Poison headcrabs and their corresponding zombies in Half-Life 2. I never finished the Ravenholm level because I kept getting so freaked out. (Well, that and because the thing autosaved when I was out of ammo in a location where you've got maybe three or four seconds before a bunch of baddies show up.)
Ilya Pasternak, from Ace Combat 6. This guy actually gave me Post Dramatic Stress (on a minor scale, but still). You're just flying along, liberating the capitol while the best song in the game plays, when all of a sudden, BAM! He shows up in this, and starts doing roughly once every 3 SECONDS. And that's ignoring the literal horde of physics-defying (even by Ace Combat standards) UCAVs he has supporting him.
On Ace, the guy still gives me trouble from time to time.
Don't really get scared from video game bosses :tongue.gif: but one that i should point out that gave me some discomfort was the dark shadow boss thing in fable 3. simply because i had no idea what i was up against :smile.gif:. also a boss that i didnt find scary but really thrilling to fight was crawmerax in borderlands. killed him about 25 times now, and alot of fun :smile.gif:
If you go too far out in the water, you hear a strange noise, and then a shark jumps up to eat you. When I first played the game, I didn't hear the sound, so it scared the **** out of me and I screamed, waking my parents up at 5:00 AM.
I haven't played many games with "ohjeezuswhatthe****killitkillitkillit" enemies, but some are scary for a while, e.g. Hunters when you first play L4D. There's also the subtle, chilling kind of scary, which goes 100% to Sovereign from Mass Effect. Just watch the first conversation with him, and you get what I mean
"You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it"
