i never owned a game cube but your saying the ps2 was the best design for a console of that gen lol it was an ugly brick and i think gen 6 is by far the most ugly home console systems looked (the system themselfs not the games) but i respect the game cube i think this was the system that showed N to do something new and that there name does not save them (neither does mario) so they made the wii an awful system but it did something new
plus if you look at the sales it didnt do that bad
dream cast: 11 million
game cube: 22 million
xbox: 24 million
ps2: 155 million
so ya the ps2 destroyed but the game cube was only 2 million off of the xbox

Oh man, the GameCube. I remember getting one during my childhood, and over a few years, I expanded my collection of GameCube games. Super Smash Bros. Melee is probably one of the best additions (although I quickly grew to Brawl and will grow attached to the next Smash Bros. once it comes out). Super Mario Sunshine and The Legend of Zelda (Wind Waker and Twilight Princess) were pretty good additions as well. I also enjoyed Star Fox Adventures (despite its similarities to LoZ). I still have the GameCube, but if I play GameCube games, I'll play them on the Wii.
I only played on my grandparent's Gamecube, I would always play Metroid Prime, Sonic Adventure DX director's cut and some of the Tony Hawk games.
I'm luck to have one of the Wii models that can play GC games, I'm thinking I should try to get Sonic Adventre DX: DC, I just had so much fun roaming and messing with the chao .
Super Smash Brothers Melee
-It was simply brilliant and amazing. I would play hours on end to unlock all characters. Playing the game really made me a Nintendo nerd. I also like how they had trophies which explained the origins of different characters.
Animal Crossing
-Loved it!! I ended up clearing out my memory card just to play it.
Star Fox: Command
-There was two Star Fox games on the GameCube, I mostly played the one with the purple female Star Fox.
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
-I played it when I was like 10 or 11, but I just remember that it was simply amazing. Great story structure.
I'm at work and using a cell phone so I can't explain much or add more.

Message me yours if you want to trade in Animal Crossing: New Leaf or just need some friends to play with. I can also do Pokemon trades in Pokemon X(or Y), but I don't have any good stuff, and the only good stuff I have is not for trade so...send me requests anyway.

It was a great console for what it did, and it did what it did very, very well. The controller was well designed (near flawless), the first and third party titles were outstanding and the continuation of the "play our handheld games on our console, too!" was a nice surprise (with the Super GBA attachment). It did support online play as well, but admittedly it didn't do it as well as the Xbox did.
While some people loved to bash on how it looked and that it didn't play DVDs or CDs, it wasn't made to do so. Nintendo's philosophy for the Gamecube was for it to be a gaming console, not a multimedia device. While that did somewhat change for the Wii with the advent of the Internet Channel and Netflix, for the Gamecube that's what sold it for a lot of people. It was decently priced, most of the games were kid-friendly and good for socializing (while still keeping the hardcore audience) and best of all, it gave us some of the best games of that generation. Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball, Phantasy Star's continuation and many, many more.
All in all it was a great console for its time. Nowadays it doesn't hold a candle to any of the newer consoles but for its generation it was a damn good device that competed with the Xbox and PS2 with graceful ease.

I loved the Chao in Sonic Adventure 2. They need to make a comeback someday.
Don't you mean StarFox Adventures? (or Assault; I don't know which one you're talking about) Because StarFox Command was for the Nintendo DS...
