Strangely, the moment of realize when one or more threads at Forum Game are more RP active than in Forum Roleplaying (other than a very old Ulti's Bar & Grill RP thread), as it was already exceeded over 100 pages worth of roleplaying from the last few weeks to a few months ago.
Well hey, at least someone acknowledges that my RP is still going strong. Funny thing is, it started as a forum game before I turned it into a roleplay.

Arguments happen, they just do, you can't stop it, no matter how much power you have, even if it takes years to settle, when it does, everyone is stronger for it. Rivalries can be made into friendships if you let them.
Some ideas are meant to be made into reality, but most need to be burned at the stake.
Hating the things you love
Yeah but game posts take a less effort to write up. Darthrafael does however create interesting games, both RP and play-by-post. We are however having a small renaissance in the RP section, probably because of the summer holidays.
I'm glad you think my Forum Games are interesting!
But yes, my activity was mostly due to my excess free time due to the summer holidays, which has come to an end. I have way too many ideas for RPs floating around in my head, yet so little time to actually make them. I'm planning on making one more that is a sort of crossover between the RP style my RPs have been having (in which characters are free to do what they want) and an RP with a GM/DM (me) who controls the events. I've posted a bit about it on my profile (which I have been using to post a lot of RP ideas) if you're interested in knowing what my plan is.
I do think we have similar interests of classic strategy games, and I would play more of your forum games but I'm already pushing the limits of what I can manage.
Strategy Games are fun
I also have an idea roaming my head for a forum game where every player controls a number of units and they have to work together to defeat an enemy (played by me.) Think Steel Panthers (if you've ever heard of it) Multiplayer against on 'AI' with an advantage in numbers and such.
But yeah, I won't have too much time, so I could only update the Forum Game in the weekends (and occasionally on Wednesdays) ...
Hmm, that's funny.. I do have one thread that was based on limited amount of units and resources, but somehow poorly executed and now sinks under without a single response made by other players.
I think it needed a story or background or setting or some kind of narrative, ie, what war are we fighting? Who's the enemy? What's the campaign objective?
I have yet to decide on what the enemy is called and such, but I plan on letting the players decide what kind of theatre the war will be fought in. A desert theatre means lots of open space for tanks. A Pacific/Island theatre means lots of water so no room for tanks, etc. So the theatre of war chosen by the players determines what unit types will be most useful.
I haven't forgotten about my RP idea yet either, so don't worry about that. I'll likely post its thread within a few days.
Hmm, how about this.. Inspired from an old Forum Game that you're playing as the individuals soldiers in WWII, and now expand into more of a tactical game. This time, you're not going to play the Soviets, nor the U.S, but now you're playing and commanding as a Commonwealth's paratrooper regiments in a semi fictitious settings of WWII. Under your glorious British high command, your goal is to disrupt the Germans logistics and supply lines, so that our main allied army will be able to push through the beaches of Normandy, and all the way to Berlin before the Soviets will have a chance to seize the capital of Germany in 1945.
At the beginning, you're started with only one Area of Operation behind enemy line from their front coastal defenses. As the game progresses, more stuffs and other things will be available to you.

The downside about this is the fact that there are so many things to take into account, from weapon magazine size to Tank Armour. But in the Forum Game I am making you don't have to take all that into consideration. If you see a Tank unit on the Battlefield you know what kind of stats it has. You don't need to worry about armour thickness and such.
Dang... Things like this remind me why I never got into any other RP on here. Too complex for my simple mind. I came close with that one space RP, but that, of course, is either cancelled or put on hold.

That's why my Forum Game is not going for such realism. Some people might like large amounts of realism, but for others it's too complex. A game where every unit has 'stats' that are available from the start and don't change is easier for people to get into than a game with massive amounts of variables like armour thickness, armour angle, obstacles, distance to target, type of projectile, etc that determine whether you're gonna do any damage or not.
tl;dr: My game is going to be more 'casual' than Alfieq's game, in an attempt to be easier for people to join that don't like overly complex mechanics.
Have you seen my RP? It's not even that complex. I created it mostly for people like myself who just want to dive in with an idea and see where it takes them. You might have a typical medieval knight character coming in, but after a story arc or two, he/she would wind up with cybernetic arm implants because knights apparently need those.

Yeah, I've seen it. I've considered popping in a few times, but I've decided against it for various reasons.
You know you've made it when an RP you run has persisted five years.

Ughh I made a post on Stones and it says it was marked as spam... by myself? On 4/9... which is tomorrow? Is my future self trolling my posts?
So you're a time-travelling troll? Or maybe a time traveler hacked (or WILL hack) your account.
