The next morning Sully told Sam of the escape plan. Sam rushed to her room to pack. "Only pack the essentials." Leslie told her.
Sam took out her green and grey backpack. She packed the flashlight Sully gave her for the journey ahead, her two P9 mags, and her canteen all in the small pack. She placed her P9 in her back right pants pocket, her switchblade in her front right pocket and her lighter in her front left pocket. She looked around the room.
She saw the small picture frame on her dresser that held a photo of her and Sully. She remembered that day. It was the day Sully told her she had a great shot, during her gun training. She removed the photo from the frame and placed it in her plaid shirt pocket.
That night the group met at the kitchen table. In the middle of the table was a crudely drawn map of the QZ. "We have a man on the inside who is going to help us out." said Leslie standing over the map. "How did you get him to agree to that?" asked Sully. "Thats not important." said Leslie. She pointed at the first wall that was within the city. "This is a small wall, we have enough rope to get over, and then there will be an FMTV waiting to get us through the main wall. The driver will drop us off far enough from the QZ and then we are on our own."
The group continued to discuss the plans and Sam drifted off. She blocked out their voices and all she could think about was her racing heart and the fact that she could very well get shot tonight.
"Sam. Sam. Sam!" "Huh?" she said to Sullys voice, coming back to reality. "Its time."
The moon was low tonight, giving the survivors a better chance. They reached the first wall and threw the rope hook over. When Leslie felt it lock, she climbed the wall. They were hidden behind a building with the only entrance being an alleyway. Nolan was watching the alley as the others climbed the wall. "Hey you!" Sam heard commotion from above the wall and then she saw a body thrown down into a trash can to her side. Leslie looked down and gave a thumbs up. The others climbed up.
They climbed back down the other side and saw the FMTV waiting to transport them. The FMTV was against the side of the QZ main wall. The group had to slowly make their way there, dodging spotlights the whole time. A military man was waiting behind the FMTV. You all need to get in quick. This vehicle is moving out in a few minutes. They all packed in and the military man threw a bunch of sheets and a tarp over them.
Minutes passed and they felt the vehicle move. "Delivery of supplies to fort riverland." said the driver to a gate guard. "Open up!' yelled the guard. The gate opened. "Good luck out there." said the guard to the driver.
Sam felt relieved. They made it outside the wall. When they were out of view of the wall everyone sat up. Sully put his arm around Sam and gave a sigh of relief. Sam just laughed.
As the group talked amongst themselves the vehicle came to a stop. They saw headlights moving towards the FMTV. "Sam. Run." said Sully looking toward the headlights. "Wait what, what do you mean?" "Sam. GO!" he whispered to her. He nudged Sam off the FMTV. "But...Sully." "Go!" he shouted. Sam felt tears on her cheeks as she ran for the nearby woods. Sam watched from the trees as a man with an assault rifle walked around to the back of the FMTV.
Sam realized that the driver had betrayed them. One by one the group got out of the vehicle. "On your knees!" yelled the driver. A gruff looking military man exited the jeep that stopped the FMTV. He pulled out a pistol. Tears now rushed down Sams cheeks. As the first shot went off she had to bite her hand to keep from screaming. Sully was the last one to be executed.
"Are these all of them?" the sergeant asked the driver. "I think they had a little girl with them. "You think? Or you know?" yelled the sergeant. "I-I Im s-sure sir." Stuttered the driver. "Search the area! Bring me back this girl!" yelled the sergeant to his men. Sam had no time to mourn, she turned and ran.

Muted white-noise filled Daniel's ears. His vision began a slow cascade from complete darkness to a lighter white. Daniel inhaled suddenly, his eyes jutting open.
"-wake up, Daniel! For the love of God!" His mother exclaimed. He rubbed his eyes and looked up to see his mom's red hair bobbing up and down angrily as she shoved his leg.
"Everyone else is up. Get up. Breakfast is on the table."
Daniel pulled himself up, his arms numbly reacting to his commands. He groggily pulled on pants and a shirt before heading into the kitchen. His clock read 6:30am.
Coffee mugs were set out around the central table, enough for everyone to drink. The smell of freshly fried bacon hung in the air. Daniel felt a ping of nostalgia. It was odd for him to feel that about Boston. His entire life there had been worse than living in a slum.
The guards were militaristic. Harsh punishments were enforced. There was an active mob present in both the civilians and the military. Food shortages were part of daily life.
But he still felt nostalgia. Boston was also the place him and Lily finally got to live as a family by themselves. Joseph had lived there since he was ten. If anything, Joseph had the right to call this his home. He pushed the thoughts aside, and replaced them with memories of their home in Colorado. They could finally go back to the way it was when they were kids.
Breakfast was quickly devoured, and plans were gone over again. Everyone understood what they were supposed to be doing.
If anything went wrong, the backup plan was to shoot their way out.
