You're missing mouse, keyboard, and headset. Oh, and its more than 300$ still. Try again
And your missing a TV how much did yours cost? I can find monitor/Keyboard/Mouse/Headset and a hell a mouse pad within that expense as well.
Again the cost is piratically the same, we can continue to go down on how 10 brand new games general is $500 for PC where as 10 brand new games on Xbox 360 is $600.
The price difference between either one is too insiginificant to use it as a justifiable reason why not to get one. Because once again too many factors come into play. Simplicity is the one and major reason that separates them and that's not bad I understand why that is in demand.
I like console gaming and PC gaming, it's just I favor the PC over consoles. I just hate how companies don't give two ***** about the PC gaming community. I wanna know what the world would be like if games like CoD were made for the PC first instead of the Xbox...
A PC can do far, far, far more than a console. It's like comparing an apple to a fruit salad, and complaining because the fruit salad costs more.
What if, bare with me, one only wants the apple, and no other fruit as they find the apple just as satisfying for different reasons? Also no, money is never a non issue.
You failed to mention how this happens in PC games as well.
Yes but that's the Norm. Consoles used to be the type of thing that were a heck of a lot more robust. Compare running a DOS game to playing Super Mario Brothers 3. Now the Console games are no better in this segment than PC games, since the PC has improved while the Console games have gotten worse in this manner, and they've practically met in the middle.

Wrong, they're both $600. Brand new games are $60 on steam.
The headset is completely irrelevant and so is the $300 price, the consoles were more when they were launched. I'm not talking about the comment carguy made but in general. A mouse and a keyboard can be picked up for under $20 total, if you cannot afford that you cannot afford being ripped off on console games either.
E: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/r65d
Headset is not irrelevant. If you actually read the argument instead of jumping in without knowing anything; you would know that we were including accessories in the price.
And that's even more expensive then the other guys build.

99% of all homes in the U.S have televisions. 97% of all homes in Canada have televisions. 98% of all homes in the U.K have televisions. It's a given that if you buy a console you will already have a television.
Wrong, they're both $600. Brand new games are $60 on steam.
You heard right.
Headset is not irrelevant. If you actually read the argument instead of jumping in without knowing anything; you would know that we were including accessories in the price.

