Loved that game! The sequel was so awesome, I still play it from time to time.
My first video game ever was Super Mario Brothers. Not when it was new (I believe it was when the Super Nintendo had been out for a while) but we had an NES with a few games, and I recall spending long hours playing it as a kid. Think the farthest I made it was World 5, without the level skip.

After 10:30 PST, my IQ drops to around that of a shovel, please disregard anything I say after aforementioned time, it will likely not make any sense, and is best ignored.
All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
We had several floppy disks full of games for our old black and white Apple II(Probably a IIc or a IIGS, although I only ever remember two colors on that old thing, and I remember being astonished when we got an apple computer that had like 16 selectable colors!). So lets see, dark castle, number munchers, heaven and earth, Lode Runner, Sim City, or one of several others was probably my first game. We also had an intellivision back then, so it might have been an Intellivision game as well(Snafu, Pitfall, etc). The first game I actually owned? Bible Adventures, for the NES. Oh geez. My very first real game was a bootleg. q_q

How I imagine Bible Adventures:
"Press y for yes, I want to be crusified"
" I command you Moses to press n for no, I do not want to kill innocents"
Naw, it was a complete ripoff of every side-scrolling platforming game ever. It was also unlicensed, which is why I call it a bootleg. There were three "mini" games within the game. In the first you were Noah and had to collect all the animals and bring them to the ark. In the second one you were Moses' sister and you had to protect baby Moses from the Egyptians, and in the third one you were David and you had to....well I have no clue what the point of that one was other than the last level, other than avoiding bears and lions. Here's a review from that one moron:
