((Ended up going to my friends party for about two or three hours. I was put into a "smash bros tournament," as he had his WiiU set up, and so I managed to place 4th out of 16 as Ryu. Ryu's in smash bros for some reason now, I don't really know why.))
((I did however spend most of my time watching really old free domain monster movies, which I have a lot of respect for doing a lot with what little they had. I think what horror is missing now is they just throw out too much. Tone it back, play some more on the psychological side rather than the "shock and gore" side, and things would probably improve.))
((Ah whatever, I'll put this into spoilers.))
((What's worse, Genocide makes you love every character even more when you force yourself to kill them. I know this is a quote from somewhere, I forget what, but it goes "people only show their true nature when their lives are on the line." And really, it made me love every character just that little bit more learning what they would do and fight for in their final moments. It's too bad that you have to literally become the villain of the story to do these things though, killing everyone and whatnot, and learning the true nature of your character as you venture deeper into your slaughter. Genocide's also cemented that Asriel is my favorite character in the game, simply because of the fact that he never really has grown up at all. Yes, the whole deal with losing compassion and pretty much all feelings but hate and malice turned him into what he became, but deep inside he was still that child that just wanted to have fun and be loved; by you.))
((It also took me far too long to realize this, but Asriel's name is a combination of Asgore and Toriel.))
((Ah, Bobert, thank you so much.))
((I had to do that all on my phone really quick, so that's why I edited it a lot. It's really hard when your arm's numb because someone's cut off your circulation by sleeping on you.))
((I'll be back in the morning, probably.))
((I think Ryu's in Smash Bros. because they voted him in or something. I personally adore the decision, mostly due to all of the salty smash fans who can't figure out something as simple as a quarter-circle.))
((We watched a one-and-a-half star horror movie. It was a very, very enjoyable experience. Characters would enter and act like they were going to be the focus of the story and randomly get run over by a car, and all of us would burst out laughing.))
Yeah, Asgore's terrible at naming things. It explains a lot when you think about it, from the area names ("Hotland", "Waterfall", etcetera) to Flowey's name.
I haven't actually gone and done a Genocide run yet (if I do I'll quit before the end), but the favorite quote I've come across from it so far is from Burgerpants:
"I can't go to Hell, I'm all out of vacation days."
My favorite character is definitely still Mettaton, though. Even before he became absolutely fabulous, he managed to steal the show so many times, even managing to do it while offscreen due to things like his own hotel. His motivations were amazing, the impossible-to-lose minigames were clever, and his boss battle was my favorite in the game by far, due to being an amazing mix of an RPG, a shoot-em-up, and Devil May Cry with all of it's bizarre posing and the Style Meter.
((Wow Lavul, nice work. I think I'm inspired to get going some more. Let's finish this up! You too Bobert, of course. lol.))
((*Sees spoilers* *Opens* *Closes* Nope, too long. Plus, no spoilers for Undertale for me!))
((Thanks. Not much to do until you and/or Maple Waifu come up with something now, unfortunately.
What I'm really itching for is some constructive criticism, though. I know I've doled out a lot of it over the years, but it feels strange not getting very much myself. Anything that I could use work on? Or at least anything that I did really well that I should focus more on? I want to make the next RP as good as possible, and I think that involves bettering myself as well.))
((Waifu needs to get it, too. Someone as sweet as him needs to play a game where you're rewarded for being so sweet.))

((Yeah. Bobert and I have been finishing up my last post. Ideas being tossed back and forth for what'd work best. I also have one last character to write up on my own too, but that doesn't require Bobert.
For anything you could focus on... I'd say do more of those collabs. I think that last post was really amazing looking. It seemed much more put together, interactive, and flowed really nicely. I don't think Bobert and my post are going to come close to it, nor any other post in the rest of the RP, so something you did there really hit it. Possibly work on more connections to other characters?
I'd also like to propose a 'character connection' requirement in the next RP. A list of other characters you're connected to in SOME way (Doesn't have to say what, but saying so would be nice) that aren't your own, that way you have something to interact with another character. I like the thought of someone's character, having directly, or indirectly, affected someone else's character. "You bombed my village, now I want you dead!" but waiting until the right moment. "You helped my mother throughout tough times, now I'm going to repay that deb." or just "You're my aunt, family sticks together. I never knew you before, but I'll stand by your side." Could end up being some really interesting stuff, just starting with a simple seed of *Is connected to X character*))