Thirty Minutes Later
Joseph handed down the last of the supplies into the cart. Daniel flashed him a thumbs up, and pushed off. Joseph jumped down into the tunnel with a heavy thud, closing the manhole behind them.
They flicked on their flashlights, and began their trek through the tunnel. Luckily, it had been dry lately. There had been times where Daniel and Lily had had to smuggle goods after a heavy rain. The tunnels had been pouring with water. Even worse was after snowstorms.
The only noise was the occasional pitter of water, and the squeaking of the cart.
Nobody spoke.
Three quarters of the way, Lily motioned for everyone to stop. Everyone froze. A pin-drop could have been heard.
Faintly, in the distance, a distinctive sound pittered though the tunnels.
Click click clickclickclick click
“Sh*t.” Daniel mouthed.
The rest of the part looked at each other, their eyes showing fear. Over the years, quarantine had been enforced much more heavily. Clicker attacks had become unheard of. Clickers hadn’t even been mentioned.
Daniel let go of the cart.
“Ok, guys, this isn’t that bad of a problem.” He whispered, “Our flashlights can easily see eighty feet. Just keep your guns ready, and they won’t even have time to reach us. There aren’t even any other paths. They have to come from one direction.”
Everyone nodded, and acted like it comforted them.
In reality, there was nothing anyone could say to make being locked in a tunnel with a walking lethal virus any better.
Joseph cleared his throat, “Why don’t we make a bunch of noise now? I mean, if we make them come now, then at least we know exactly when their coming.”
Daniel’s father nodded, and stepped back, putting his gun back in his holster.
He mouthed of a countdown starting at three.
Once he reached zero, he started furiously clapping his hands together. On his own, we was already a loud clapper. In a sealed echo chamber, his claps sounded like gunfire.
Out of the fire burst two clickers. They didn’t make it four feet. They each got filled with at least three bullets.
Six bullets were fired.
If claps sounded like gunfire, gunfire represented an atomic bomb.
Without any agreement, everyone went into a dead sprint. If guards didn’t hear that, they were deaf. As they ran past the corpses, Daniel recognized them as the two Fireflies he got the gasoline from. With a scoop of the arm, Daniel relieved the woman’s corpse of her AR-15.
The tunnel exploded into light as they burst to the opposite side of the wall. The Fireflies had left the door open for them.
Without hesitation, they crossed the tower’s line of sight. Theoretically, they stationed less people at this time in the morning. Hopefully they hadn’t had time to get guards to their stations.
They crossed the empty streets, letting Bernie lead the way. They took a preemptive right turn into a nearby alley to get out of the wall’s line of sight. Slowing down (But still running), they went through the back entrance to the auto shop.
The cars were pre-packed, save for what was in the cart. They both had a full tank of gas. The cart was practically thrown into the car, with the two families only pausing to swap their pistols with AR’s as they jumped into their cars.
Joseph, Bernie, and Caroline drove in the first. Daniel, Lily, Alex and Emma in another.
Joseph opened the garage doors before jumping into shotgun. Both cars took off without looking back. Bernie’s car, being in front of the others, had Caroline and Joseph team-navigating. The two cars communicated via walkie talkie, making split second decisions based on conditions.
Just as planned, they headed southwest, avoiding the coast.
There hadn’t been any sign of the military. Daniel’s watch read 7:45.
TWO HOURS LATER
With two hours of not being followed, the group pulled over at a nearby park to decide their next move, go to the bathroom, re-pack, ect. Daniel paced around the cars, zoning out, mentally going over what had just happened. A twig snap brought him back into reality.
His neck snapped around toward the source of the sound.
His eyes fell upon a 16 year old girl.
Just a kid.
“Jesus…” He began, stammering, “Why-how- who are you?”
Sam ran as fast as she could. She never stopped to look back. Her tears had dried out, her eyes red from crying. All she could see in her head was Sully, with a gun to his forehead.
After what felt like years of running, Sam came upon a park. The rain seemed to stop for the moment, but a storm was definitely approaching. She sat on a bench looking over the play structures. Sully used to take her to the park inside the city. She sat on the swing. It was midday and Sam never felt so alone in her life as she did right now. As the swing gently moved back and forth, Sam looked down at her gun. The Union is meeting in Colorado. Sam had a map but she didn't know the way of the land, she had never even been outside of the QZ until now.
Sam heard a rumbling. The park was so quiet that the sound of a vehicle alerted her. The military followed me here? Sam ran across the park and hid in some bushes near the parking lot. After a few minutes, two cars pulled in. Sam watched the people exit the vehicle. There were two older couples, a younger couple, and a young kid. They look like a family. Sam thought about how lucky they were to have each other. The family walked over to the bathroom and park area, leaving the younger couple.
The man was a little taller than Sam and had short facial hair along his chin. His wife, what Sam assumed was his wife almost resembled Leslie. She was very pretty. They shared a kiss then the woman left to join the rest of the family. The man was left alone, checking the cars and pacing. Sam knew they had to have some sort of food or water. She couldn't steal, could she?
