Still bewildered about the Oddity Hut's location, Terry started to look at the adresses on the buildings, and sure enough, he was right next to 1030. "Maybe..." Terry thought as he started walking a little faster, counting down the adressess. "1028, 1026, 1024, 1022..." Terry stopped, as he had run out of breath from walking so fast and talking so fast at the same time. Regaining his energy, he started walking again, and saw, "1020, is this it?" Terry wondered as he entered the doors of the building. He saw a boy, who seemed to be as old as he was, purchasing an item. Terry waiting behind him, waiting to ask the man at the counter.
Suddenly, as Terry was waiting, the boy in front of him had teleported right before his eyes. Terry, in shock, fell to the ground, and scooted back against the wall. He took out his notepad and started drawing the scene that has happening right before him, shivering in fear.
After settling down, Terry finally got the courage to approach the man behind the desk.
"H-hello? Is t-this the Od-dity H-hut?" Terry spoke in a spooked voice.
"Why so frightened? Did you see a ghost or something?" The man said in an amused attitude. "Anyways, to answer your question, this is! Welcome to the Oddity Hut! Take a look around and see if you find something you like!" The man said in a friendly, yet strange, voice. Terry took a look around and noticed that no single thing was like the other. After looking around for what felt like hours, Terry found a small minature chest. It was covered in dark colors, such as purple, black, gray, and even dark blue. However, the most oddest thing about it, was an illustration of a cartoon-like ghost in the middle, with a key hole for a mouth. Terry picked it up, and looked at the pricetag. "$10?!" Terry asked shockingly. "Isn't that a little much for a toy chest?" Terry folded his arms as he put the chest on the counter. "Well, you want it, right?" The man asked Terry, trying to trick him. "Fair enough." Terry mumbeled as he forked over the cash and took his souvinear. "Thank you, come again!" The man called as Terry walked out the store. Looking at the strange chest, Terry saw his mom in her white SUV, driving over to him. He opened up the back door, and hopped in. As he shut the door, Terry's mom asked him, "Did you find anything good?" Terry showed her the small chest, as she observed the hand-painted design. "Very nice, honey. Let's go home, your dad's waiting at the hotel." Terry snapped on his seatbealt as the SUV took a U-turn and drove torwards the nearby hotel.
((Would you like me to be a talking dog? Or a normal-ish dog?))
I chomped down the meat with gusto. "THANK GOODNESS I WAS STARVING!!!" I thought. I was also pretty thirsty, but the water was too warm. I tried to tell Olive "Can I get some ice in this please?" ((If you want me to talk, then I actually say that, if you want me to be Normal-ish, then I just bark quietly))
((It all depends on you. You should choose since, well, you're the dog.))
"Here it is! Careful, it may be hot." I tossed him a few pieces of beef who eat it with enthusiasm. He seemed to be enjoying.
"Okay, Spike. Speak!"
My parents didn't want to wake up, they hadn't come out of the room yet. So I decided to just hang out with Spike. "So, do you live here at Gravity Falls?" he was still whimpering about his water. "Whats wrong with your water, boy?" I asked. "It's too warm." he replied. Wait, what? I looked around. "Hello? Anyone awake?" No answer. "Did you hear anything, boy?" "No, do you?" he replied. I turned to look at Spike, "Spike? Um, speak." "Here we go with tricks again. Arf arf arf." "You can talk!?" I exclaimed. "You can understand me?"
I screamed for a few seconds and shut my mouth. I forgot, I'm not the only ones who live here. "Spike, here colder water." I took his bowl and put some smashed ice cubes in it. I watched him finish it. "Okay, Spike. Follow me." I lead him to my room and down the hallway. "Spike, can you talk?" "Yes, yes, yes. Just like you, MASTER." "Most dogs can't talk you know." "I know." "Then how can you talk?"
"I'm sitting here, with a talking dog." I said. "Oh, gosh. What's going wrong with my life?" I muttered and turned back to Jon. "Okay, Jon. Now knowing you are, human, things will change from owner to dog to owner to dog-human." I thought, "That must've sounded weird." Jon nodded. "How did you become a dog?" I asked.
"Well, first I went to the Oddity Hut, then I got a weird looking gem, then I started to bark at cats, play dog-related arcade games, took a nap at home and POOF! I'm a dog!" I tell Olive.
I gasped after hearing his story. "I knew the Oddity Hut wasn't right!" I exclaimed. "Do you know what happened to my cousins?" "You have other kids here? I mean, no." "Celeste, she's a girl, has winged sandals and Hunter, he's a boy, has an invisibility cloak!" I exclaimed. "Don't tell anyone, what do you think old man Harry, you know, the guy there, is up to?" The dog/ Jon shrugged, rolled his eyes upwards. "Why would a gem affect, you?" I asked. "I mean, you didn't eat it or anything, you don't still have the gem do you?" I asked, eyes wide open.
(( I may be gone for 5-6 hours, see you all later ))
"Well, I can't tell my parents, or aunt and uncle. But I think I know two people who won't blow up if I tell them." I take out my phone and take a picture of Spike. "Sorry, I just need to document everything." He groaned and fell on the floor. Man, I shouldn't have used flash. "No one will see my journal, EVER, anyway." "How should I treat you in a way that make people think you are a dog but won't be awkward because I know you're human?" "What?" he replied. "Never mind. Unrelated at the moment." I say, then remembering what I was talking about at first. "Are you okay with children?" I ask.
"See, my two cousins, Celeste and Hunter, may be cool with this secret. Y'know?" he nodded. "My parents will be up in any moment. Don't go anywhere. Or, if you are..." I took a paper from my bag and a pen. I wrote:
Hello Celeste and Hunter! If you are reading this, this Labrador is named Spike but is actually a human.
"No, no, no," I said. "Maybe like this," I wrote:
Hello Celeste and Hunter. This message is from Olive. If you are reading this, let the Labrador come inside your room. I cannot show your parents or my parents him yet. You can call him Spike, you should call him Spike when anyone that isn't me is around, but Spike isn't really a dog. Remember your flying shoes and invisibility cloak? From the Oddity Hut? Well, this human, Jon, went there too. He started barking, playing dog based games, etc... There is something wrong there. I don't know what. Please take care of him for now, until I can show him to my and your parents. Thanks!
P.S: If you both help me out with this, I'll buy you your favorite chocolates.
"I think that is fine." I said, examining the letter. I rolled it up and tied it with a string I found in my drawer. "Here," I gave the letter to Jon. "If you are gonna go out, straight, take the first left, and right. Knock on the door with the picture of the stars, try anyway. Good Luck."
I went out the door to the Dining Room to meet my parents.