((I was about to say, "well my character Gen is a thief, it's possible he could have robbed from practically every character so far, considering he's been a thief for about 10+ years." I only have three things from Gen's past that's going to haunt him for right now, and I'd rather that every character doesn't hate him. He's already got two that hate him (though they're my own characters), and the fact that he's going to be a known criminal with a bounty on his head already makes him a target.))
((I feel kind of sad now that I haven't done a collab. My posts have almost always been lacking in details, due to the fact that I'm far better at dialogue and world building than I am descriptiveness like, "he swings his sword precisely, clashing their weapons together with sparks as sweat poured down his forehead." Usually I'd just do, "and he swung his sword, locking against the others weapon," or something less intensive. I blame that on D&D though. I'd put all of my focus on setting and characters, and we'd use the little diorama sets so that I wouldn't really have to worry about being descriptive of what's going on and around the characters.
That being said though, I'll make sure to pour my all into every post in the next RP, and be as descriptive as I need to be.))

THIS is the reason why I don't want the words minecraft or herobrine or anything related to those two anywhere in the next RP.))

So, Lavulman, I'll personally rot in hell if I ruined the game for you in any way, and the same goes for Tek and Bobert, because if I've ruined anyone's experience, I'd feel absolutely terrible.))

I had played the demo two years ago and learned for myself that there would be different outcomes, but I feel as though I've robbed you all of that experience. So I can't honestly apologize enough you guys, and I only hope you're still okay with me after all this.))
((I'm really only saying these things because if the game was ruined for me, I'm pretty dang sure I'd have nothing to do with the person who ruined it for me. When a game is 100% story driven like Undertale, a single little thing can ruin the whole experience, and I feel like I've done that for you guys.))
((I can easily compare it to spoiling a book before you even read it. It's pretty much like me saying, "oh hey, in Mistborn, Kelsier pretty much kills himself," and you're instantly turned off from wanting to read it.))

((The thing about collabs is that they take a long time to do. Like, that one took two weeks to finish, and we were doing at least one "turn" a day, which is why I wanted to do them at the end. That's also probably the reason it worked so well; we each had the time to slow down and focus on characters and dialogue and subtlety (though I'll blatantly explain where I was going with that as many times as I feel like in the OOC) and stuff. There's no rushed character development or crummy finales to work around and we could just sort of shine.))
((Idunno, I feel like we could just have our characters interact with each other more. We didn't do too much of that here, unfortunately, but I also think it's really fun to see two characters go from not knowing or caring for each other at the beginning to being inseparable by the end.))

Personally, I hate how many people have never played this game and just watched it on Youtube or something. If it's some pretentious walking simulator like The Beginner's Guide or Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, then fine, but I think Undertale loses a lot of it's punch when characters are trying to talk to you, but end up talking to some Let's Player.))
((Stop beating yourself up, Kohai.))
((Idunno, you could have just told me that there were absolutely fabulous robots and I would have been in.))
((I think that's a given when you have an option to not kill certain characters in a video game. The idea that none of your choices would matter and lead to one mediocre ending has already proven itself to be a terrible one (e.g. Bioshock Infinite).))

There's actually more to that by the way, but it would be much better if I didn't tell you, because it makes a certain line of dialogue in the pacifist route just that much sweeter. But, it does explain why a ghost robot could so, fabulous, I guess.
((Well, be prepared for a bad time if you want to go through genocide then. I had no idea what to expect out of Undertale besides what I had already played in the demo, and even then that was a minuscule amount. I think it's just the fact that demo gave me a mixed response and lowered my standards that the game seriously shines to me, showing that a game that is actually finished is the kind of game you want to play. I've heard some people say that Mettaton is supposed to be trans, is that it? Dunno if it's true or if Mettaton was just effeminate, but I suppose some of his dialogue about how he's finally found a body that matches his feelings and all of that kind of reflects that.
((Yeah, I've seen some things. I'm going to have to do a genocide run and hope I know what you're talking about if you don't tell me what this mystical thing is, though.
Though I will tell you that there's a way to access a hard mode in the game already, it just isn't finished yet. You'll know what to put into the name entry screen if you finished a Pacifist run.))
((I always thought that Chara was more of a placeholder name. The Fallen Child has always been much more appealing if you ask me, what with the parallels to mythology and all that.))

