Can someone Gift me Terraria on Steam, I know I shouldn't be a cheap scab but I can't add any money and my mum thinks steam is untrustworthy and may contain a virus. I thought now would be the best time to ask because It's a bit cheaper.
Well tell your mother that Steam is ran by one of the most trust worthy company's in the world, Valve. Show her the history of valve and Steam. Tell her that the platform Steam is used by Millions of people like me and you and any one who thinks steam (Valve them self) would steal any money out of you and not give you your item in hand are very dim! Let alone they would give you a virus of any kind!
She thinks you can get viruses from watching videos on youtube, Trust me, it would be like talking to a brick wall.
You, my friend, have stumbled upon one of the most complex and hardest conundrums on the internet. (For kids at least) It's physically impossible to teach the internet to parents. Everything to them is a virus run by pedophiles. I want terraria too, I'm willing to pay for it, just I don't wanna download steam for one damned game. In my opinion terraria shouldn't even be on steam, or at least have a non-steam version. It's the same issue with portal. Developers are often a tad bit lazy and don't consider making it legally available off-steam. Mojang made the right decision.
You have four choices.
1. Teach your mother the aspects of the internet. (It won't be like talking to a brick wall, it'll be like teaching a rock how to swim)
2. Get a giftcode from someone on your birthday.
3. Get a credit card and do it yourself.
4. Show your mother this page. (But she's likely to think we're pedophiles who will hack you, so just show her my post instead)
