What gets considered with the "M" rating in games nowadays really concerns me. To start this topic off, I'll start with Skyrim. Sure, half of the stuff it says on the back is partly true... But, the rest of it is pretty much an entire lie. The goriest thing I've seen is at the start, with the block, but aside from that, I have not seen any gore at all. If I was rating it, I would consider it a "T" rating. Now, MW3. For this one, I won't go too much into explaing, just because I don't have to. I have played it before, but not for too long, and the thought crossed my mind, that it seem nearly every first person shooter seems to have an "M" rating. So far, the only FPS game I have came across that isn't rated "M" is Brink. Oh, and don't even get me started on Fable III. Honestly, if you have played the game, you probably might wonder why the heck was this rated "M"? Who rates this stuff!?! Please, tell me your thoughts on this...

Violence doesn't necessarily mean gore, it also has to do with the impact of weapon use and how realistic combat is. Fable III was rated MA for having strong sexual references. I've played through the whole main story and most of the sidequests, it definitely deserves an MA rating (and I agree, Fable II was a lot better). As for Skyrim, like I said, it's the impact of weapon use and how realistic combat is. Often as a finishing move you get a sword and stab it straight through an enemy, regardless of the level of gore, that's still pretty violent.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
fable 3 is a terrible game. its so short and it felt like it took me a day and then there was nothing else to do on the incredibly small map. Not sure why it was rated M either.

No. I stopped playing about twenty-five precent through the game, just because compared to the Fable II, it was fairly bad.
I agree with you on Melee, but on Brawl...Snake does have grenades and all that stuff, and Zero Suit Samus I don't really need to get into.
