I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
-Pigmen should not just be enemies, but for humans too. There AI in Minecraft is to attack anything that attacks them.
-There should be TNT launchers for humans, there sort of "mega-weapon".
-Human Cavalry: They would ride pigs toward the enemy army! Epicness!
-Slime Monsters: The "mega-weapon" of the enemies, they are extremely effective at destroying infantry, and split into equally annoying slimes when killed.
Human Archer- Not sure if this was mentioned, but a variety of humans would be good.
-Skeletal Cavalry- Skeletons riding spiders, an equal to the human cavalry.
-Rouge Wolf- A wolf that is killed by a zombie has a 25% chance of coming back as an undead, red-eyed wolf.
-Rouge Spider- A spider killed by a human has a 15% chance of rebelling and can be mounted.
Each faction will also have an environmental ability, that is extremely expensive and would only be used around the end of a match.
Humans- Brightness of Notch- The Sun becomes super-bright, and zombies and skeletons not under cover will burn to death, creepers will become temporarly slow, and spiders not under cover will permanently become allied with the humans. This will last 30 seconds.
Undead- Herobrine's Shadow- The moon and clouds cover the sky, making things for the humans much harder to see. Human farms for mining will drop slightly, and farms that invlove animals will drop drastically. Zombies and skeletons regenerate health, creepers speed up, and spiders can mount buildings, making them harder to hit, and the building weaker.
Yep, I play way too many RTS games, but I still feel these are good ideas.
Creepers, smarter than the average AI...
Lolwut?
You're welcome.
Yeah sorry guys, too many brackets, thanks, Stewie-- I just got back home and saw your post and fixed
So kinds like wild monsters?
You mean like siege units?
Hell to the yes!
And of course, both sides would have wolf units.

Nope. :wink.gif:
Any offers, guys? I'd need to be able to spawn mobs and items and design/take pictures of them. If there's no offers, I can do it in SSP, but it seems like a fun idea to have the buildings designed in a SMP server.
I would love to supply you with an SMP server, but I promised my family I would keep it private to just them. I love RTS games and I love Minecraft, this game will be the most bad-ass of all bad-ass games. Also, I have about 3 years experience with Game Maker Pro, though I still suck at making **** :biggrin.gif: If you ever get stuck at trying to make something work that doesn't include actual code, let me take a look at it, I have much more complicated, but working ways to do stuff and they might fix some of you problems. All in all, I can't wait. Oh, and if you don't mind, wanna send me the .gmk file every once in a while? That would be awesome :biggrin.gif:
I moderate these forums as much as I can despite not being a moderator.
I strongly support:
Better clouds
Natural Disasters
More uses for The Nether
However, I will be posting "Technical" posts every now and then describing what I'm adding and how it works, a la the post above about "Goals, Tasks, and Objectives". If you follow along you'll learn some RTS concepts and possibly a few snippets of code. :smile.gif:
No worries about the server. If you and your family create any designs for buildings, give me a shout and a screenie. :smile.gif:
P.S, just added the banner (that seems to be getting widespread) to the first page and also going to update the supporters list.
2d would be kinda difficult from the perspective you describe(like some 3d game which would be "2.5d") because you'd need at least 8 different sprites for each direction, including all the animations(or 5 if you don't mind random hand swapping.). If you are going 2d, I think the best option would be pre-rendered 3d animations. That way it'd be easy to get your sprites without having to redo it several times. I can understand hand-made sprites when it comes to the UI, just not the units.
EDIT: Excuse me if this was previously mentions. :\
Think hand-held Pokemon games.
EDIT: Derp, I mean the GBA/GBC ones. Not the fancy DS ones with 3d...
EDIT: ...graphics.
By the way, Source Cove sounds like a cool website name. :smile.gif:
One question though: Can Macs run gamemaker games? Sorry for what's most likely a stupid question, I have little experience with gamemaker.
