You say that you need more ideas? Well, the first thing that comes to mind for me is to add things from the end like you did the nether (pigmen-endermen, glowstone-endstone). Another thing if you wanted to add more other than blocks and enemies, you could aim for bringing something similar to enchanting. Maybe you have to buy an enchantment first, before you can apply it? That would add upgrades to pickaxes for people to buy, once they have more money than they can spend. Its a great game, very addicting.
Hey- maybe you should pimp out the site a bit? Add maybe a dirt background to it? Also, make the Chicken's army go up slower, I am getting screwed. other then that, super awesome game! Also, add a pick between the 20k diamond pick and the 500k heavenly pick? Maybe boost the friendly troop KPE? If you need help with textures, I am the texturer for the Shur'Tugal mod and I would be delighted to help!

I believe this has been suggested before, so I'll definitely get on this and squeeze it in for whenever the next update is. Just gotta think on how I should do it.

Yeah, Thief said he'd help me out with some backgrounds. Hope he can provide some soon.

Optimal strategy for worker purchase
tl;dr: Buy so that you always have 11 more Dedicated Miners than Steves, 13 more Experienced Miners than Steves, and 49 more Heavenly Miners than Steves.
Each worker has a pickaxe type and constant OPM (ores mined per minute). While the player may drop ores after mining - affecting average OPM - workers do not. Depending on the pickaxe the worker uses, the worker collects certain types of ores with certain probabilities. With this info we can calculate the DPM (dollars per minute) generated by a worker. For instance, a Steve has an OPM of 200 and a wooden pickaxe. Based on a screenshot from reddit, the wood pick will generate 82.8% stone, 9.2% coal, and 8.0% mossy stone. These sell for $1, $3, and $7 respectively. This gives a DPM for a Steve of:
We want to maximize our DPM, so at any point the best worker to buy is the one that has the lowest price to DPM ratio. In effect, this means we want to buy in such a way that the price to DPM ratio of all 4 workers is the same.
Now suppose we have n workers of one class with dollars per minute DPM and initial price p0 and n' workers of a different class with dollars per minute DPM' and initial price p0'. If the price to DPM ratios are the same, we have
(1.025n * p0)/DPM = (1.025n' * p0')/DPM'
1.025n-n' = (DPM/p0)/(DPM'/p0')
n - n' = [log(DPM/p0)/log(1.025)] - [log(DPM'/p0')/log(1.025)]
So in fact the difference in numbers of the two classes stays constant. For each class, the quantity log(DPM/p0)/log(1.025) is as follows
Therefore optimally, we will always have (-40.1 - (-89.1)) = 49 more Heavenly Miners than Steves, 13 more Experienced Miners than Steves, and 11 more Dedicated Miners than Steves.
Can you replace the $123,456,789.00 with $123,456,789 so i'm not that conffused when i have a lot of money ? Example: Skilled Knight is $400.00 , what if you replace to $400 ? Sometimes i think is 400,00...
Edit: -snip-
I thought of one more idea to the background. For the upgrades, it uses the default Minecraft GUI; if you can't buy the upgrade it'll be dark gray, if you can buy something, it'll be gray, and if you're hovering over an upgrade, it will appear blue.
you should make it online, so its kind of like a world, like minecraft, where you can travel places to mine and theres a chat place at the bottom and a friends list and such, my friend just showed me this game and it looks cool and would be cool to be able to add people and create accounts with avatars and such