Alright, I'll just tell you because there's just enough evidence given to you in the pacifist route to justify this. Basically, you know once Mettaton starts getting all of those calls, and "he's" clearly able to tell the first caller is napstablook, and calls him "blooky." If you use the key you get from Bratty and Catty, you can enter the house next to Blook's. There's a journal in there claiming that they were a cousin to Napstablook, and that they wanted to be on the stage. There's a certain passage that concludes Mettaton is actually a woman, and that she had some affections towards Napstablook, which makes them sort of "being together" in the end credits, makes everything all happy.
((There is a different secret key you can get that goes to a different secret room in the game, and it requires you go through pacifist a second time I believe.))
((Oh yeah I know about that Hard mode. It was in the demo.))
((There's a reason the name is Chara, as that is easily short for the word Character. It's also apparent in the game's files that Chara's sprite has the letter M before Chara, possibly meaning Main Character in some way. That's only speculation though, not really confirmed, so I could be wrong.))
((I kind of realized that Undertale really only has about 15 songs, but all of them are remixed in some way to create the over 100 songs that the game has, and in the title menu upon completing true pacifist, you get all of the character themes, which I think makes up about 10 of those 15 songs, all mashed up together.))
((I think the main reason now that Undertale is easily my favorite game of all time for now, is that there was a load of thought that went into the game. I just started researching that Gaster character that's never mentioned but is in the game's files, and it goes to show that Toby was incredibly passionate about the game. There are so many lines of dialogue that I guarantee most people won't ever see, and so many little variables throughout the choices you make, that the game just becomes that much better with each new thing I learn about it.))
((Plus there's the fact that the game is not only able to be extremely happy-go-lucky, and makes you want to laugh and have fun, but Toby also managed to pull off the exact opposite of the coin, making you feel disgusted and sad, even going so far as to permanently alter your game if you keep going on your warpath of destruction and carnage.))

I looked through the journals again before I finished the game a couple of minutes ago, and I didn't see anything saying that he is a girl, could you elaborate on that?
I suppose you could argue that he identified as one at some point, or was simply gender-neutral like Napstablook, though. But I think the fact that every character in the game refers to Mettaton as a man is a pretty clear indicator that he is one. He's by no means too shy or subtle to tell anyone that sort of thing, and even if you'd argue that he was, I don't think that he wouldn't tell his closest friends like Alphys (who built him his body herself, so he could express himself) about that part of himself.
((Yeah, like I said, it's a placeholder name. Considering how the game names the character, I think it'd be necessary to do something like that.))
((I think I mentioned this earlier, but that's another one of the things I really don't like about Undertale. For a game with such a short running time (with some things looking a little rushed, if the overworld sprites used in The Core are any indication), it should really be encouraging players to play the game more, not guilting them out of resetting their saves or punishing them to such a ridiculous degree for trying to see everything it has to offer. The main reason a lot of people won't see everything in this game is just because the game frowns so heavily upon them doing any more than two runs (pacifist or neutral to pacifist) that they won't ever do any more.))
((Ah well, I wouldn't have Undertale any other way. Genocide is the way it is for a reason; and it's treated rather realistically.))
((I had a lot typed, but I feel I'd be making a fool of myself if I actually posted all of it. So I'll just have that above statement be my only one on the matter of what I think about Genocide.))

