I'm going to Florida on Thursday and I'm bringing my PS3. From experience I know that Hotels have crappy internet. I need a good story oriented PS3 game that I can play so I won't die of bored-um. Maybe a RPG or an action/adventure game. Any recommendations?
Uncharted 3 (or any other Uncharted for that matter.) Also, I have Fallout for my PS3 and it's great.
But Metal Gear Solid 4 takes the cake. It took me something along the lines of 24 hours to finish the story first time around. Plus, I find it highly replayable.
Heavy Rain is a really good game if you havent played it already, although it isnt rpg/ action. Can be sad at times.
Ni no kuni: the wrath of the white witch was recently released and has a good battle system, but the graphics may seem alittle kiddish\
Also any uncharted games are definite must haves.

"I often think about that old metaphor, the one that says we are all islands on a wide sea. Especially these days, now that things are more difficult than before and the world appears to be harsher than we once imagined it to be. We are all like islands, the philosopher said. Perhaps it's true. Yet I cannot help but remember an older saying, scratched on a cave wall somewhere by a long-forgotten prophet: in the end, the sea will claim everything."
I URGE you not to buy MGS4 unless you are OBSESSED with watching long winded cutscenes...gameplay-wise theres about 10 hours worth. To be quite honest, MGS4 was clearly only a game for the fanboys/hardcore fans of the franchise. It was more of a film obsessed with it's own story than a game.
Fine by me, but did you watch the 90 minute cutscene?
I enjoyed the online though. Somewhere that WASNT full of idiots like the COD servers.
I watched all the cutscenes. The ending was ~2 hours long.
Also, the online was precisely like CoD (in the sense that the community was douchy and elitist or dumb and not fun at all to fight.) I never liked it. It's a good concept that wasn't put in well.
But I think they took the online down because the servers for it got trashed by the earthquake in 2011.
Nobody has said Journey yet, which makes me sad. It's the only game which has made me consider getting a PS3, such a unique and interesting way of telling a story.

You have the patience of a saint...
I guess my online experience was different then (i live in the UK if that means anything). What earthquake in 2011?

Oh, don't be that guy. I'm not a big Sony fan, but there are plenty of beautiful story-oriented games for PS3.
Dude. Do you not know that Metal Gear Solid, pretty much the story game for consoles ever since 1998 is on PS3?

Hey, I'm a Nintendo fanboy. What else am I supposed to do?
Honestly though, I don't have anything against Sony other than their horrific answer to the Wiimote. Oh, and Jack Tretton's a jackass.
This game looked fantastic.
Yes and yes. I agree.
I enjoyed it, and it was my first MGS game.
