So, what is your opinion of the game in general? any disscusion or critique is fine. For me, i think this is amazing. half life 1 + half life 2 engine= awesome game .

I like what they did with it. Instead of a generic Half Life 2 clone in the Half Life 1 setting, they really captured a lot of the horror that was in the original Half Life. That sense of horror was just unexistant in Half Life 2.
But **** me if I will ever run Black Mesa above 20 FPS. I've tried everything.

I did find a few fixes to get it to a playable framerate(turned out to be a driver issue), but the game still stutters like crazy.
I read up that it might have something to do with multicore rendering(it's not available in source sdk 2007?), so I screencapped my task manager:
Intel HD Graphics 3000(yeah, i know, pretty bad, but I don't see why I should have a problem with this game over other Source games)

The other Source games use the Orange Box engine from 2007, IIRC. I don't think Valve has updated it too much since then, and haven't made extensive changes that require a more powerful GPU than an integrated one. Black Mesa's creators might've wanted more, graphically, than what the current Source engine offers and have probably created alot of the textures in the mod from scratch. These textures probably require a dedicated GPU to run the game smoothly, and it looks like it, too. The textures in it are a lot more detailed than how they would look like in a regular Source game, from the weapons, to the NPC models, to the environment and to the boxes. I haven't seen anyone who has an integrated GPU play the game, so I could be wrong, but that's the most logical explanation I can come up with.
