his method.
I hate when they take a tiny error of you and make a big mess, once a teacher didn't want to give me the A+ on a perfect test because i didn't bring my homework to class and i was sick the day before.
Also when they ask students something and if they answer incorrectly they grades go down, and only take the ones they know they don't even know even if they made the homework.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move
I actually don't believe in evolution, but I know what it is.
Think it like this:
*They are asking what the theory states NOT what you think so either if you believe or not, learning it is important.

They said when I was talking about the theory "that's just your opinion man" to which I responded "I don't actually believe in it". So it wasn't my opinion, I was only talking about what I believe in because he said it was my opinion.
And I did learn it, that's why this conversation started, I corrected a false piece of information that slightly bugged me.
Don't you all realize that debating evolution doesn't change people opinions on it? Please don't make this thread devolve into a giant religeous debate...that would just be sad......and kinda fiery because everyone gets all worked up over the issue.....
Everyone give it a rest, it is ultimately pointless to discuss it here. If you guys still really feel super strong about it, put it in another thead.
No we're not having a religious debate, we are talking about the theory itself, like how it works. I'm not a religious person at his throat and he isn't looking down at me, I don't believe in evolution but I have researched it and apes are descended for monkeys, I'm simply correcting him.
"Dear other students! I am yelling at this student. I need to speak loud and let everyone know about it! No, I can't pull this kid off to the side and have a quieter chat about what he did! I have to let the entire world know!"

At the risk of this veering off into PPSN, I recently read in the paper that my city is building schools, sorry, 'agile learning environments', with 'barista bars', 'nooks' and 'collaborative learning spaces' with 'unoccupied spaces where students (sic) can mingle'. When did school become so ridiculously social? Being in 5th form myself this year, the idea of pupils 'learning' by looking at their laptops randomly sitting on a 'focal point staircase' or 'collaborating' in an oddly shaped room is greatly off-putting.

Fair enough, I just freaked out because the evolution debate has some very deep religeous roots, and I really didn't want them to be uprooted at this time. I just notice that the argument often ends with a fiery religious debate, and I was super worried it would spread here.
OT:
I hate the severe lack of funding. My class couldn't do the same projects the previous class did, and nobody cared about anything.
My school wasn't as bad as many other places in the US, but is really wasn't that good either. One school in our district got a majority of the funding, while we got very little. I just stunk.

I'm glad my English Teacher isn't like that (at least not most of the time and in extreme situations), he properly takes the student outside the class to talk to them. But he did once interrupt my literary device presentation to mock one of the students. But at least in the most interesting way possible using sarcasm and irony, which were a part of my literary device presentation (lol).
But I hate it the most when one students messes up so badly whether on purpose or intentional and everyone ends up getting blamed for it.
Whenever a certain group of the whole class in trouble but never learns. It's the worst that when the punishment is happening (having to write a paragraph on why we're in trouble or something) and then that group of people starts talking again.
In 6th class we had a substitute teacher who would eat croissants during class. She also gave 5th class 5 pages of maths homework whereas she only gave us like a page or something.

The solution?
Humiliating him with a complete row of A+ through the complete year.

Don't forget that if a student corrects them or proves them wrong they do this. They say "oh my mistake, thank you Jimothy" with a slightly annoyed look on their face, then hands out tons of homework and acts like it was planned all along.

Oh my gooooddd... Why? Nobody cares. You're just gonna make the students feel more uncomfortable.

I've never experienced this. Wouldn't most pupils in the same class know each other? Or is this for university?
