what is your opinion of halo? and i think the best rpg would have to be pokemon, final fantasy or kingdom hearts. then again, i really havent played any of those lol.
but if you want something that is realistic, GTA is the way to go. you can make almost everything realistic in it. except that someone has to make all the levels. but if we could somehow make an infinite level generator like minecraft, and perfect omni directional treadmill and make motion control super awesome, we would have the best video game ever.

I shoot my arrows in the air sometimes saying ay-oh, creeper's KO'd
I play CoD just so I can feel awesome killing something in a nonsensical way, (drop off a three-story building just to kill one man) then play an RPG to see numbers roll around on the screen (I'm stupid amirite?)

Kingdom hearts... I do enjoy smashing Heartless with a giant key every now and then :biggrin.gif: Everything else you said?
Halo: It's okay, I enjoy the map making.
Pokemon: Gotta... catch...them...all
Final Fantasy: I could never really get into it. The turn based system most of the games have seems a bit slow.
GTA: Pretty fun, swooping down from the rooftops in a helicopter firing missiles at people on free mode is hilarious!
On-topic: The last CoD I enjoyed was number 3.

We are what we eat and we are who we meet. These are not mutually exclusive.
I liked MW2 a bit, if only because it was the first PS3 game I owned. Black Ops, however, was a joke. I play it for the zombies, because It's the only half-decent part of the game. CoD 1-5 was good though. Some may debate 5, but I enjoyed it as much as 4.
I will rent MW3, in the hopes that it turns into something playable, but the only FPS I plan on buying in the near future is BF3. Otherwise, RPG games are the new FPS. Hopefully Square Enix decides to avoid doing an Activision and avoids a repeat of FF13.

At least RPGs have a better story than Crap of Doody:Modern Toilet. Besides, want a real shooter?Play Contra. That way you grow a Jungle of chest hair.

That's actually the reason I even own CoD games. It's awesome to just go into private match and have an all-out war against 4 or 5 of my friends. If the games were stripped down to a private-match multiplayer mode and sold for 10-15 dollars each, I would buy every single one of them. Contrary to what my posts in this topic may lead you to believe, I have actually 100%'d MW2. The campaign was fun. (Even though it had absolutely no consistency whatsoever and a garbage story) And I enjoyed spec-ops. Public multiplayer is an absolute joke though. Good thing there were no achievements for anything in public games.
All right, so today after being at the mall, I saw a couple of kids talking about the new Call of Duty game "Modern Warfare 3". So, I decided I would purposely drop my copy of FFX that I just bought at EB Games right in front of them, to see what there reaction would be like... Of course, it was the typical one. "Oooh! An RPG! These are soo boring! Why would anyone play them! FPS's are the only good games out there!". Happy with the reaction, I proceeded to the explain why that game they loved so much, was a terrible game.
1. All right, so, one of the big reasons why Call of Duty fans think their game is so great, is because of realism... Kinda of a bad reason to like the game, seeing as the game is the opposite... (This part is going to be rather funny, you'll see what I mean in a moment... :smile.gif: ). Dropping a nuke, for 18 people, Commando Pro (Must I say anymore?), The ability to stop your HEART for 15 seconds (Ninja Pro), 1 hit KO because of a throwing knife in the foot, riot shields not being able to break... Or one of my favorite ones... Dual Wielding (Akimbo) and still being able to knife without dropping one of your weapons. Anyways, just to clarify, I'm not one of those video games should be realistic guys, I just think if a game is SUPPOSED to be realistic, it should... :biggrin.gif:
2. Terrible maps, I mean, seriously, you know a map is bad when you can get a kill from the other side with little or no skill... They are horribly balanced, in Black Ops, some guy with autism must have wrote the spawning algorithm, and really, the ideas aren't really that original either... I hate maps based off of campaign levels, it's called developers being lazy...
3. Same old ****... Bad quality... Like seriously, MW3 uses the same engine has MW2... Pretty much, just a couple of modifications, that's it... It's still going to be buggy as ****, It's still going to take up more processing space then it needs to, and the game is still going to be like it's in it's beta phase... I'm not too excited for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.5 myself...
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this, and the fanboys were enlightened... Feel free to respond! :biggrin.gif:
You are exactly right pretty much all the words that I would say if someone would ask me about call of duty but I like campaign and nazi zombies that is it.

I Play games, and program in Python, If you need help send me a message!
Ok, I'll admit, MW2 was extremely fun for me. Especially the Spec-Ops missions. However, the campaign made ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKING SENSE. What did General Shepherd even do to be labelled a traitor? Why did the Russians attack the United States? What character was I even playing as through the entire game, and why were there no transitions between them? How can a sequel to MW2 be made if the campaign was so hard to follow that no one even knows what's going on? The story will have no consistency. /rant

I admit call of duty has many flaws. And i do get mad at it a lot. And acitivision is cheap so they have to charge 15 bucks for 5 maps, and half are rehashed old maps. And IW doesn't update a thing, and its the same game over and over. But for some reason it is fun. I think it is the choices and user friendliness in the game. You can just chose whatever you want in the game. In other games, there are so few weapons. And you can chose many different perks.
But it does seem pretty lazy. They made a really addicting game one year, and update it every year.
You make no sence. 1: HE FREAKING KILLED YOUR FIRST CARACTAR
2:You have a point... finally