That would require a lot more then just JavaScript. You can't simply just make it appear out of nowhere. It takes time to develop and perfect....
Here is how I played the game, and a guide on how to play the game, from my experience. Needless to say, this contains lots of spoilers, but this whole thread contains spoilers, so, doesn't really make a difference; I put them in spoilers anyways.
I started playing this last night. I only got a tiny bit because I un-partnered with the chicken waaaay to early, and he ended up keeping me at around 50k. Today I started on my school laptop, and, with my knowledge from last time, held off from un-partnering until I had built up a sizable wealth and army. I totally obliterated him, and I was now making around 100k per second, and I had maybe 70k knights, because the have the most KPE/$. I introduced my friend to the game in the morning, he spent a whole period beating it, told me I needed 5k templars to beat "the shrine", so I sold all my knights and waited until I had 5k (he said I would have to beat his army before I could attack the shrine, so I wanted to have enough troops. I was extremely over-prepared). I attacked the army, beat them in one fell swoop with no troops lost (25k templars can kill around 500k troops if you buy the KPE +2 upgrade), then destroyed the shrine with one hit, and then, as I have gathered from this thread, I had beaten the game.
You start out with a wooden pickaxe. Keep clicking the "mine" button and the "Sell Ore" button until you can afford the stone pickaxe. Do the same for the iron, gold, and diamond pickaxes. If you want, you can upgrade your storage, it saves you from having to switch back and forth from the "Mine" and "Sell Ore" buttons, but it is optional.
Sometime while you are doing this, the Zombie will contact you, saying something about how you are on it's territory, and he is taking 60% of your money as a fee. You will then see an "Iron Golem" upgrade. If you want, you can get this upgrade. I wait until later in the game, but it doesn't really matter. As long as you follow the directions in the next step, you'll be fine.
When you purchase the Iron Golem upgrade, you defeat the zombie, and are contacted by Don Chikolio, your resident Evil Chicken. He will present you with 3 options.
Partner with him (CHOOSE THIS)
Don't partner with him politely
Don't partner with him inpolietly
I have no idea what the last two options do, all I know is that the first one is by far the best. Not only does it prevent you from getting obliterated by Don Chikolio, but it also gives you 5 portal pieces free! (more on that later)
After you do this, keep mining and selling, blah, blah, blah. The cheapest upgrade at this point (unless you haven't fully upgraded your storage yet), is something to do with terminating your partnership with Don Chikolio. Whatever you do, DO NOT CLICK THIS. It may seem tempting, as it is the cheapest option, but it is a MUCH wiser idea to save up for the autopilot. (It doesn't take nearly as long as it looks)
The two following steps are interchangeable, although it is easier to train your army with some workers making you more cash.
~~~~~~~~~~
After you get autopilot, you can start hiring workers. furitiem made a post explaining the best way to buy workers. I would suggest buying 50 heavenly miners first (may take a while) and then buying the rest using the proportions outlined in his post, and then just incrementing them one at a time. You can purchase the heavenly pickaxe sometime between 0 and 50 heavenly workers, or wait until you have 50 until you buy it.
Once you have saved up 500k for the autopilot, you can start training your army. Currently, you get the most KPE per $ if you buy knights. Keep saving and buying until you have around 5k, that number will keep the chicken's army away with ease. NOW you can buy the upgrade to sever your relation ship with Don Chikolio. He will attack you, and fail miserably, giving you portal pieces or money (not very much money, I mind you) ~~~~~~~~~~
Once Don Chikolio has been defeated a sufficient amount of times you will have 10/10 portal pieces, and you will be able to buy the portal upgrade. Buy this, but do not buy the flint and steel upgrade! Hopefully by now you have a size able force of workers churning out some cash, so it won't take FOREVER to buy 7.5k templars. (templars are the only troops that can attack the shrine) This will cost you around 37M, but this isn't much compared to how much you are making now. Once you have 7.5k templars, you can buy the flint and steel upgrade. You now have access to the Underworld.
You will see Don Chikolio freak out, and whatnot. Don't enter the portal yet, just click on the attack tab, and attack the zombie pigmen (yes, there are about 100k of them, but fear not, 7.5k templars can kill 150k troops!). Once they are slaughtered, make sure you have 5k troops (none of my troops died when I attacked, but yours might for some reason, idk), and then click on the portal in the portal tab, click attack the shrine or whatever, your templars will make quick work of it. Now you can buy the Underworld pickaxe! (can't remember how much it costed, just remember I had enough money)
You have now beat the game (as of 12/2/13)!!!!!one111
You can either
a) Quit, wondering why you wasted ~3 hours on a dumb game.
Quit, feeling proud that you beat the game! c) Keep buying workers and try to achieve unworldly $ per second d) Stalk the page to see if any updates come out(c and d sorta go together, because, incase there are new, expensive items added, you can afford them with your UNWORLDLY AMOUNT OF MAAHNEY!
Well, that's it, hope this helped you, and happy clicking!
Another thing you should know is that only Templars are usable in the Nether, that's why the guide says so for that reason...
Yes, thank you for pointing that out, I forgot to mention that. Sure would make people wonder why I was buying the less cost efficient warriors when I had just pointed out that knights were the most cost-efficient.
I have a few words to put in if you peoples don't mind.
This game is phenomenal. I love it and can't wait for the next update.
I have some ideas that might have been over looked..and then others that are more obvious :
-Blaze boss, Ghast boss, Magma cube, and maybe a wither skeleton boss.
-Adding nether brick, nether quartz.
-multi player???
-Add people with other jobs (Farmer, rancher, logger)
-explorers to find the end portal after gaining enough ender eyes from a boss (enderman boss)
-Add a place in the stats that shows how much ore you have mined.
-Add the ability to save/submit your high score with your name.
And I like the idea about having a "village" or "Kingdom"
Thanks for the game!
[EDIT]:I am willing to offer my services to help you with the pixel art if you need it.
Edit: I made a mock-up with the background.
Ideas that go with the background:
The chest open when you mine and is filled with the ores/stone that you mined.
Random ores on the background (coal, iron, gold, lapis, diamond, etc.) and if you click on them, you get the ore.
Change the icons (dev, you can pm me for icons)
Click to zoom!
I'm actually working on a background for Imperial right now! I'm placing each 16x16 texture into a 1028x1028 image by hand...
I have too much time on my hands
I believe this has been suggested before, so I'll definitely get on this and squeeze it in for whenever the next update is. Just gotta think on how I should do it.
DPM(Experienced) = $7654
DPM(Heavenly) = $55772
Dedicated: -77.9
Heavenly: -40.1
Therefore optimally, we will always have (-40.1 - (-89.1)) = 49 more Heavenly Miners than Steves, 13 more Experienced Miners than Steves, and 11 more Dedicated Miners than Steves.