The world was a messed up place, and all Sam could think about was a bite to eat and something to drink. She decided she would sneak up on the man, attempt to knock him out with the butt of her P9, and snatch a little bit of supplies. She wiped the tears from her eyes and slowly approached.
Sneaking a few feet, she was so nervous that she didn't notice the twig in front of her. Snap. Sam froze, her mouth agape. The man turned and his eyes fell upon her.
“Jesus…” He began, stammering, “Why-how- who are you?”
"I...I-im Sa..." Sam started shaking uncontrollably aiming the pistol slightly at the man.
"Drop it kid." Sam turned, teary eyed, towards the sound of the voice. It was the mans wife, aiming the gun at her. "I said. Drop it."
"I jus-just wan-want..." Sam dropped her gun and fell to her knees. She brought her hands to her face and sobbed uncontrollably.
She never felt so alone.
((Sorry that I took control of one of your characters, it just seemed like something that Lily would do. If you want me to revise it just let me know. Also do you have a post that says how Lily looks? Does she look like the Lily from the Walking Dead game? Im just curious so I can imagine it in my head. I like this RP so far, youre fun to RP with! I hope Cocokat joins in soon!)
((Appearance wise, I'd say Lily looks most like a blondish-Carley (The reporter from TWD season one). Attitude wise, she acts more like Lilly except her father is more capable of surviving (So she doesn't have to dedicate her time/energy to protecting him) and, and her father isn't a giant a**hole. Just imagine a less-stressed-out, more-comfortable-with-the-people-she'swith Lilly.
As for appearances, I don't like writing a ton about them, so whoever mentions a character's appearance first, the other will stick with that image))
((As far as I know, no. Also, I know I'm going to sound like a grammar freak, but remember to capitalize as needed. And excuse me if I'm mistaken, but I don't recall thereach2134 ever posting about joining this RP.))
((Florida IRL or Florida in RP? Either way, I'm not in Florida))
In the confusion of the moment, instincts still managed to kick in. Within five seconds, Daniel had his AR trained on the girl, safety off.
But this wasn't like anything he was prepared for.
He could gun down a Clicker without a second thought. Like every other human, he had trouble killing the living, but he could put the thought aside for the moment, more out of adrenaline and primal instincts than anything else.
In from of him sat a sniveling, traumatized kid.
He heard the tell-tale metallic clicks of rifles behind him. The rest of the group all had their rifles trained on the girl too. Nobody moved.
"Nobody shoot." Daniel found himself saying. Seemingly without his mind's own consent, he walked toward the girl.
Once he got within arms reach of her, his common sense took over, and he kicked the girl's P9 back to Lily, who picked it up without breaking aim at the girl.
Daniel, assuming the girl was no longer a threat, slung his AR back over his shoulder, and knelt down to eye level with the girl.
"Hi. I'm Daniel." He began, trying to make his voice as comfortable as possible, "Since you aren't military, and since I hope to God the Fireflies haven't started recruiting at your age, I'm guessing that your from Boston, too."
The girl sniveled, but didn't respond.
"Anyway, I don't know how you got this far out, but we're escaping too. 'Heading out to Colorado. I'll have to check with everyone else, but I don't plan on leaving you out here to die."
((I think he meant Florida in-RP. I'm not planning on doing any actual roleplaying myself, since I want to experiment and see how well RP members can function without the GM participating in-RP. The only time I'll ever probably participate is when I want an encounter with a Bloater to occur, since they are extremely powerful and probably need their own roleplayer to make the encounter meaningful. As far as we are concerned right now, I'm just here to accept apps, oversee plot progression, enforce the RP rules, and help out wherever I am needed.))
Sam couldn't stop crying. Her hands covered her face as the image of Sully being executed played through her head over and over again. Sam couldn't bring herself to look at the other members of the mans group. She was scared. The man slung his gun on his back and approached her.
"Hi. I'm Daniel." said the man, now eye level with her. Sams hands were at her sides now but she kept looking at the ground.
Sam heard Daniel speak to her but she was so scared that she only heard bits and pieces. Daniel mentioned Colorado.
Sam knew she had no way of reaching Colorado by herself. She also knew that being alone would get her killed. The group obviously meant well. Sam sat back coming off her knees. She had her left hand resting on her left leg and looked up at Daniel. She slowly put her right hand out.
"My names Sam...sorry for aiming the gun at you and all." She said quietly.((@Bboy. Yeah no one is in Florida and we plan on moving towards Colorado. If you want to intertwine the stories somehow, I would suggest moving your character towards Colorado. Try and be realistic in the sense that he wont reach Colorado in just a few days, and there will be plenty dangers on the way. Also welcome to the RP.))

If not, do you plan on playing it soon?
Other: I am just getting back into RP'ing so I might be a bit rusty, but I did love this game and I wanted to get back into RP'ing since after I left some big Rp that I had been in for months and I got Left Behind, but you combined them both and I love you for it!
