A bad start. Thats all there is to it.
Lets go back a few months when I first saw this thread.
I was looking around the forums, then I saw this thread. I said "Oh, this is pretty cool! Nice graphics, and a nice community! I would definitely work for these guys!". It was all good. I got my job in this, with Sillen, and we started out wrong. First try: Didn't get the main class done. Second try: Based off of Minicraft, didn't work out. Third try: I almost deleted the whole game. Fourth try: Nothing got done and Sillen quit.
See what I mean? And even after that I quit, because everyone was being a ****hole and keep criticizing the game, based on the graphics, and the coders being lazy, and the progress of the game. Like you can do better.
Think about it, a entirely new game, made from scratch. Whole lot of work. And you keep ****ing us for not doing at a fast pace. WE ARE NOT JAVA GURUS LIKE NOTCH WHO CAN MAKE A FULL-FLEDGED GAME IN UNDER 48 HOURS.
Now, I will start with the project. I will do whatever I can to make this work. It might not be in code, money, or even websites, but I can do this. If you just wait, just wait, maybe this will be a success, but you guys keep thinking we would finish the game overnight.
Yeah, I guess people (Even me at times) tend to believe that games like that can be made in such a short while, since there are people like Notch, who can make a Java game 48 hours or like Red, who made Terraria in a couple of months (More or less). People have to remember that these guys have years of experience with these kind of things, and that experience can only be gained by creating stuff, which takes time.
Wish people would learn, but it's just engrained in the average gamers mind that games are something that pop-up almost every month on Steam.

Thanks for saying what I just said, but easier :biggrin.gif:

I just thought that this means that you failed once and determent to do the best this time around.
If i am still not reading properly PLEASE tell me, i cant see very well with out my reading glasses.
It means that I couldn't code enough that could make a piece of the game, and that I tried other ways possible to make the game keep on track.
... I was in no way a jerk to you. I merely asked why the sudden change of mind.
I'm porting Happy Isles to iOS as a hobby, I'm probably not going to get paid for it (I am, via Apple since Jake doesn't have control over that *Sssshhhh*)
PS: Sorry, i accidently quoted your post when I accidently called you a "jerk"
Jake has given very, very sparse amounts of information on the game ever since the beginning. Not even us, the coder, got enough information to know what the game would be like to play.
That's horse ****, I told you guys every thing about the main gal in the game, I left out the extra things like side villages and dungeons, because we needed to get the main parts done. Maybe I would've told you more if you got anything done in the 2 months we worked together.
Thank you, and I wish you good luck with the programming classes. I recommend you make the game in C++. my friend is also learning C++ and he might be able to help you. I still love this game, and can't wait for it to come out.
I might, I think the course offers both, so I'll se what I like better I guess

Thats it. The end.
Have you even READ what I said?

Kids:
"Wow! That was a good story, was kinda short though, do you think the game will ever come back?"
Probably not, kids, probably not.
Happy Isles will be on iOS.
You guys are jerks, I got it for free! (Legit)
Well, the demo will be free, I don't know how much the full version will cost.

That's kind of gross, anyway this game isn't dead since I'm gonna learn it, it'll just be delayed a few months
good point, fresh start and everything
