Oh gosh, I'd love to answer this question, I love walking and exploring and know my neighborhood from heart.
There's this little hidden fort, stairs are made out of sticks, tables are made out of sticks, and there's archways made of sticks, and there's even a sewer pipe that makes it look like a waterfall lining up with the pond under it. although the chairs are just plain cheap white plastic chairs but I'm guessing that's a work in progress.
There's a really nice park with a beautiful stone dam and bridge. Right next to the main entrance of the park (although there's a lot more than one entrance) there's a pizza place, royal farms, and frozen yogurt and custard place. There's also some apartments and houses near me that my friends live and we can meet up very easily without driving, we prefer walking anyway.
There's also a shopping area that includes a wallgreens, subway (the restaurant), starbucks, a pizza place, chinese place, organic market, and some clothing shops and hair salons - and the main view is the man-made quarry lake, looks beautiful. Although if you visit the place too much you get a bit sick of it lol.
There's also a school that has a really beautiful hill and flat area, not to mention the standard baseball and kickball courts that every school has. It's really nice in the summer, you can just sit there and relax, it gets really hot though and there's not much trees, and where there are trees the trees are gigantic and block out the sun.
There's also a really long hiking area where my sister forced me to jog with her once, it was basically a 10 mile circle.
But yeah, I'm sure there's more I forgot to list, I guess the last one that I can think of from the back of my head is a house that gets overly decorated so much around hanukkah that it's name is literally hanukkah house, it even says it on google maps.
So yeah, heh. Thanks for taking the time to reading this, guess I kind of dozed off a little.
As someone who don't mind a long walk, I've got as many restaurants as I'd ever need. There's also a handful of clothes stores and even a movie theater all within a 10, maybe 15 minute walk. Seems like it would be quite a busy town, and with about 55,000 people in it, I'd imagine I would feel slightly crowded. But nope, it's still a close little town and the population doesn't even feel that high.
There is also a fairly large golf course and many parks around - just looking at a map of the town makes me surprised at how many green blotches there are.