((Waifu needs to get it, too. Someone as sweet as him needs to play a game where you're rewarded for being so sweet.))
((Yup, gotta write stuff. Gonna get on that maybe tomorrow, tomorrow night, or the night after that for sure otherwise.
As for criticism It's kinda difficult for me to give it so long as something doesn't rub me the wrong way. If I dislike something I express it, sometimes a bit too spitefully, but if I like something I tend to focus on what I like. Idk, I guess maybe it felt a little unclear with what was happening in the post with Anton and Alpha? I feel like it's a intentional though. Also maybe I'm not explaining it right.
And yes, undertale. I think I might go get that some time after I'm back home and can properly invest time towards it. Right now I've just been playing the occasional 10 minute match of this game called Depth that I got on sale for Halloween. It's sharks vs divers and it's really cool because it's like two different games and it's really atmospheric; the divers are fighting for their lives against the sharks and need to use strategy/teamwork to stay alive, while the shark perspective lets you prey on and hunt the divers using scare tactics and brutality. One match I played as a shark where I was a mako which is like the assassin class, and my teammate was playing the thresher which is a disruption class; he went in and broke down a wall to scare everyone while I darted in and swam away with the diver who got seperated in the confusion. It's such a thrill and I just love sharks!!!!!!!!!!))
((So apparently, a lot of people had Undertale ruined for them by friends, which makes me incredibly sad because I went into the game practically 100% blind and had the ride of my life. So, Lavulman, I'll personally rot in hell if I ruined the game for you in any way, and the same goes for Tek and Bobert, because if I've ruined anyone's experience, I'd feel absolutely terrible.))
((I've mostly ignored anything you had to say about game specifics so it's not too much to worry about. I spoil games for myself more often than other people spoil them for me. Sometimes I see a game and it'll be like 'hey that looks cool, but I'll never buy or play it, let's see all the lore and characters and cool monsters. Oops, I know everything about the game now'. It's a bad habit I have, and I don't do it very often, but it happens. I've been careful to not watch or look at anything relating to undertale though to keep most of it fresh for me when I do get around to buying/playing it))
((The thing about collabs is that they take a long time to do.
((Yeah. Some of my characters aren't really going to have the opportunity to know many others right out of the gate, so I feel like it's important not to force anything.))
((I think that's a given when you have an option to not kill certain characters in a video game. The idea that none of your choices would matter and lead to one mediocre ending has already proven itself to be a terrible one (e.g. Bioshock Infinite).))
((Yeah collabs do take a fair amount of time. Something that works kinda well though if you can organize it, is if you both have the time (it was three people last time I did it) you can both get on the google doc at the same time and go back and forth pretty effectively. It eats up less time but sometimes it stresses me out because if you get writers block then you've got someone else waiting on you))
((Off the top of my head I can think of a few connections that might work for who knows who prior to the events of the second RP. It'll be something we should worry about after we have our characters set up though, then we can go 'hey, my guy could probably have known your guy cuz of this reason, wana do that?'.))
((Bioshock Infinite I definitely enjoyed more for the lore and gameplay. It was always kinda obvious that your choices were meaningless though, I never felt too attached to them but they were nice touches to make things feel a bit more interactive. My favorite was how I ended up getting Booker stabbed in the hand and for the rest of the game he had the bloody bandage on his palm because of it.))
((Alright, I'm off to bed now- I'll try and do some IC tomorrow when I have the mental capacity for it :)))
((I dislike lots of horror movies for this reason. If you're into psychological horror, a must see for you is a film called 'The Babadook'. It's on Netflix last I checked, and I won't say much since I don't want to spoil anything, but it's an original monster and a very well done horror film that left me cringing and a little nervous as opposed to just being stressed waiting for the next gory jump scare))
((I will be getting to that soon. Maybe tomorrow. The wifi at the hotel has been inconsistent is all; that and I'm having fun going out and doing stuff. We went snorkeling today at this cool bay with these really huge coral reefs. There were rock fish, sea turtles, some big tiger fish, I found a moral eel (kept my distance mind you). It was nice.
But anyways, yes, I plan to do some writing soon and that includes replying to your PM))