And while I go pull out numbers out of my ass based on nothing as well like this site. How many households already have a PC? A $50 GPU is the only thing needed to turn about ANY game and turn the computer into a so called "gaming" computer.
We can go about this ing fight day in and day out but the fact remains from personal experience that price cannot be used as a ultimate reason why not to get one because in the long scheme getting one it is the same price. Simplicity is the one and only factor that comes into play and that is not a bad thing and I am sure everyone understands why that is in demand but nothing beyond that can apply.
1. They are simple. The average PC gamer is going to be of a higher intellect then the console gamers. You just put in a game and hit start. That's all they want.
Yes, because tech knowledge is the only form of education requiring intelligence. Everyone knows that the study of biology, anatomy, culture, geography, etc. don't count. Mechanics, surgeons, and archaeologists are all dumber than a bag o' bricks, I tell ya what!
2. They don't have to upgrade their hardware. Most people don't know what the hell the inside of a computer looks like. They don't want to. Therefore, they take comfort in their console knowing that it will last 8 years or so and they wont have to unscrew a single bolt.
Taking pride in simply knowing what lies inside a case is just sad. With very little research, someone (who knows nothing about electronics) could build a PC in an hour, tops. They may not know the best hardware to use, but that's not the point here. Knowing what a computer is comprised of just isn't that impressive. Once you get into computer science and learning how the hardware works, in itself and with other components, then it becomes deep.
5. They are cheap. inb4 consoles last 8 years. They cost on average $300 USD. A Gaming computer that can run all the latest games right now will with no lag will cost you about $600 USD. This might last you 3-4 years. There you go. And before you go "LOL CONTROLLER, MIC, ACCESSORIES, REPAIR COST LOL." All consoles come with a controller, Microphone, needed accessories (Excluding Xbox wifi-adapter for older Xbox's.) You have to buy your Microphone, and other things unless you actually like the accessories that came with your computer. I have had my Xbox for 4 years when Christmas rolls around. It sits on my Carpet. It has never once became the slightest bit warm, and I've never had any issues with it not working, and never had to have it repaired. Xbox Live is $60 a month, so yeah, Xbox is more expensive, but you don't need Xbox Live. I like that security away from Hackers. PS3 is free online though, so PS3 is cheaper than PC. Not Xbox in the long run.
Now I'm just confused... It seemed as though you were bashing console users earlier, and now, not so much? Also, Xbox Live is $60 a year, or $5 a month, not sure where you came up with that crazy estimation. I think it's worth it though, you're paying for security and a better online experience. From what I understand, PS3 has a much bigger problem with modders. (albeit not nearly as bad as most online PC games)
Until gaming PC's become cheaper, consoles will always be more popular than gaming computers. Why? Because the average person doesn't care about graphics. They want to play a fun game, regardless of gameplay, with no lag.
They want to play a fun game... regardless of gameplay... Please explain that sentence. Anyway, I don't think anyone should care about graphics. I've played text-based, or games using ASCII tile sets that were more immersing and addictive than the photo-realistic (exaggeration) crap fests that most of the new titles tend to be.
Yeah, I see what you mean but it doesn't work that way. Computers aren't 'made' specifically for gaming where consoles are. If you buy a computer, you get everything else that comes with it and that costs money.
That was kind of his whole point. Someone who only wants the apple, (gaming) is going to buy the apple. If someone doesn't like or need the grapes, bananas, and marshmallows (access to a plethora of non-game apps, e-mail, customization, etc.) why would they pay extra just to pick them out and throw them in the trash? (a.k.a. never use those apps and such)
No, money is not a valid argument.. Like I said, you pay more for more with a computer. You can do things on a computer that an Xbox can't even touch, and you are saying the money argument is a fair one?
Yes it is. Theres a reason not everyone buys 2k dollar+ tvs and buys incredibly expensive cars. Money is always going to be an issue to people, and why pay for more than you need? If you're only going to drive to church on sundays and drop children off at school with a car, why buy a new car worth 20 grand when a 3 grand used car can fufill the same purpose? Yeah the used car wont be as reliable, or be as smooth, but it works. Oh right, and the crappy car has ass warmers while the 20 grand car doesnt(certain exclusives, goes both ways im aware).
But this argument is starting to get to the point of being null, as systems are getting more and more expensive. Not completely, but its getting there.
My PC Specs :
Quad i5-2500K
16 Gigs Ram
GTX 660Ti with 3 gigs ram.
No console even REMOTELY comes close. And I only paid about 1 grand for the whole computer. It will last a long time with even NEW games with HIGH end graphics turned up. No console comes even close. I like the fact that I can watch netflix, talk on gtalk, play minecraft with GLSL shaders fully enabled, and read email all on my dual monitor PC. You can't do all that at once on ANY console. Give me a PC any day. Not to mention I am a programmer and Graphic artist. So I could potentially make my own minecraft if I so chose too. You can't do ANY of those on a console. Not even Mod your minecraft.
I don't hate console. I grew up on it. It'll always be part of me deep inside, and it's something I'll never truly let go of. But I have, in my years, gravitated to PC gaming due to it's more extensive features and abilities.
But what does me right off about consoles are console exclusives. Why? Why the hell would you make a game exclusive to console? I could understand exclusive to a particular console, sure, but why to only console?
A console can fall off easily over the years and you have to buy a new 2-3 hundred dollar console where as with a computer you can buy a 700$ computer and it will stay current for a few years, and with proper investment, it can be upgraded for a lot less.
Also PC Gaming is more diverse when it comes to games you can play.
People can argue and compare the cost of a pc and console all they like, but let's face it: Most casual middleclass households have a PC now, either for work, schoolwork or internet porn, most households will have a computer(mostly PC, 'murica excluded) And most modern premades you get for a few hundred from some bad bargin bin sale nowdays can compete run most games also available to the aging console platforms. WHY would a normal casual sane man spend that extra 249.99$ plus tax for a console that mostly runs the same games as the PCthey already own? if they really WANT console controllers, just plug in a console controller in your PC and assign the keys to your liking.
The natural thought of a casual working man with a casual occupation living a casual life when he thinks about getting some casual gaming entertainment is: "Hey, Maybe the casual Personal computer that I already casually own, which facilitates most of my casual daily work assignments, casual fasebwooking, casual ebay bidding and casual masturbation needs can provide me something more... Something like a Casual game of MineCraft on easy mode, perhaps?"
Talking about graphics in relation to gameplay: From what I understood, it actually does affect gameplay in a drastic way, given the gap between the technology in comparison.
i.e. In a game where it should be possible to have a massive open world battle going on with hundreds of npcs running around clashing swords and **** were the game PC exclusive and built for PC specs.
It would not be as viable if you want to reach the console audience with the game, you would have to sacrifice so much quality and detail and polygons, it would just look like a bunch of mosaic 2 by 4's running around at 10fps clashing mosaic sticks and planky mosaic ****.
So they would have to scrap what they WANTED to do for what they CAN do if they want to reach the console audience.
You can really only defend the idea of Gameplay > Graphics(which I agree with, btw) so much untill one side starts getting so much age stacked on it, that it would start visibly hold back advancement with just its popularity and massive target audience
If you like your NES games compared to modern day PC games which are mostly near perfect copies of eachother, you can. Doesn't stop the need for the advancement of technology, though.
Changing the content too much between the platforms outside of DLC's is not viable, if anyone's derp enough to ask.
tl;dr, Why isn't PS4 and XBOX720 out yet? Is it the same reason why Half life 3 isn't out yet?
And your missing a TV how much did yours cost? I can find monitor/Keyboard/Mouse/Headset and a hell a mouse pad within that expense as well.

It gets a result.

However, if you're a hardcore, pro gamer, get a PC. More complex, but way more powerful.
