Not to mention that Minecraft for 360 has been set back in development a couple of patches, so they have none of the adventure/ender dragon things in it. Not even your precious creative mode.
You really can't compare an Xbox game to a PC game in the first place, really. No way to get 3rd party content, and barely any ram to work with. As of now, FortressCraft is loads better than Minecraft on the xbox, and will probably always be.
Seeing his posts, and the type of illogical crap he has to put up with, I now sympathize with the FortressCraft developer.
Mr. You are the only one here advocating your own game; you completely ignore any logical and reasonable arguments we put forth on basis not grounded in reality. To me you do not seem like a credible person to entrust my money or even time.
I disagree. I don't, and couldn't play FortressCraft, myself, since I don't have an Xbox, and as such as Don't really know what fortresscraft does or does not have. Judging from the videos I did see (AGES ago) it seemed similar to Minecraft, but that doesn't really make it a clone. Besides, consider the number of people on this forum going "OMGz u gais I am learnin java to maek a Vocksel gaem!!!!1!!!".
Again, I haven't played Fortress craft, but considering what I've seen of both games, I would honestly prefer fortresscraft to the Xbox version of minecraft. (if I had an Xbox).
What I did read when I first heard about it, I found interesting and pretty cool. Then I learned it was only on Xbox which was dissappointing but oh well.
In all honestly I don't have anything against Notch but sometimes I find that he can really throw the weight of his fans around without realizing it. A simple tweet or comment will cause a huge flurry of insults to be hurled by those who have their heads up their asses about the facts of the matter. Those people being attacked by Notch's army of minions don't have a gigantic playerbase to defend themselves with, and in large part those that do usually have the propensity to not fight fire with fire. (good example: Yogscast).
Well, you tell me which appears to be better suited for creative builds, the left, or the right!
Which is better for creative builds? :-)
Is that village generated by the game, in a unique fashion each time you start a new world? Is it? Because otherwise that's like comparing A natural cave to a underground fortress. There's just a slight difference.
Oh you can't tell your god that then because he did in that article. And once again did i ever say that Minecraft was better or that the xbox version was good?
Are you stupid? You can create some damn good builds in Minecraft and you are not limited in Minecraft because of the tools available it just takes longer but yes, Fortresscraft is better for creative builds i never said anything else, but saying that you can't be creative in Minecraft is so ****ing stupid.
My god? Are you ****ing kidding me? Even I, an avid player of fortresscraft, think Arcas is a brash and arrogant asshole sometimes, but that just means he loves the thing he has created and will defend it to the death (figuratively). I don't worship him one bit, even though he's pretty damn good at what he does, even though he has to deal with people like you on a day to day basis.
I never said that it was not as good for creative...I was saying that you have NO right in what game I should rather play...Let get an image of a dirt house made in FC and then a HUGE build in Minecraft then ask some one random "What one would you chose?"....
Try to make a castle the same size, and the same level of detail, in minecraft. You can't. Ever.
Here's a link to the whole video, it's quite amazing.
you appear to be missing the point, that ship for instance, how big is it, now look at the castle pic from FC, see those tiny ships to the right, only 2 blocks big but up close they look the same size and have the same detail as the huge MC ship, that means less draw distance required to view your world, and you can build high detail to scale and even smaller, pop an avatar on the MC ship it will look tiny and out of scale to the world built around it. In an artistic sense you are comparing paint to photoshop, but lovely build that one love the bridge reflecting in the water.
Out of that entire massively detailed castle, you chose the ships next to it? Really? If you want a tricked out ship, one in fc would look a lot cooler. And by the way, those little white specks next to the boats are birds. That move. Like actual birds do.
Wrong. FortressCraft copied Minecraft, Minecraft was inspired by infiniminer.
You haven't played FC, have you?
But really, comparing Minecraft to Fortresscraft is like comparing CoD to Halo. Sure they're both FPSs, but the similarities basically stop there.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
The pic is a lie. If you used one with some more actual detail, then yes, it could be good. But the entire building can be made in minecraft almost. Only things minecraft couldn't do is the chains, curved entrances, and the walls. Really, use a different picture with more detail compared to minecraft, not a picture with slightly more detail.
Actually, I feel like correcting you. Here's a list of the parts of that picture that Minecraft would be unable to reproduce (mods aside)
Walls
Balconies
Columns
Arches
Chains
Floor mosaics
Curved roofs
Wall detail
Iron wrought fence
Honestly, I feel like I'm dealing with the most blinkered people in history. :|
Yes, the walls detail can not be made in minecraft. Fortresscraft is better in detail and ingame tools.
The balconies ( if your referring to the ones up on the walls) could almost be entirely made in minecraft.
The columns could easily be made by fences in minecraft, however they would need a texturepack.
Minecraft does not have arches, or even spheres, so fortresscraft wins this.
As I said in that post, minecraft cannot make chains, which is another way fortresscraft wins.
Floor mosiacs can easily be made with any decorative block and the floor.
Minecraft does not have curves, as I stated. Which is why fortresscraft is better than minecraft in this.
As I said in my post, the wall detail is not possible in minecraft.
The iron wrought fences can just be replaced with ironbars.
So in summary, fortresscraft is better in creative aspects than minecraft. Also, 5 of the things you pointed out ( walls, arches, chains, curved roofs, and wall detail) I said in my post minecraft could not do. Unless you have a texturepack and several mods, minecraft cannot beat fortresscraft in creative.
I used to like it.... until I got Minecraft. And now that I hear the creator is insulting Mojang, I'm never playing that game. You just cant insult your inspiration. And with mods, Minecraft blows away FC. FC is kinda, a basic version of Minecraft in my opinion.
Off topic-ish
If were talking about a game that can be sued by Mojang for copying, I suggest watching gameplay of Total Miner. I think there are too much similarities in that.
Posts like those (OstrichGuy11's) are why Pyro says you should describe things for MC fanboys instead of just showing pictures. You'd win a lot more people to your side if you use both. I'm on your side here, I don't think FC is a direct rip-off of MC, but you really should try a different tactic to convincing the general community (the picture really isn't getting through to them).
I think from now on we should be comparing FC to the Xbox MC, as comparing it to the PC version is difficult when it has al those mods.

Minecraft was made after Total Miner but minecraft does have more content and Terraria is accused of being a rip-off but have even more content, i smell Quantity > Quality(which i semi-disagree with)
Look, I know that you are sad that you couldn't be the one who came up with Minecraft and that you can only ride on Minecraft's wave of success, but don't come shoving it up my throat.
He's not sad because he didn't invent the 'block game' concept (Minecraft didn't either), he's sad because everyone hates on Fortresscraft despite the fact that most of them haven't played it (and I would be too if I was him).

I thought it was really cool when it came out, since Minecraft was only on the PC, i wasn't really aware of it. It soon got boring, but when minecraft was announced for Xbox I went back to it thinking I would stick with FortressCraft even after Minecraft came out. I can safely say that Minecraft is infinitely better in both gameplay, exploration, charm, etc... It was OK for when Minecraft wasn't out on xbox yet, but I can't see myself going back.
I disagree. I don't, and couldn't play FortressCraft, myself, since I don't have an Xbox, and as such as Don't really know what fortresscraft does or does not have. Technically exists.

Hmm... yes I see that. Comparing the generated villages in minecraft to user-created content is certainly not a way to bring up an honest point.
Colgate is mai waifu!~

What makes me truly chuckle, is that one side of the argument is a developer.
This is almost as funny as that time Frogboy started raging at the Elemental: War of Magic critics.
Thanks for the good read. I'm going to go play that GTA4 clone, Saints Row: The 3rd now.

-An HD texture
