I'd like to point out that they did not say it was BattleFront 3, which to me means either they're remaking the original BattleFront (which would be bad ass). or it will be BattleFront 3, just without the '3' in the title.

Sort of like how Rambo 4(?) was called John Rambo I believe? Or maybe I just saw that on an AVGN review and the movie actually got cancelled or something...

Possibly. The Star Wars Youtube channel uploaded a video of the trailer, and even on that it was only titled BattleFront. Maybe it's just me, but I'd buy every single BattleFront title again if in fact EA remade BattleFront 1 and 2, then came out with BattleFront 3.
I doubt it's nothing to do with remaking the first. My guess is It's just so they can add "Battlefront 2" on the second and so on... But I have been craving for another BattleFront game for years!
Yeah. That happens a lot. Say... the new X-Com game taking the name of the original X-Com, X-Com : Enemy Unknown( A mixture of it's two names, UFO : Enemy Unknown in Europe and X-Com : UFO Defense otherwise. This is the most used name anyway.) being X-Com : Enemy Unknown ( DEFINITELY a reference to the classic if not meant just as a straight up remake.)

1 and 2 with remastered graphics and sound? That would be awesome! AWESOME I SAY!
All the old maps from Battlefront 2 remade in the frostbite engine
The ability to fight on the ground as you would but you can also fly into space and fight up there while the battle is on going on the planet... Or even perhaps you start in space and you shoot down in an ODST style or fight in space while, again, the battle is on going on the planet.
NO MARKETPLACE WHERE YOU BUY WEAPONS AND UPGRADES TO SHIPS! NO EA! NO!
Some destroyable cover. (It's the frostbite engine... It does that very, VERY well.)
Space battles like in Battlefront 2.
Joystick compatibility with the space battles on the PC.
Keep Galactic conquest in and maybe even expand on it a little bit.
These are just a few ideas I thought of. Not very fleshed out as they sprang to mind. Share your opinions about them if you like.
DICE is good with vehicles... Pandemic got great land/space vehicle combination in the space battles of BFII. If they did that general thing again except with spaceships flying around DURING a ground battle? Awesomeness. That also reminds me of how fun it was to just board their ship and start shooting important looking stuff. And that somehow just using the blowtorch-y repair tool thing you could FULLY FIX a destroyed shield generator.
So you can effectively stab a blowtorch into a destroyed shield generator and in a few minutes it will be fine? Actually I guess you may be right. It could be dispensing nano-robots that fix it instead of fire...

With the new generation of consoles, that can definitely be possible.
It'd be nice to make it less run and gun-ish with cover, I don't want it to be the exact same thing. Though i don't know if they're continuing Free Radical's version of the game, or are remaking it again in the Frostbite Engine.
The glory with StarWars and Lore writers is that it's set in the future. You can say damn what ever you like about it, and get away with it. That whole Nano-robot idea could be a legit thing if it was in the lore.
EA has come out to say all their future games WILL be done in the Frostbite engine. This means that StarWars will also be done in it. Although, they may port some assets from the original Unreal game and use them to save dev time. As long as they still look good, I don't really mind.
Alright. I really hope they continue Galactic Conquest like you said, that gamemode is awesome, especially with a friend.

EDIT: Then again... A remake would be totally bad ass!
Also, did EA say it would be an exclusive to Xbox or Consoles in general?... If this is not on PC I will be crying my self to sleep for the next 10 years.
We all have, man! I lost hope for the BattleFront series when LucasArts had been closed, but I'm so glad EA is taking it over. In my opinion, a remake is long over do for the BattleFront series. It was fun on the PS2, but in today's graphics? Oh man, the possibilities are endless.
Unfortunately, they did not say, however, I'm assuming it will be on next gen consoles and PC. I'm hoping they make it for the PS3, because I do not plan on buying a next gen console.

I agree with all those. The space battles could be so epic on the Frostbite engine. Imagine bad ass dog fights with X-Wings and Tie Fighters. I do wonder if they'll allow us to play as a Jedi or Sith as BattleFront 2 did.
To be honest. I would not mind the whole singleplayer game to be just that and expanded than these silly little story missions we got. Yea, they were fun for a while... But I much preferred the idea of having your own fleets and taking over planets than doing a few objectives to finish a level.
Single player in BattleFront 1 wasn't even really a campaign, it was moreso just two sides facing each other. BattleFront 2 was pretty good with the story, as we were taken through the life of a 501st member and actually partook in the events. I'm hoping that this new title will have all the factions (CIS, Republic, Rebels, and Empire). That way, it's not limited to two factions only. (though, even if it was, it'd still be fun.)
What I'm curious of the most, is the weapons. There's a hell of a lot of weapons in the Star Wars universe. I'm curious if we'll be able to pick and customize weapons like in BF3. (minus suppressors)

IN THE FUTURE!?!??!?! Do you even understand Star Wars? A LONG TIME AGO in a galaxy far far away? In a technologically advanced society? Yes. In the future? No.

I know. It's just that it's basically the most important Star Wars phrase ever. It's in the beginning of the opening crawl for all 6 movies as well as every game that has an opening crawl. Also on the first page of a lot of the novels. And... well... I'm kind of a Star Wars nerd. I have an obscure Star Wars novel character as my avatar!
I thought Battlefront 3 was cancelled... Well now I'm pleasantly surprised. Can't wait for some gameplay to come out!
If it's going to be published by EA... I think I could set aside my hate for that company and buy this game. Only because I've loved the Battlefront games for so long.
Now we just need a new Star Wars: Jedi Knight game to be announced!
It was cancelled. This is a completely different Battlefront 3 than the one that was cancelled.
When Disney bought Star Wars from George Lucas, they shut down the section that dealt with Star Wars video games. However, instead of cancelling everything that was being worked on there, they outsourced all of those ideas to game companies that wanted them.
I believe EA has Battlefront 3. The top ones that I'm interested are Battlefront 3 and Star Wars 1313. However, no one has picked up the idea for 1313 yet, but I'm hoping that someone will. Look it up; it's an incredibly interesting game.

Well, at least Dice is handling it. They can code an FPS game... they just are stuck with EA's DLC policies and such.

That makes two of us. (Minus the novel part)
Let's hope Jacen Solo and Kul Teska both appear in Battlefront III. (Highly unlikely)
BTW, Does anyone know how EA handles RTS games? Because I have a small ray of light for an Empire at War II, or something equally as good.
