I can't really tell you the pros or cons of Portal 2, as I haven't played it yet, and no I won't ever.
Mortal Kombat is one of those fighting games of the reknowned series 'Street Fighter'. If you like cutting guys in half, I guess you could buy that game.
Depends on what genre of gaming you prefer. One is puzzles and solving (as far as I know) and the other is fighting.
I bought Mortal Kombat, and it's fun. Lots of fun. Been a while since I had this much fun in a fighting game to be honest, and I have Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6, and played a bit of Soul Caliber. Basically revived the fighting genre for me.
There's loads of stuff to do in MK, the story line is pretty sweet, they've seem to have gone back to the dark roots of what MK is supposed to be about.
There tonnes of challenges to do in Challenge Tower, I'm only at like 36 and it still seems to go on forever. Plus they have the arcade mode, brought back the Krypt, where you purchase items and basically unlock things for gameplay purposes. Also they have online with a King of the Hill fight mode, (pretty cool) where you stand in line if there is more than one challenger and you can contest the winner of the fights. Plus while waiting you can do a variation of motions such as booing, and so forth. If you're playing on XBOX you use your XBL persona or avatar (w/e it's called). (Look up videos or check the MK wiki, hard to explain) They also have normal online fighting where you can challenge people, and you can go into lobbies and challenge people there as well.
If you're doing single player they have the Ladder, as well as Tag Ladder, two player has a Team Ladder as well as online, so I'm guessing Tag battling online, and 3 and 4 players just have versus mode.
Also they have Test Your Might, Test Your Strike, Test Your Sight, and Test Your Luck, if you want challenges. Test Your Luck is quite fun because it can either enable or disable certain aspects of the fighting style, i.e. disable blocking, headless kombat, poisoned fighting, etc.
There's also specs on each character if you're interested in seeing how often you've used someone. You can see the amount of time spent using someone, how much blood you've spilled using them, as well as their bio, damaged look, alternate costumes, etc.
It all depends on what you like though.

inFAMOUS 2 Hero Edition unboxing up on my channel!
Portal 2:
Pros:
Fun game
Hilarious dialouge
Differnt style of gaming
Long puzzles that can be hard to complete, but are ver satisfying when you do.
Long campaign.
Seperate multiplayer campaign.
ITS PORTAL
Great story with lots of plot twists.
Many varying enviourments, Such as in the beggining where the lab has a ruined overgrown look to it, the middle where its back to normal and near the end where, well you'll find out once you get there.
Cons:
not very good replay value.
Somtimes its kinda hard to do puzzels, i dont consider it a con, i like a chanllenge but for som people they might not like it.
Well, simple, if you've got the money BUY BOTH! :tongue.gif:
If not:
P2:
I've played it, it basically depends on what genre you prefer the most. This game has many puzzles in it, if you like platforming-esque-puzzlers, you'll love it. When you complete the puzzles, it's very satisfactory to go through the fizzler and laugh at GLaDOS in the face! The graphics are quite nice, it has a funny and quite realistic (not like other games, they just throw you in and you start chopping people up....) storyline. IMO, it is a great game, you'll enjoy it (unless you DEFINATELY just HATE puzzlers).
MK:
I can't speak for the newer versions of the series, I have the very first ones that came out for the PS2; kinda old, you might guess. Also depends on the genres you like. In this game, you can break every bone in the guy's body, you can decapitate him(her) with your fists, you can pull out their lungs and heart(s) and watch them slowly die and bleed out. Some newer versions (I think) have this little system that you can use to see which bones you've broken and the like. It has many intricate maps that you can interact with (break the glass in a tower to push the opponent to the streets and continue chopping them up there).
In my opinion, you should get P2 (again, I can't speak for the newer versions of MK, I have the old ones, just saying), unless you like chopping up people with magical green arrows. It's really up to you.

Even if you never played the first Portal game, you'll love it (unless you happen to absolutely hate puzzles).
My roommate wasn't all that thrilled with the first Portal game, but he loved Portal 2 for the dialogue and story alone.

Haha.
Very awesome, great video.
I've loved that game ever since playing it on Sega Genesis years ago. Raiden ftw.
