After falling in (and quickly out) of love with "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King" years ago, I have been searching for a game which simply lets you build parties of adventurers and send them into dungeons... afterwards, you collect loot, xp, and can read their "battle reports".
Tons of FF1 clones exist, but that wasn't what I was looking for. "Dungeon Village" came close, but was far too shallow. "Majesty" was a near miss for me...
So, I decided to create the game myself (since nobody else would).
Playable demo, gameplay video and more information here:
A. There is a game currently out called duengeon village which is avalible for mobile devices, it is not an RPG it is a village/quest manager just as this game is so there is games like it just none in the AAA market commercial scene. You start with a very small village and one person which you name to quest and fight mobs in your area. By improving your village you improve the amount of people who will come visit. You also have to add weapon shops, armor shops, potion shops, to have access to items and adding other buildings such as inns, housing, flower shops, circus, traning areas for melee or range etc will be beneficial for your village in general it makes more income as well as hardened warriors.
B. Dwarf Fortress doesn't have 8 bit graphics it uses ASCII which is a major complaint about the game other then its massive learning curve of course.
C. The game sound promising I will have to wait and see more because dungeon village was fun maybe that was due to me being away from my PC but I still finished it as much as the game tracked at least (you can continue when you reach the "end) This one has certianly more in depth inventory management where as dungeon village you just gifted items to your villagers to use.
Sounds interesting. I'll try it...as soon as I have less homework

Friend Safaris: Poison: Swalot, Whirlipede, Seviper.
But check the kickstarter in case it gets updated again.
Thanks!
Holy crap, 369 MB! At least have a warning before you do that, because my Internet is crap

It's retro, old school - ala "Dwarf Fortress" (if DF had 8-bit graphics). But it has a featureset I'm not sure exists in any other game out there...
Anyway, happy mining!

B. Yup, I know... I just worded my DF graphics sentence poorly...
