Well, I went ahead and bought a used copy of Platinum. I traded over the last owner's party of Pokemon, as to keep a memento of the kind soul who sold his game so that I could buy it. They were all extremely high-level Pokemon, all over them over level 60, his Infernape level ****ing 98.
Anyway, here's my team so far:
Glacier the Piplup, level 14.
Nicole the Shinx, level 12.
Tailwind the Starly, level 12.
Crescendo the Eevee, level 12 (traded, currently disobedient).

why would you trade in an eevee so early
why
Because Espeon is the best Eeveelution and I'll persevere despite the disobedience
besides he's obedient again now that I have gardenia's badge
After learning I couldn't catch a Sneasel in SoulSIlver, I cried myself into a nap. Then I woke up and caught a Jynx. (Lv. 22). Then I went south of the Safari Zone, and caught myself a ute little Seel. Now, I need an Ice type, but I can't decide between the two. Im leaning towards Seel, because its evolution is my second favorite Ice type.
Mamoswine devours all. Seriously. Ice shard is cool beans, despitelow poer. Mamoswine's Attack makes up for it.
I've recently realized that the Ground type is pretty coo'. MAMOSWIIIIIIINE. GOOOOLEEEM. GODDAMN GROUDOOOOOOOON.

Plus, the Ground+Ice combo is superb against Red's Pikachu.

I am NOT going to see friend requests, so stop sending them.
Im only catching an Ice type because im going up against Blackthron City Gym (Wich was always a *****, all the way back to Gold...) and I like Ice types. I guess Ill try out a Mamoswine.
Ground types are basically pure win injected with steroids. Especially when it comes to mother****ing Flygon.

Actually, Ice types are pretty solid attackers. Once you get the National Dex, give Walrein a spin. (Spheal-Sealo-Walrien) Very, VERY good. Much more beefy then Dewgong.

i dont know how you guys can bear the newer ones. fire red and leaf green ftw. original 151 ftw. original series of pokemon ftw.
new series of pokemon is bad because they already went past the limit of pokemon. new pokemons are silly just because. also alot of people want to **** gardevoirs from what i hear.
Usually I'm pretty good at dechiphering weirdly worded posts, but you've got me stumped.
Going past the limit of Pokemon even though there isn't one? No legitimate reason given for why everything from 151 onwards is silly? Nostalgia goggles detected.

Tailwind the Starly, level 12.
Crescendo the Eevee, level 12 (traded, currently disobedient).
Quilava, Lv.33
Dodrio, Lv. 31
Kingler, Lv. 32
Arbok, Lv. 31
Ampharos, Lv. 33.
And Im trying to get a female Sneasel, but Icy Path is being a *****.
But seriously guys, get a Mareep.
No really.
Seriously.
They kick ass.
No really go.
kbye.

how about we'll agree that they're all pretty cool and roll from there
and if you meant EV training I've never done that in my life
I forgot how much I loved Pokemon.
And Ice Fang is an Ice move, and we all know how useful those are against a certain Johto Gym Leader...

Train a 'mon you've never used before. Not Goldeen, though. Goldeen sucks. ALOOOOOOT.
Level 20.
Imagine Charles Darwin meets cockfighting