Freakin dumb some people are.
1. Why did he do that though? The game NEVER brought up what his motive was. Even if it did, the explanation was so obscure that I missed it. All that was told to me after the character died was that I need to go kill Shepherd.
2. So you agree with me that you have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WHY THE RUSSIANS WENT TO WAR WITH US. THAT IS THE MAIN PLOT OF THE STORY. It would be good to have some clarification as to what's going on in THE MAIN STORYLINE OF THE GAME.
3. One second I'm trapped in a helicopter that was downed with no ammo and the game makes it look like I died, then I switch to a new character who's executing a contingency plan by launching an EMP at Washington DC, then I go back to the other character who I thought was dead and the EMP blast saved him. How is that consistent? I'm sure you could call it a plot twist, but at the time it made pretty much no sense to me.
4. You spelled "character" and "sense" wrong.
5. I'm pretty sure that I've made more intelligent posts in this topic than you so far. You call me dumb, but you seem to be sort of unintelligent in that you can only give me 2 instances of the game making sense in your own mindset. If you truly want to convince me that most average players understood the campaign, I'm going to need more examples than that.
First, anyone that bitches about realism in a video game should be systematically hunted down and killed. If you want ****ing realism, go enlist. CoD is realistic to the extent that a video game can be realistic and still be enjoyable by a large audience.
If you can't follow the Modern Warfare storyline, you're a ****ing moron.
For the people that are bitching about each CoD being similar to the last, what would you have them do? There's only so much you can do with a FPS in a certain time frame. That being said, why should they change anything? It's an immensely popular franchise. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Yes, the Black Ops spawning is awful, but as easy as it is to get spawn-killed, it's just as easy to get spawn-kills. Good players learn to adapt and play within the system. If you don't want to get spawn killed be aware of where you are in game in relation to your teammates and the opposing team.
These games were primarily made for the multiplayer experience. As such, the campaigns are relatively short.
Did I miss anything?

'Tis not contrary to reason to prefer the destruction of the whole world to the scratching of my finger.
Seems the deeming decision is that MW was the last good game?? I agree, MW multiplayer i enjoy, i did enjoy MW2 for about a week before everything went to the dogs and became russion roullete to get a good unhacked server, one without **** players (seriously never happened) and without hakcers... sad days.
Played Black ops for like an hour... it was boring, felt like i was playing on a console... all in all Activision went to console and now the game will be unplayable

To get the whole story line you would have to play from the beginning or at least start from CoD4 which if you sum it all up and made it itno a movie i thnk it wouldnt be half bad
Sand is WAY better then a diamond sword. What's better than diamond? Nothing.
But sand is better than nothing, right? Diamond < Nothing < Sand. Thusly, sand is better than a diamond sword.
I can't particularly speak to the campaign mode, but I quite enjoy the multiplayer of the most recent COD games. Challenge in a multiplayer game is entirely dependent on who you are, and who you are playing with. If you are playing with a whole bunch of new players or people that suck (of which there are many on COD, more so on the XBOX and PS3 then if you play on PC) of course it is going to be an easy game. Similarly, the people who claim that being good at COD is entirely about reaction time are wrong. In any game where the game play is even close to being balanced, strategy will be important; it's all about positioning and reading the moves of other players and noting trends in where people move to. Moreover, if you're getting shot across the map, stop standing out in the open!
Now in regard to your little play you put on for some COD fans, seriously? Yes COD has dumb fans; all videos games have dumb fans; I've known a fair few minecraft fans that are dumb. At least the people you talking to weren't pretentious enough to put on a little performance so that they could put down the game you like to play. Also apparently the people you were talking have slightly more maturity then some of the people who agree with you:
At least RPGs have a better story than Crap of Doody:Modern Toilet.
Not only does this contain a broad generalization about the stories of RPGs it utilizes the vocabulary of a three year old.
Also since when was using the same engine an indication of poor production value? I would point you in the direction of a significant amount of valve games eg. Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, TF2, all of which use the source engine. In game production, you build an engine and then you build most of your games around that engine. Reinventing the wheel every time you write a game would make it impossible to ever finish anything.

Anyways, just to clarify, I'm not one of those video games should be realistic guys, I just think if a game is SUPPOSED to be realistic, it should...

Well, that's the thing though, aren't games supposed to be different? I can tell your not that smart when it comes to gaming... The point is quality, not quantity. Lastly, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". CoD:MW2 And CoD:BO have to be one of the most broken games I have ever played, the amount of glitches in those games are terrible.
A game is classified as a form of play. So Call of Duty is a game. And it exists. Which makes it real. So it's a real game.
...
That doesn't imply that it's any good. Why don't you play this equivalent game:
Tear up slips of paper equal to the number of players times two. On one of them, write the word “YOU” and on another one write “WIN”. On the rest of them, write “YOU LOSE”. Have every player randomly draw two slips of paper. If one player has drawn both YOU and WIN, he wins. If two different people draw those two slips, everyone else loses, and each of the losing players must flip a coin. If there are more heads, the YOU player wins. If there are more tails, the WIN player wins. If they are equal, the two tied players must negotiate for four hours to decide which player is a bigger asshole, and that player wins.
but if you want something that is realistic, GTA is the way to go. you can make almost everything realistic in it. except that someone has to make all the levels. but if we could somehow make an infinite level generator like minecraft, and perfect omni directional treadmill and make motion control super awesome, we would have the best video game ever.

Try Combat Arms.
200+ guns, best lobby system I've ever seen in a shooter, original perks and game modes and it still sucks.
