WARNING: This game is insanely hard! Harder than geometry dash, Flappy Bird, and nearly every other game (yes dark souls too)
I Wanna Be The Boshy!
Insane platforming, Difficult bosses, Sadistic traps, and lack of save points makes dark souls look like a leapfrog game.
Warning: Foul language and cartoony blood is in the game. Please do no break your computer screen while playing it, and either way, its not recommended to play it.
Do you have what it takes to be the boshy? Plus cool meme songs!

Not gonna read through the whole topic, so if this is already suggested, oh well. Supremacy 1914. Realtime-strategy game. The website describes it like this:
In Supremacy 1914 you become the leader of a powerful nation in suspense-packed Europe after the turn of the century. You take control of one country and try to form the biggest empire in the world with all given tools of diplomacy, warfare and espionage. A complex AI allows even dramatic rounds with fewer human players. Normal rounds of Supremacy take between four to eight weeks while you play on historic maps on which your units move continuously.

I've found this game called Torn and i've found it super addictive. The game is an mmo set in a fictional city called Torn City. In this city you start out with hardly anything but you can work your way up the ranks by attacking players, running companies, working in factions, trading stocks etc... It's a really dynamic game that can be a lot of fun. One of it's strengths is that you can compete with friends.
Can't find Team Fortress 2 in search even though it is posted in the second comment. I wanted to clarify, and was checking if someone already has done so, that TF2 is FtP as of about 2011-2012; some time in there Gaben made it free. Download from Steam client utility, very credible source.
I hope Bay 12 Games becomes a credible source for activity here. Check out Dwarf Fortress, 'nuf said. On the main page at Bay 12, check out the curses engine games, typically short minigames, but Liberal Crime Squad(LCS) is very entertaining. http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/ That is the link to the forum.
It is one of a kind game where you start as a small cell, and you must collect points which are the really small dots an d after sometime you can easily eat smaller cells.Watch out there are many players online so there are many cells even bigger than you and could eat you..That's a good description, now in Europe alone there are already 15000 players online now.The game has also skins, which can be obtained by typing key words like Sweden(caps do not matter) and you get the flag of Sweden The full list of skins can be found in here
So feeling good for this game, well at least give it a shoot it won't eat you...
Warzone 2100 is an RTS game from 1998, originally developed by Pumpkin Studios. After they went under sometime later, they released the entire game to the public as open source, and fans have worked on developing it since.
Here is a gameplay video of the first level in the 2nd Campaign:
Fun Fact: I actually know the lady who voiced the announcer during this video.
I am not sure if I missed it or not being posted, but Haven and Hearth is one that some people might enjoy. Its a survival mmorpg with minimal graphics so it can be played by most computers. Its a bit unpolished but doesn't cost money (duh) and there is no micro transactions. A word of warning though, death is permanent (You wont have to re-register, just start a new character). http://www.havenandhearth.com/portal/
After looking this one up, I was really interested. Granted this was recommended/suggested over a year ago now, some things have changed. After looking it up on YouTube, quite a few commentators mention even at the alpha stage, it is almost essential to use a package of mods to make it playable. Then I ran into the issue of I cannot get the game to run without crashing with a severe conflict with the AMD graphics driver.
The final nail in the coffin for me was they have changed to an odd subscription based system. You can play for free still (somewhat) where you get an initial 48 hours to play initially followed by a 12 or so hours per week. The base level subscription only bumps it up to giving 24 hours per week to log in and play. I have no issue with paying for games, but it rubbed me the wrong way with a MONTHLY subscription to gain the unlimited playing option. Without a pay a sum once and play whenever you'd like, for as long as you like - especially with such an unpolished and buggy game, I had to pass.
I'm bummed, I was really looking forward to trying this one out after the game play I was able to see.
Just had to share, but look forward to seeing more suggestions for good up and coming games out there, free and even otherwise.
Basically, you use the arrow keys to navigate a ball to the exit. For pretty much all the levels except the first, there is something stopping you. There are two bosses to defeat, and it can be quite challenging at times.
now i am new here(but i love games so this great place to start), i played a modded minecraft server for a few years awhile back, it had perma death and kingdomes was very fun (theres prob alot of those) when it shut down i just chouldnt find the same feeling even in some of the other ones set up almost the same, but then i found http://www.havenandhearth.com/portal/ and damn its great is a mmorpg sand box survival perma death in development (thou is great as is and always growing) well worth a look if like minecraft lol
They have a few games to play, and they're all free.
One of my favorites is tower of heaven, a wonderful game, granted it is sort of hard.
Another is called Pause Ahead.
Here's the site: http://askiisoft.com/
1. Escaping the Prison
2. Stealing the Diamond
3. Breaking the Bank
4. Infiltrating the Airship
NOTE: These games are all relevant to Henry Stickman Series.
Thank you.

Its simple and addictive but not really a rage game like Flappy Bird.
Please ignore my old posts.

Fisher-Diver (Kongregate, also on AG if you want to bother)
You move around with your tiddly arrow keys and use your mouse to stab fishes and make them bleed and repeat until they die.
You then collect the fishies for some of that sweet $ which you use to buy upgrades.
There's also McGuffins scattered around (press space when near those) that you'll also need to buy some upgrades and advance the story.
I Love to play Papa's Bakeria a lot.
