I second that, my Dad used to play Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, when he was like 40, he introduced me to Pokemon
On the subject of the new Pokemon game, I'm super excited for Pokemon X and Y, although no Ruby and Sapphire remakes I only hope that the 3D effects will suit Pokemon. Only problem is I bought my 3DS when I lived in Singapore, so I don't know if a Europe game (where I live now) will play on it.

These games will be a revolution for the Pokemon series.
In the trailer, the protagonist is seen looking in a mirror, which could suggest that we finally get
character customisation. Also, the region appears to be based off France as we see a structure
that bears a strong resemblance to the Eiffel Tower. Also in the trailer, a the protagonist is seen rollerskating through a street, which suggests travel options other than the bike, or a different kind of running shoes.
The aesthetically overhauled battle system looks promising. Fennekin, Froakie, Chespin, Xerneas and Yveltal also have decent designs. Good thing I got a 3DS for my birthday
There is also a route that looks a lot like one in Hoenn (don't know the name though) and the colour theme for the games is again red and blue, and I know these are standard Pokemon game "colours" but with those two things in mind, we may get to travel to Hoenn! Who knows? maybe Gamefreak wants to suprise us.
I am so excited for this! I am water type, I have been playing since Firered/Leafgreen (I got both) and I chose squritle. I chose water type from then on.
This might be the best news I've had all day. It's been kind of a slow day, but still. Anyone else dig the starter design this time around? Pretty excited for the fire fox thinger, mysef.
I personally always choose the water starters. Water types usually have the capability to learn some ice-type moves, allowing it to easily take down your rival's grass type.

I chose Oshawott when I started Pokemon Black. Everyone said I was an idiot. ;-;

oshawott is actually pretty good because of aqua shell, a physical water type move that is actually pretty powerful. You get the move early on and oshawott becomes a tank. One thing I hate is for the last three generations, the fire type starter has been fire/fighting. I heard a rumor that all the starters this time will have no secondary types, but it's only a rumor so far...
The gameplay looks cool, but the names are really stupid "Pokemon X"? "Pokemon Y"? I... Just don't even know what to think of that. If they made gen 1-3 look like that, then I would buy those in a heartbeat... I honestly stopped playing Pokemon after gen 4, because it just started getting really stupid.
No such thing.
WHAT?!
Danger zone.

PETA agent here. You're under arrest.
PETA has about as much authority as the grungy hair clogging up your sink.

I never really meant that joke to make sense.

These games look very promising.

PETA? You mean those people who try to take down EVERY Nintendo game?
TNX!
The official Peta, to my knowledge, never was against any videogames hardly. Just Peta2 which is like the peta antichrist.
Nintendo did not invent Pokemon. They sold it. Gamefreak made it.