((I'm the kind of person who usually watches horror movies just to laugh at them while other losers get all scared. I'll look into that if I remember to, though.))
((Good decision; usually the moral eel only appears at the end of the trip.
Ok, I'm done.))
((As for the other ending, a lot of what happened can be hopefully be inferred pretty easily from stuff in the next RP, but for now, I guess all that you really need to know for sure at the moment is that Haley's going home to quell the fridge logic and prevent this whole space subplot from repeating itself some 50 years later while the other three are busy wiping out any trace of the space subplots that actually happened. I think that it was kind of hard to balance the character wrap-ups with the loose plot thread wrap-ups in a short enough package to keep it feeling concise, and I think I could have done better, but I wanted to get it out the door before moving and the musical decided to really come crashing down on me and keep me from writing it for even longer.
I've heard of that game. I like sharks, but apparently it's hard to find a game where you can actually play as them. Plus, it looked kind of pricey.))
((Yeah, I usually don't feel comfortable writing at that sort of pace.))
((Pretty much what I was thinking of.))
((The choices were often so ham-fisted and ridiculous (help me choose sufficiently symbolic jewelry, Booker!) that I had no choice but to believe they were arbitrarily tallied up towards some good or bad ending like in the first game. Why else would you let your hand get stabbed by that obviously evil clerk? The lore and gameplay are honestly the things that really highlight just how disappointing the game is in comparison to the original Bioshock (or even Bioshock 2), at least when I think about it. Something as simple as asking why the fantastical city is in such a weird place highlights the varying amounts of thought that went into each game's setting and backstory, but I honestly find the explanation for why the plasmids are in Infinite to be the most egregious example. The only explanation that ever came up was that they just looked at the Bioshock 1 universe and said "I want those, too". But how did they get them? Do they have magic sea slugs, too? How'd they get them out of the bottom of the ocean and all the way up there without them exploding or something? Where do they keep the magic sea slugs? In that shallow beach that careens straight off of the side of the island? Or do they just work on magic quantum physics like everything else in the game? I feel like it really goes back to what you were saying about Tek's ideas earlier.
I think I've already talked about how the combat falls apart when you face anything stronger than a normal goon, and how I usually resorted to jumping on and off a rail over and over again to deplete their ridiculous health bars, but I'll just bring up the plasmids again. They hype them all up to be able to be set as traps (even though almost all of them are just stuns with different particle effects), and you'd think this would lead to situations like in the first game, where you'd have a limited time to set up a gauntlet of traps and fend off a horde of enemies, or set up a gauntlet of traps before fighting a powerful, initially neutral enemy that guards a unique and valuable resource, but that never happens. You're always going straight forwards with enemies in your way that either pop in and out of cover like whack-a-moles or charge straight towards you. The strategic angle that made the earlier games interesting is completely gone, which made the game very, very boring for me once it was combined with the lackluster guns and bullet sponge enemies.))
((The queue times aren't that bad if you sign up to play specifically as a shark, but fairly good when you consider the scenario. The divers outnumber sharks 2 to 1, so the shark specific queue time is about twice as long (maybe 3 minutes at the worst, normally less); otherwise there's a good balance of players on both sides. From what I can tell lots of people use the 'either' feature and just jump into the game as whatever role needed to be filled. I personally lean towards sharks because sharks, but the divers are fun to play as too- it's all spooky.))
((And yes, it normally is pricey. It was on sale for 66% off on halloween though so I got it :P))
((Fair points with Bioshock Infinite, and I do agree the first game was better, but the game was fun enough that you could look past all the issues it had.))
((Ah and yes, lavulman and Ragna, I know I mentioned collabs earlier but I don't think they'll be necessary anymore. The reason this end post was taking me so long was because I was trying to figure out how to fit in several different angles, along with trying to make it feel right. The collabs would have been interesting, but they'd have added a bit too much to keep things wrapped up neatly; hope you understand, and I know we'll get to work on other stuff together in the near future :)))
[Bob]
It had been a few days now since Herobrine's flame had been extinguished, and after the tiring efforts of battle everyone had parted since their task had been completed. Elizabeth, the woman Bobert now better understood as his mother, had made a promise to everyone that she would organize escape from this island should any of them wish to leave as she did. Having decided earlier that he would accompany Elizabeth until Akira was well enough to see her, Bobert set out with Gordon and Kassy in tow towards the Redstone Village. The citizens weren't very welcoming, nor easy to negotiate with, but most of their defenses had grown weak and even they knew that to stay within their crumbling walled city would be the end of them. So with aid from Elizabeth, the villagers organized plans and charted a few maps to prepare for a departure of the island by sea. Two days of drawing up and redrawing boat designs eventually bared a sound looking blueprint, and the villagers began to work on construction by tearing apart their homes. One of their blacksmiths had repaired Gordon using copper, iron being too valuable to spare for the time being, and it was done as a courtesy since Gordon's help would be needed to move the ship once it was constructed.
Thinking about it now, Bobert grinned as he imagined a team of huge metal men marching whatever wooden behemoth was being constructed out to the ocean. He made a mental note to be sure he was there to see everyone off, considering he didn't plan on leaving this island quite as quickly as everyone else. No, there was still things he had to figure out here- and how long they'd take would be impossible to know considering the nature of a few of his tasks. There were some that Bobert considered time restricted however, and over the next few days those would be his focus. He just had to hope Elizabeth would be alright with his absence.
It was late, and Bobert sat alone in Elizabeth's kitchen, head on his hands as he scanned the papers he'd set out in front of him which remained illuminated by candlelight. Spread out on the small table were a few charts and the journal he had found nestled inside his jacket pocket. It belonged to him, the writing inside matched his own, but each page was foreign; filled with countless note to selves and recollections of days gone by. It was like the little leather bound book was a guide to his previous life, and Bobert had drank deeply of the fragmented knowledge it held on what his past self had been like. He'd reached the end though, about two thirds into the book it all stopped and the remaining pages were blank. Empty promises of a future the author would never get to fulfill. "Aftinblernt was a funny last name anyways," Bobert told himself, shutting the journal and regarding it like the tombstone he saw it as.
