The downside about this is the fact that there are so many things to take into account, from weapon magazine size to Tank Armour. But in the Forum Game I am making you don't have to take all that into consideration. If you see a Tank unit on the Battlefield you know what kind of stats it has. You don't need to worry about armour thickness and such.
Well, from my solution, it would be better if you start a game with basic core game mechanics first, then gradually goes one step as the players learns more about the game itself, making a game looks like it was a very complex game, a little less complex and keep the players interested in a long run. Like for example, you'll start off fighting with infantry vs infantry battle. When you're progresses through various stages in game, you'll be able to 'pressure' them with advanced equipment and even more dangerous enemy with confusing stats, but in a small amount per stage.
In other words, if a game was too complex and highly brain twisted to begin with. Try something small and basic first for the players to understand the game first, then you can squeeze some other things you want in your game, but not too much or otherwise it would be too confusing.
I think starwars hype was flooding the net and it really put me off making any original space world. Now that it seems to be over, and me being excited for Paizo's starfinder, i think I might like to work the project a bit. If you two are still up for it (Merit, Ult).
A forum game like that sounds like a blast

Anyway, my resistance RP is almost done, but I still need a good title for it... Anyone got any suggestions? 'The Resistance' sounds kinda dull...
It's actually gonna be a roleplay. Because everyone loves roleplaying macho soldiers wielding M60s, spraying bullets on evil commies with a background piece painted yellow by the flash of a nuclear detonation mushroom.
And call it "Raise of The Resistance".

I'm a bit of a novice at making RPs and RPing myself. I'd also like a small bit of feedback on the world building portion, if anybody is used to world building.
The only input I have is that saying there can only be one human in the OP, then taking that human character for yourself is probably not going to win you any points. Adding in a rare race is alright, but immediately making it where only you get the privilege of having a character with that race basically makes it pointless to even include. Maybe allow two or three or figure something out so that it doesn't look like you're being selfish.

That's better. And sorry if I'm flip-flopping a bit here, but it all really depends on exactly HOW rare humans are. Like, if there's only 200 humans in the world with a total world population of a million, then yeah, it would be a VERY small chance of even getting one human aboard. Come up with a percentage of human-to-total population of your world, then apply that percentage to the total number of crew your ship will have. If it turns out as only one human on the ship, then maybe consider figuring out a way to let someone else who really wants to have the human character be the human. Personally, if I were to have only one of a particular race, I'd ask if anyone wanted to have the character in that race and one of three outcomes will happen:
1. Nobody will want it. In this case, you're free to have it yourself.
2. One person will want it. In this case, the slot can go to that person.
3. Multiple people will want it. In a case like this, I'd use RNG to pick who will have the character (always provide proof, though.). You can use a different method, if you so choose, but RNG is the most fair.
Sorry if this doesn't help at all. Just something I thought of because I have a tendency to type before I fully think things out.

I think I'll leave it at how it is. There can be a max of 3 humans. There are few hundred humans left in that area, but they're steadily declining. I chose to keep them rare because many people will choose humans, as they're easy to relate to, but it really screws with variety. I'm not usually a human in fantasy RPs which is why I chose one now. Makes sense?
I think it's a good topic for the role-playing discussion topic.
Races
I can understand why people want to have a selection of races to choose from, especially if you have theme to your RP or your basing it in already established lore. But race creation is also an important part of character design, so you've have created a world that has inspired a potential player to have a part in it and they have an idea in their head about how that character is going to behave and act. If they could create a strawman race with these attributes then its a physical aid to the design process.
So what do people think? Selection or customisation?
Depends on how much control the GM has. If the GM wants a lot of control over the characters selection is the best option, since the GM can dictate what the perks for each class are. If one wants a RP that is more of an open world, customisation is best.
That's one of the reasons I chose the creatures I did. Most of them have been used in many forms of media. I know how it feels to be constricted to a list purely created by the GM, so, to allow more freedom, I chose Dryads, Giants, Naga, and Naiads, ect. They've all been extremely popular in literature and movies for as far back as the middle ages. Stuff kind of like that. Too many races would be unrealistic, as we only have one on earth. Anything over five is a huge stretch. The list of races "stabilizes" the immersion, in my opinion.
Being given creative freedom on a huge aspect of your character such as being able to create a custom race most definitely adds both to individual enjoyment and the sense of involvement in a world.
However, there is an effect I like to call 'sqeezing' where if given freedom over their character abilities (such as racial abilitys, but really any time in which a player can create their own powers) the common player will squeeze as many powers in as they can. This often results in 'complex' (*COUGH*) abominations such as half-angel-half-demon werewolf-vampires with the ability to turn into a dragon.
I'll admit, It took me quite a while before I realised that these characters are actually really boring, you should try taking into account what others will think of your character, even if they think it is weird or stupid, weird and stupid is always better than bland. To create interesting characters though, I believe you need weaknesses; characters need flaws.
As for your RP Epicdinoman, first up, humans are faster and stronger than vampires, in fact, it seems vampires are only fast enough to catch Giant's and Nagas, I'm guessing they would primarily live off of Nagas in this world, you know except for the fact that these Nagas are poisonous archers who can probably swallow vampires whole if they do manage to sneak up on them.
The limiting humans thing then playing a human yourself is a very off-putting, especially considering your humans have the best statistics, think of it this way, if I made a 'medieval fantasy x Dinosaur jousting' RP where I was 'the chosen one' with a golden lance that charges up with sunlight, one more person gets a sunlance, but everyone else has to use a normal metal lance, would you consider joining?
I recommend leaving the statistics blank and allowing players to chose their stats (given a set amount of points.) It would balance out stats (some view Charisma as a dump stat, even your humans seem to not even include charisma) additionally it would allow for interesting characters such as a really smart minotaur or a weak giant.
I also recommend at least including one more 'human-like' race, like elves or a hylian-equivalent or something. Some people feel uncomfortable playing non-humans in a fantasy setting, you might even be one of them considering you're taking one of the only four human slots.
