I'm gonna buy Lego Jurassic World & the DLC for Skyrim.
Edit: That failed. My sister decided she'd rather Lego Indiana Jones 2 (thankfully it's a lot cheaper) and Bethesda jacked up the prices of Skyrim's DLC... soo yeah.
Have never really understood the Steam sales to be honest. Why on earth do you people bother paying money for and collecting games, only to never even download over half of them, let alone play them?

I think mostly this comes from bundles.
Any bundle I buy (I rarely do) from something like Humblebundle I'm 100% sure I won't play all the games in it, but I always play the games I buy from the sale.
I'm considering picking up either Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn. Kinda' on the fence between 'em. Or maybe I'll just start a new Titan Quest (already owned) campaign. /shrug

I suggest picking up Subnautica. Then again... it's because I bought it at full price before the sale and have been enjoying it ever since... so much that I may miss out on the Star Trek Online ship for the summer event. Not that it matters as it's not a space luxury liner...
Playing less video games and watching more anime recently, but I might pick up Cities: Skylines. I kind of miss the old flash sales where there were crazy sales, this one is kind of boring and meh.
I was kind of hoping that they'd put Hearts of Iron 4 on sale (it just came out a couple weeks ago, but Stellaris is on sale and it only came out a couple weeks before HOI4), so I'm waiting there. I'm kinda happy with the games I already have, but I might get a quicker strategy game or possibly an RPG like Fallout.

It would be pretty chaotic on Steam's end to have flash sales now that they also have a refund policy as every flash sale would likely result in a deluge of folks seeking refunds to take advantage of the lower price.

I definitely suggest picking up TL2 its a great time sink!
Also Grow Home is another great game just to relax on
I was thinking of picking up Space Engineers, then I saw all the negative reviews...
As someone who has owned and enjoyed the game (single player) for the past year or so, I would highly recommend it to anyone who simply wants to build space ships/stations (i.e. if you enjoy Minecraft for the creative building aspect, you'd likely enjoy Space Engineers). One can build anything from a simple shuttle to a mining station to a capital ship to drones (drone AI can be done with sensors, gyroscopes, and timers or via LUA script). Looking at the sale price of $7.50, I'd say it's definitely worth it at that price.
If you're looking for survival adventure and combat, SE is rather rudimentary in that regard. Enemy AI is rather basic (spawn in and either follow a set route or fly directly at the player, depending on auto-locking turrets to deal damage from afar) and survival gets rather repetitive (find resource, craft components/fuel/oxygen, build stuff, rinse and repeat).
It's my understanding a lot of the SE negativity comes from online server connection issues. I haven't played multiplayer so can't really comment on it. I'll also note that one needs a rather beefy computer with a direct X11 compatible graphics card to run the game. It's also a bit of a RAM hound, I can't play on planets with 4GB RAM (but can still play in space). Load times are also a few minutes long.
Check out some Space Engineers-oriented youtube channels if you want to see what one can build before you buy it. Some channels worth checking out are w4stedspace, Video Sage, and Dream Assembly.

Picked it up on Saturday, though have only played about a half hour of it so far.
Played a few hours of Thea over the weekend, it's a really interesting mix of 4x strategy, survival, and card battles.
I might try getting Skyrim Legendary Edition for the DLCs (way too much gold, Hearthfire will be useful) and so I can get Remastered Edition once it comes out. (You get it for free if you buy all the DLCs and the base game.)

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Nah the sale is pretty garbage compared to the last ones or so.
I'll just go play Solitaire.
I have the unpopular opinion, but I beg to differ. This sale, you don't have to constantly monitor the sale for the lowest price like an overprotecting mom watching her kid on a rollercoaster (ok that was a bit of a weird analogy). Also, I'm OK with the sale being a bit more boring since now we have a FANTASTIC refund system. I mean, I would agree that it is a bit boring but I don't think it's garbage.

Do you think this aspect of the game will improve? It the way I play Minecraft and Subnautica as well as any other game that has a free roam surival mode.

Yeah? Well I have less reason to sit in front of this thing with that excuse.
That and uhh the sales aren't as high I guess.

Honestly, I don't think improving survival is a priority for the devs at the moment. Most of the updates for the past few months (after planets & pirate drones) have mostly been bug fixes, not much in the way of content updates. If you primarily want survival content, SE is a bit bare-bones to recommend.
There's another similar game I've seen folks mention called Empyrion that supposedly has a more fleshed out survival mode. I have not played it so I cannot comment on how good it is (and quite frankly I find its aesthetics somewhat off-putting), but it may be worth looking into if survival is your thing.

None. Don't really play games anymore anyway.

Y'know? I bought Minecraft because I thought it was a war game where you had to create tactically placed proximity explosive devices...

None because I have no money.
You can just call me Canary.
How not to look like a total fool in the forum games

Picked up Thea: The Awakening (strategy game), Torchlight 2 (action rpg), and King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match (fighting game).

Picked up a couple.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Subnautica (Terrifying)
Zombie Army Trilogy, using it to stream with some friends. So much fun.