"I quite liked your name," Elizabeth responded, having silently moved into the doorway only moments ago. Having alerted her presence she pushed off the door frame and moved towards the table, grabbing a nearby chair and pulling it up so she could sit across from Bob.
"Did you finish setting up your wards?" Bobert asked, still looking down at the journal with a soft, solemn expression.
"Yes, and Gordon has been busy cleaning up the debris outside. This place should be livable for the next four days, or however long you said Akira needs," Elizabeth explained, sounding relieved to announce this news. Her mood had improved greatly after the Redstone villagers had begun construction on the vessel, and she'd seemed even a little cheerful since returning to her home. Bobert frowned knowing what he'd need to tell her next.
"About that," he began, pushing himself to look up from the journal, "I'm not going to be here for the next couple of days. I've got a few... potentially time sensitive errands to run, and they're also errands I'd like to run on my own- before Glint comes by. Gordon and Kassy will still be here so you won't be on your own, but that's not really what concerns me. I just hope you'll understand," Bobert confessed, breaking eye contact again to look down at the journal he now held in his hands.
Elizabeth followed Bobert's gaze down to the little brown book he had been so interested in the past few days, knowing what it was even when he hadn't. Elizabeth nodded softly and reached across the table, placing a hand on the journal and gently pushing it back down towards the table. "Bobert, I know you've explained it to me and I'm grateful for your honesty but I think you're seeing this a lot different than it is," Elizabeth started, looking up to see she had her son's attention once more, "I know- that you see yourself as gone, and in a way it is true that you're not the person you were. I look at you though and still see the boy I raised right here in this house, and I know that if your father were still here he'd tell you the same thing. You can't remember it but you're still the same person deep down; you still care, and you still have your head turned towards the horizon wondering what's beyond." Elizabeth paused for a moment, wiping away a sniffle and shutting her eyes to hold back any tears, "Bobert I love you, and I want you to know that no mater how distant you become, no matter how far over the horizon you go, that will never change. So yes, I understand if you need to leave again- I'm just glad we could have this time."
Bobert's stern expression had melted away, replaced by a mix of worry and understanding. With the conclusion of Elizabeth's speech, a soft smile found it's way across his lips and he released the journal so he could place his hands over Elizabeth's where they rested on the table top. "Thank you... Mom," Bobert muttered, almost unsure of the words he'd just used. It didn't mater though, what was done was done and in a few days he knew that he might never see Elizabeth again. He'd prefer to make one of his final goodbyes a pleasant one.
It was midday, the sun hanging high in the sky providing warmth to the otherwise grim and shade covered swamp. Two pairs of footprints had been left in the mossy grass, subtle and almost invisible to all but the most focused of gazes, both trails leading towards the battered and partially overgrown home that rested deeper inside the bog filled landscape. For a moment the wind picked up, shaking the branches overhead and pushing a small cluster of free flying leaves through the trees. A light breeze redirected the rogue foliage into a swirling mass, which pieced themselves together like a broken sculpture to reveal two human forms.
Bobert knelt down to inspect one of the faint impressions left in the ground, recognizing it as fresh not from his own skill but by listening to the earth tell him.
"Was it your friends?" Ashley questioned, asking more like it was a test despite not knowing the proper answer herself.
"It would make sense," Bobert replied, his eyes following the trail which would eventually lead him to Elizabeth's house. "I don't know who else would come out here, specifically on this day- Glint and I agreed on a week and the week is up," he then explained, straightening himself so he could turn back to face the dryad that had brought him here.
"Well you best not keep them waiting then," Ashley grinned, taking a few steps back in preparation for her departure.
"Guess not," Bobert mused, returning her grin and watching as the air around Ashley began to shimmer a slight green. "Thanks for all the help by the way; I'll be sure to come see you again once my tree is older."
Ashley nodded, her form shattering into a small cloud of leaves which was instantly taken away on a gust of wind. Bobert watched until the last glimpse of her disappeared back towards the forest, then returned his attention to the swamp and the trail he saw leading into it. Before he began moving, Bobert reached inside his jacket and retrieved the journal from it's pocket, quickly flipping towards where it's entries ended to find the newest addition he'd placed there himself. It was a list, oversimplified for the time being but Bobert knew each task would lead to several more to be completed. Each objective had a neat little box drawn beside it, meant to be filled in once what it asked for was complete, and at the bottom of the list lay one task that had been placed separate from the rest.
"[ ] Return home?"
Bobert snapped the journal shut, stuffing it into his tattered jacket and marching forward knowing that today marked the beginning of a journey that might never end. This thought alone was what pushed him forward; to find his end, to tie up every last burnt and rotten string, to see just how far the horizon really went.
((Woo, okay hopefully you guys like it. If it's unclear or anything let me know so I can fix it; I proof read it half a dozen times but it's like 2 in the morning right now so I can't trust myslef))
((But if I look past the flaws, I only end up finding more. It's like an onion of boring and irritating design choices, all wrapped up in a pretentious plastic bag. You peel away layer after layer, and eventually you're just left with a run of the mill first person shooter, and at that point, you have to wonder if it's even worth it all.))
((It's fine, whatever makes the post the best, right?))
((But yeah, it's super great. I'm too tired to post any specific thoughts about it, though; Diet Coke and Mettaton's legs are often the only things keeping me running these days.))
((I'm probably going to make myself a timeline once I have free time so I can keep track of everything that would have happened between this RP and the next one, because I feel like I need to keep better track of my plans and how they intersect. Probably wouldn't happen until Monday or so, though.))

