Playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Alone. In the dark. Everyone's a tough guy when they have a shotgun. If all you can do is run away when a monster finds you, it's much scarier.
As a kid I played Rayman 3, in the Desert of the Kanaaren, as I kid it scared the out of me so much that at the time it felt like playing Amnesia, when I replay that game today it still gives me the chills. BRRRRRRR

The Dollhouse and especially the Dollmaker's Lair or whatever it's called in Madness Returns. Ignoring the fact that it's the hardest part of the game, it's got some very creepy parts
The part in Batman Arkham Asylum where you get knocked out and there is the static. I was playing it on my old Xbox (don't use it anymore though really), and it's disc drive had been acting up a bit, so it was like "oh... there goes 300 dollars", and I turned it off. Tried it again later and saw that it was just a cutscene.
Ravenholm from Half Life 2 when it was released. It was really the only level that kept my interest. I didn't like much of the rest.
They really did a good job at keeping a creepy atmosphere rather than focusing on jump scares.
Yea i also loved all the traps that you could utilise in Ravenholm, was a good level.
Probably at the point of my favorite horror game (Outlast) and i walked into a kitchen only to be attacked by a guy jumping out of nowhere with a distorted face.
That game has a lot of jump scares, but that was the highlight of them.
In Oblivion when you steal the Elder Scroll for the Thieves Guild, I was so nervous the entire time. When I finally got it and went into an unrestricted part of the white-gold tower, like 12 guards all said "Hail" at once. I nearly died.
mine was seeing my friend play waw nazi zombies when it first came out like 6 years ago

"good night, good luck" -dying light
i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
1st was good, 2nd was decent and then it went downhill from there

What about Guilty 343 Spark in Halo:CE on Legendary.
I remember being playing that level when I was younger. Every time a Flood jumped at me from no where I would scream and empty my AR into a wall... I still hate that level today.
Mine is when I ran into those baddies in the underground in Assassin's Creed 3, I nearly pooped myself
They've found something ma'am, something beneath the storm.

That one got me too
They've found something ma'am, something beneath the storm.
I was literally frozen in shock for a few seconds.
I have done that so many times I'm not even being serious.

For other scares? The level Cortana in Halo 3 on Legendary Difficulty comes to mind.

Being underwater in old 3D games really bothers me.
I guess you could say I peed
