The only Sandbox MMO that I know is EVE Online.
That one costs though, so git a jerb.

And like the baseless fabric of this vision, the cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, the giant Screen itself, all of which we inherit shall dissolve. And, like an insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a byte behind.
This one isn't an MMO and very early in development, but there's a bright future in front of it: blockade runner website: http://blockaderunnergame.com Also tell people that wurm online is one of the most confusing games. Why? BECAUSE IT FRIKIN' IS!!!
. MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online (Game). Roblox is 100% MMO and Minecraft is too (in MP)
Runescape has big world - Sandbox
Mabinogi - i have no idea about this thing because ive never heard of it.
1) MMO generally means that there are a lot of people on each server (That is why it is 'Massively Multiplayer'), that there are persistent servers and ALL MMOs are designed for multiplayer and therefore usually do not have much singleplayer capabilities, if any. MMOs always have a large player-base, that is one of the defining features.
Minecraft is not an MMO, Minecraft is a singleplayer game with multiplayer capabilities. Roblox calls itself an MMO but I have never played it so I cannot say whether this is true or not.
2) Sandbox has nothing to do with large worlds, you are thinking of open-world (Minecraft is also open-world). Sandbox means that the player has near full control over the game and the world within.
Runescape is not a sandbox game. It is an open-world game. There is a difference.