((I suppose what I'm really going to take away from this year's musical is that I like the way I look in eyeliner, and that last year's was way more fun. It's really tiring, though. We're putting the show on twice tomorrow.))
((Where did all of my lovely friends go? It feels so lifeless in here all of the sudden.))
((I just played through Bo3's campaign, and well, at least they tried. What happened to them promising different endings if you made different choices though? There was 0 choices, and I'm pretty sure only one (extremely terrible) ending. The last level is probably the biggest way to pan out a game I've ever seen, throwing infinitely respawning enemies at you in droves, and a new enemy that's incredibly irritating to fight only to make you die more on purpose so that the game seems longer.))
((However, this is the first CoD I've played since MW1, and I have to say that the multiplayer is spot on, and I love it. Freerun mode is also fun trying to get better times. Not much of a zombies guy though, so I don't touch that too much. I think MW1 is easily the only CoD game where you can justify buying it for the campaign. Every game after it's been entirely focused on the multiplayer, and that probably made it extremely stale for most people.))
((This all said though, the multiplayer really makes me wish Titanfall didn't die out so quickly. I really loved playing Titanfall until it took me an average of ten minutes to find a match, and Bo3 kind of acts as a buffer for me until the sequel to Titanfall releases. Titanfall's easily one of my number one multiplayer shooters, and it seriously sucks that the community died because of the "lack of content" in the game (as most people cite). I thought it had more than enough content honestly, and I just thought it would benefit from having bigger maps and more wide-open areas for the titans to fight in. I'm hoping that they add that in for the next game.))

