So.. sorry if this is in the wrong section but here goes: Can I use the rock band mic to chat over xbox live? i doubt it, but its the closest thing I have to a mic.

nah man, in order to chat via xbox live, your "headset" has to consist of the two parts, one being the microphone, and two, being an earpiece (headset). So, in this curcumstance, you can't.
