And Valve just got owned by Mojang. Notch company will face in the final with Bioware which won against Blizzard
Finals!
Semi-Finals are on today, Mojang vs Valve and Blizzard vs Bioware
And 4th round began, Now it is Mojang vs Obsidian.
I vote Mojang, why? Because you can own Obsidian in Minecraft ... :biggrin.gif:
(and seriosuly not keen of O games, had bit of a pickle choosing Blizzard vs Square Enix, love them both but must say FF7 + CT are higher than Starcraft + Diablo so with sad choice leaving one of them behind I decided vote this time on Square)

Just now a 3rd round started in The Escapist magazine vote for best game developer.
Mojang, after winning against Nintendo in 1st round and Namco in 2nd, faces Epic Games in this round.
I'm sorry, I'm not being a hater. Mojang is good, but Epic is ....epic.
The UT engine dominates the market, and once you've gone through the
double kill,
multi kill,
mega kill,
ultra kill,
monster kill,
LUDACRIS &
HOLY SH*T!!
you are sold. It's a rush.
But it's close competition.
Epic has the veteran status though, so they get my vote.

I played unreal GOTY 1999, still love that game, I like mojang, minecraft is REALLY unique and fun, but my vote goes for epic games, they've just been around longer, they make really good games, though, I hope valve wins in the end.
Valve kicked other companies' asses. And now they kick Activision's ass in being greedy. Have you seen Hat Fortress 2? A hollow, empty, soulless shell of what was once a great game.
At least they're not charging 15 bucks for a few extra maps.
Also, in the Mojang vs Epic battle I'm behind Epic. They made Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and that's my favorite nostalgic game :biggrin.gif:
Not to mention they made Gears of War and Shadow Complex.
It's a tough call in certain ways, not so much in others.
Honestly? I would probably give it to Epic. As much as I love MC, The Unreal Engine has had such a broad and lasting impact on the industry that it's hard to ignore it. In the long run though, it's hard to say which will have more of impact though. People are starting to/have already taken notice of Minecraft and the oodles and oodles of money it's raked in.
Oh not this **** again. I remember last year's, when Zynga (makes facebook games; i.e. Farmville, Mafia Wars) got to the semi-finals and finally got brought down by either Valve or Blizzard, I don't remember.
At least Zynga got knocked out in the first round.
Haha! I was actually going to mention that contest in a topic I'm about to write. And mentioning Mojang against ANYTHING, you could have it be Mojang Vs. China and you would get more supporters for Mojang than China's military unfortunatly payed for by the liberal nutwhacks manning the USA.
So yes, Mojang.
And why were people claiming that Bungie has just been re-releasing the same game 4 times for the last decade? I mean, they've all had different gameplay, new weapons and enemies, better graphics (excluding ODST) and each adds to the existing, VERY GOOD, story. Not like what Irrational's doing with that new Bioshock Infinity (yes I know they spell it with an "E", but thats wrong!) thing, where its completely different than the existing Bioshock games yet still bears the label.

If Bethesda or Valve doesn't win in the end, I will cry until my eyeballs fall out.
Honestly, Valve kicks other game companies asses so I wouldn't doubt if it wins.
Not to mention they made Gears of War and Shadow Complex.
Don't get me wrong, most Epic Games(No pun intended)are fun, especially the Unreal Tournament series, but Minecraft is just...
The best game ever.
EDIT: Just for clarification, I can't vote as I don't have an account and am not really willing to sign up for one.

Honestly... Mojang beat Nintendo. The company that basically invented gaming as we know it.
If they can beat Nintendo I don't see why they can't beat Epic.
I honestly don't know why Mojang won. Nintendo is by far better then Mojang. But, if Mojang beats Epic Games, there is no way Mojang would beat Valve.
At least Notch releases updates frequently.
My point was that Mojang doesn't work in Valve time.
But it was mostly a joke post anyway.
That works.
At least Zynga got knocked out in the first round.
So yes, Mojang.

Mojang vs Blizzard
These will be very close calls.