((My brother got that Titanfall game; it's on xbox though and he's not really old enough to afford xbox live very often though so he doesn't play it too much and that means nobody else plays it much. I tried it out and found the learning curve a bit difficult but I suck at FPS games, I really did enjoy the gameplay though and playing as a titan really made you feel powerful which is something I appreciated :P))
Ok, I'm just going to say that I'm going to be very disappointed if this doesn't turn out to have Mettaton's face on it.))

"Zazhigalka. I think this is Russian for 'smash your enemy's face in and then set him on fire.' I could be wrong though."
"Never be ashamed of sadness. Embrace it, love it, but don't become an emotional masochist. Without sadness, I guarantee you we would have one hundred times more killers in the world, and ten times as many wars."
((Yeah. Some of my characters aren't really going to have the opportunity to know many others right out of the gate, so I feel like it's important not to force anything.))
((There's always another RP to do collabs in, Kohai. I'd be happy to do a few with you if the opportunity ever arises.))
((Nah, I managed to forget about just about everything you said about the game by the time I started playing (though if you wanted to improve it you could have just told me how to solve that stupid and pointless piano puzzle).
((The funny thing about Mettaton, is well, you know what, I won't spoil that for you. During genocide route, you kind of learn much more about "him" near the end, I'll just say that much. It's actually kind of hard to find as well the certain thing I'm talking about, and it's mostly just implied so it's easy to not understand at all what I'm talking about. Actually, there are lots of things about different characters in the game that are implied that most people tend to just pass over.))
((I would stop beating myself up if there wasn't something in my head constantly telling me you'd have a much better experience with the game if I hadn't talked about spoilerish stuff so much.))
((What I have found hilarious upon re-watching the Steam trailer for Undertale is that upon reading the sign in the ruins that says "please don't step on the leaves," the character then runs around in circles on the leaves.))
((You mean that he was a ghost that was put into a robot?))
((Eh, I still had a good time. It's probably the game of the year for me, one way or the other.))
I dunno, for me the thrill of not knowing what clever joke, what instance of messing with the game would happen, and what was even going on at all became a game all on it's own. That being said, Tobyfox will apparently be updating the game with something soon, hopefully with a hard mode, ahuehuehue. Although that's based off of rumor, I don't really know if he is or not, but that's been circulating on Twitter. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.))
((I just realized that the menu music for Undertale is Chara's theme but not a demonic version of it for some reason. Odd.
Also, I'm going to be here a while, ))
((Toriel's theme is called Heartache. The feels.))
((I almost can't listen to this OST without breaking down in tears for some reason. Mostly because of the names of the songs.))
((I'm probably going to play through again today, lol.))
((I feel like all of the music I use in the next RP will be entirely Undertale music.))
((I just found out where the key you can buy off of Bratty and Catty takes you. Everything makes sense now.))
((Oh snap, that line the river(man or woman or whatever) person says, "beware the man who speaks in hands." Oh my goooooooood. I just figured it out. Holy crap! I mean, I'm pretty sure there are tons of people who figured this out before me but, learning this stuff for myself blows my mind to smithereens. I literally can't believe this right now. It's all coming together!))
((THIS! THIS IS THE REASON I LOVE UNDERTALE! Sorry I'll be quiet now, but what I've just found after trying that stupid key on so many different houses, doors, rooms, and whatnot, blows my mind. It only really makes sense after looking at Genocide of course, but it's flipping fantastic!))
((I've been listening to Death by Glamour a lot today. Though that same channel also did a nice mash-up of Your Best Nightmare that led into Finale.))
((I wish I had time for that, Kohai.))
((I thought the key was what you were talking about all along.))
((That spiel was longer than I intended...))
I've been careful to not watch or look at anything relating to undertale though to keep most of it fresh for me when I do get around to buying/playing it))
((Yeah collabs do take a fair amount of time.
Oh no, it's a link to an awesome flash game!
((Ok, Kohai, I found this hilarious video that you need to see.
))((I'm the kind of person who usually watches horror movies just to laugh at them while other losers get all scared.
Or do they just work on
magicquantum physics like everything else in the game? I feel like it really goes back to what you were saying about Tek's ideas earlier.I think I've already talked about how the combat falls apart when you face anything stronger than a normal goon, and how I usually resorted to jumping on and off a rail over and over again to deplete their ridiculous health bars, but I'll just bring up the plasmids again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was late, and Bobert sat alone in Elizabeth's kitchen, head on his hands as he scanned the papers he'd set out in front of him which remained illuminated by candlelight. Spread out on the small table were a few charts and the journal he had found nestled inside his jacket pocket. It belonged to him, the writing inside matched his own, but each page was foreign; filled with countless note to selves and recollections of days gone by. It was like the little leather bound book was a guide to his previous life, and Bobert had drank deeply of the fragmented knowledge it held on what his past self had been like. He'd reached the end though, about two thirds into the book it all stopped and the remaining pages were blank. Empty promises of a future the author would never get to fulfill. "Aftinblernt was a funny last name anyways," Bobert told himself, shutting the journal and regarding it like the tombstone he saw it as.
"I quite liked your name," Elizabeth responded, having silently moved into the doorway only moments ago. Having alerted her presence she pushed off the door frame and moved towards the table, grabbing a nearby chair and pulling it up so she could sit across from Bob.
"Did you finish setting up your wards?" Bobert asked, still looking down at the journal with a soft, solemn expression.
"Yes, and Gordon has been busy cleaning up the debris outside. This place should be livable for the next four days, or however long you said Akira needs," Elizabeth explained, sounding relieved to announce this news. Her mood had improved greatly after the Redstone villagers had begun construction on the vessel, and she'd seemed even a little cheerful since returning to her home. Bobert frowned knowing what he'd need to tell her next.
"About that," he began, pushing himself to look up from the journal, "I'm not going to be here for the next couple of days. I've got a few... potentially time sensitive errands to run, and they're also errands I'd like to run on my own- before Glint comes by. Gordon and Kassy will still be here so you won't be on your own, but that's not really what concerns me. I just hope you'll understand," Bobert confessed, breaking eye contact again to look down at the journal he now held in his hands.
Elizabeth followed Bobert's gaze down to the little brown book he had been so interested in the past few days, knowing what it was even when he hadn't. Elizabeth nodded softly and reached across the table, placing a hand on the journal and gently pushing it back down towards the table. "Bobert, I know you've explained it to me and I'm grateful for your honesty but I think you're seeing this a lot different than it is," Elizabeth started, looking up to see she had her son's attention once more, "I know- that you see yourself as gone, and in a way it is true that you're not the person you were. I look at you though and still see the boy I raised right here in this house, and I know that if your father were still here he'd tell you the same thing. You can't remember it but you're still the same person deep down; you still care, and you still have your head turned towards the horizon wondering what's beyond." Elizabeth paused for a moment, wiping away a sniffle and shutting her eyes to hold back any tears, "Bobert I love you, and I want you to know that no mater how distant you become, no matter how far over the horizon you go, that will never change. So yes, I understand if you need to leave again- I'm just glad we could have this time."
Bobert's stern expression had melted away, replaced by a mix of worry and understanding. With the conclusion of Elizabeth's speech, a soft smile found it's way across his lips and he released the journal so he could place his hands over Elizabeth's where they rested on the table top. "Thank you... Mom," Bobert muttered, almost unsure of the words he'd just used. It didn't mater though, what was done was done and in a few days he knew that he might never see Elizabeth again. He'd prefer to make one of his final goodbyes a pleasant one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
((Tek I replied to the thing.))
Oh no, it's a link to an awesome flash game!
"Zazhigalka. I think this is Russian for 'smash your enemy's face in and then set him on fire.' I could be wrong though."
