Wow, I am impressed. Maybe it's because I didn't expect much coming into the trailer, but this really does look like a change of pace. Horses, relatively futuristic weapons, a seemingly larger focus on vehicular segments (futuristic vehicles at that)... definitely a surprise, to me at least. Were it not for the title, I wouldn't have even recognized this as a Call of Duty game.
Finally, something that can compete with BF3. I like it.

Looks very cool and I like futuristic shooters so I'm gonna' keep an eye on this. I just hope its singleplayer has enough length to warrent an early purchase (I don't normally play Xbox multiplayer and I'd get this game on xbox if I buy it), otherwise I'll have to wait until the price has gone down to a point I'm willing to buy it at... still waiting on the more recent CoDs to get to that point (looking at amazon now that I'm thinking about it, looks like WaW and MW2 have reached that point... hmm...). I mean, I loved the CoD series when I played it, but the CoD 4 campaign was too short and since then I've been hesitant to purchase the newer ones.
Well, it IS a reveal-trailer, so no surprise that it looks like a movie for now.
I mean like the single player you should just sit and watch and press a button every now and then. It looks like the person is just standing there watching everything...
Even with the "new" look it still looks like the same game with a few additions and fixes, to me.
I don't have high expectations. CoD titles somehow get away with making millions from the same tired-out mechanics. Every time I play a new CoD, it feels like a large map pack where they rename the weapons, killstreaks, and perks.

GENERATION 28: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the
generation. Social experiment.
When everyone sits around coming up with ideas and a walking tank is one of the ideas accepted for your game. Your game is ****.
1. The tank looks retarded. I'm sorry but it does.
2. Its not something we'd ever see in real life either. At least never like that. First off the walking tank thing it showed in the trailer relies on its legs to be able to aim at targets. A leg gets blown off by an RPG or something and suddenly all you have is a walking paperweight. It can't turn its barrel to shoot like a traditional tank. It'd be worthless unless someone was stupid enough to walk directly in front of it.
3. You know that Treyarch is gonna acknowledge that they know #2 is true. Sometime in November when you're playing the campaign you're gonna either have to blow one's leg off to disable it or you're gonna see one with a leg blown off. And when that happens it'll further reassure me that CoD has gotten stupid.
I've played every CoD since CoD4 and I probably would have gotten Black Ops 2. But the first campaign was all over the place and it sucked. And now it looks like the "sequel" is going the same way. First it shows walking tanks, then it shows flying things that look like they were stolen straight from Halo(granted we may have concepts for things like that in real life. But I can't look at one without thinking of the Hornet in Halo), and then it shows you horse back riding? No thank you.
However if they ever release a CoD based in the Wild West I'd have to check it out.

"None of this surprises me..."
Yeah because Screwattack made the prediction that COD and Halo will switch time slots, now we await Halo 4 to take place in Afghanistan.
Well I didn't think it was suppose to be right but why would they still call it "Black Ops 2" when it's takes place in a entirely different time setting, to cash on from the original Black Ops?
I don't know, we'll just have wait and see what else they have to throw in front of the screen. Who knows maybe EA might revive BF2143 back from the dead to counter this, hopefully they will make it as good as it was back then.

You really didn't do the campaign mode on the original Black Ops did you? The old man is Woods who tackled a suicide bomber to save Mason. That is the story link. You'll likely have to play through missions directly after Black Ops as Woods, through flashbacks. Also listen about the campaign on Inside Gaming. At least be well informed before you bash a game. I understand this is CoD, but bashing a game without playing it is being an irresponsible consumer.
There is still some unanswered questions to BO, and BO2 does not look like complete continuation to it's previous part.
The reverse of the question is what I'm still asking about Black Ops- it should have been a stand-alone story, yet instead they linked it, entirely unnecessarily, to World at War.

Well if you look at the clips and not the fancy editing you can see more then just another over hyped game

I'm approaching BOII with caution, but I just hope 3arc can make a game as good as WaW was.
