I used to be fairly good at Ghosts, with a 1.276 K/D. Ever since I reached third Prestige, I've been progressively getting worse. I've barely been able to get one kill since the start of February, and my K/D keeps dropping. Right now, it's at 1.266. It's gotten to the point that I feel amazing if I can get a support SAT COM with Hardline on.
What I'm looking for is a strategy or class that'll help me get better and improve my K/D.
Here's my current class:
FAD with Tracker Sight and Muzzle Brake
M9A1
C4
No tactical
Sleight of Hand, Stalker, Focus, Steady Aim
I generally play with a hybrid defensive/rushing playstyle. I'll sit in one place and wait. If no one comes, I start running around the map to find someone. But either way, every single person I find outguns me, with next to no exceptions.
Please, don't suggest hacking. I want to get better, not get banned.
Also, I won't quickscope or dropshot. I'm against those kinds of playstyles.

Play defensive. If I'm with a good team, we'll usually hold up in a building, with some at a door, and some in the windows. It really works in CoD since everybody loves to run and gun mindlessly.
But when I play like that I usually get like two deaths. And sometimes I just lurk around spots people don't usually look in. There always seem to be a certain "battle area" in the map where everyone goes to. I just hide around the outskirts of it and sneak kills.
For me, I stick to the outsides of the maps. Doing so, you'll have less people shooting at you, than you would running towards the middle of the maps. Sticking towards the outsides of the maps also gives you a better chance to run from someone who maybe in the middle of the map. You can also pick off the enemies that are in the middle of the map, too. I'd try that, and see what you can do there. Also, try using the Honey Badger. That's a nice gun to use.
Why do people actually hate on Call of Duty? Yeah, the game attracts a lot of 10 year old kids who will often throw insults about his sexual relations with your mother. The game is actually pretty good. I enjoyed most of the campaigns, and the online on CoD1 was amazing.
Because I actually don't find it very good. For the last 3-4 iterations the game has hardly changed and the things that did change are actually worse than the previous CoD games in some cases. The last CoD game that I actually enjoyed was MW2, and I haven't actually completed any campaign from the series since then.
Battlefield 4 and Titanfall are going to slowly help kill of the CoD franchise, in addition to the damage that it's doing to itself.

It's mostly because of how generic and unchanging the game is. There is really nothing new or unique being done; every installment follows the same formula and mechanics. It's fun to play sometimes, but the lack of original content quickly makes it boring.

There you go! I was having troubles playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 after borrowing it from a friend and then I realised playing

was much better.

Nah, just move tactically and you'll be fine.
Unless you're a Machinima Director, :P.

Just use guns that suit you, and give yourself an advantage before a fight.
Halo does this with frags, CoD does this with flashbangs and such.
