A young boy cleared his throat, sitting in a dimly lit room with his friends. "Alright. I wanted to talk to you all about something very important," said he. He ran one hand through his white, messy hair as he pulled out a large piece of paper. "Remember when we found this?" He unrolled it, revealing lines dividing colors like green and blue. "I think I figured out what it is. I've been digging up some books in my basement. These things are called 'maps', apparently. They show how the plane looks like from above! This means there's a world outside of these ruins!"
Sienna crossed her arms, her eyes narrowed skeptically.
"I don't think so, Rose. That weird piece of paper's most likely a prank. Or, more likely, a drawing that accidentally got wet. How could there be anything beyond the ruins? We would have known by now." She paused, staring at something behind Aiden, then focused back on the boy. "No offense to anyone... And what would you do with it, anyways? It's not like you could go check it out yourself."
"Ahh what's the matter Sienna did you lose your sense of adventure?" Noah said with a small chuckle before sighing. "But as much as I hate to admit it, Sienna is right." He said while leaning back in his chair, getting serious. "If there was a world outside of the ruins then wouldn't you think one of the elders would have tried to get us to claim it? Oh and lets not forget that there are carnivorous beasts that prey on us every time we go out for food." Noah lightly touches blackjack while saying his words. "And even if we could get past them we aren't even supposed to know about that 'map' or whatever it is, let alone what it was used for.

He shot a glare at the two.
"Who said we were going to tell anyone before leaving? It's not like the elder would tell us if there was something out there!" he said, sounding annoyed. "Look, it's better than being stuck with 14 people. Have any of you actually left the barrier? There's no way there isn't more out there!"
"But Aiden..." Sienna said, with a bit less hostility and more reasoning in her voice, "Why would we even want to leave? Here we have shelter. Here we have families. No, I have not lost my sense of adventure, Noah. It's just..." she shook her head, then continued, her voice rising. "We could be hurt. We could be killed. We would never see our families again."
Scoffing, Aiden rolled up the map and stuffed it into his bag.
"You guys can't be serious... You're actually happy here? I personally don't care if I don't see my family if I get to see what no one else could!"
He crossed his arms and huffed, closing his eyes. "Well, I'm gonna leave no matter what you guys want to do. If I go alone, I won't last two days. Of course, I thought we were friends who watched each others' backs," he muttered, opening one eye, as if to see what their reaction would be.
Noah sighs and stands up from his seat "Hey look Aiden you know that we'll always be there for you, but this is insane even for us. We lose one or two warriors every single time we go out for food. Do you really think that the three of us have any chance?" He says before sighing and putting a hand on Aidens shoulder "But if you're sure about this......then count me in." He says before grinning "And besides where am I supposed to find another guy as gullible as you?"

Aria, who'd been leisurely laying down in her dog form, changed back to look at the map in detail. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it since she hadn't seen any maps and she was sure no one really kept the strange drawings around for a reason. "I... I don't think this..." she mumbled, barely audibly, when Aiden started talking about how he'd leave without them, much to her distress, and then Noah had spoken up too. "I don't think this is a good idea, I mean think about what were leaving behind. It's our only sense of security, the only place were we'll always be truly safe.... B-but I guess if you guys are going it'd be better for all of us to go together to increase our survival rate.... So I guess I'm in." she said in her usual quiet tone.
Josh was standing idly, listening to the whole conversation. The whole map thing sounded like something from a fantasy story, a tale of adventure and rebellion. Josh's thoughts were conflicted, an angel and devil arguing on his shoulders. "I shouldn't go. There is safety here, and the monsters outside would surely kill us. Who knows what the elders would do if they found out about this." Josh's angel in his mind argued. "But life is boring here. I always thought of being a warrior would mean adventure and that doesn't mean wandering around the forest just outside of the village. I have my friends as well. They are much more important than the elders. Not to mention the trinkets I may find out there." Josh's little devil in his mind argued back. Josh crossed his arms and let out a loud sigh, looking into Aiden's eyes. "As much as I don't want to go out there and suffer the same fate as my father, I'll go. There is strength in numbers and my friendship to you guys is stronger than my loyalty to the elders." Josh said in a rough tone.

"Why isn’t my life like a situation comedy? Why don’t I have a bunch of friends with nothing better to do but drop by and instigate wacky adventures? Why aren’t my conversations peppered with spontaneous witticisms? Why don’t my friends demonstrate heartfelt concern for my well-being when I have problems?… I gotta get my life some writers." ~Calvin, Calvin and Hobbes
Sienna groaned in mock frustration. "All my friends have gone insane!" She tilted her head thoughtfully. "I guess I could... Rethink my decision." She gave everyone a goofy look that said she would go. "I can tell the stories of you heroic deaths upon my return."
"Great!" Aiden exclaimed. He threw his hands in the air in joy. He turned to the rest of the group, scurrying to his feet. "Since they're coming, you guys have to come too! We'll meet up in front of my house in 10 minutes!"
He quickly ran out of the shed, kicking its door open.
After a short pause, Sienna inquired, "Does he seem a tad over excited? Perhaps this was a bad idea." She rolled her eyes disdainfully. "Boys."
Sienna tilted her head. There were quiet footsteps headed their way. They were the footsteps of a hunter- Her father, of course. He walked with a certain pattern that Sienna recognized. His steps were extremely quite; to anyone else they would be completely silent.
"Oops, my father's on his way." She gazed at her friends craftily. "You never saw me," she proclaimed in a hushed, dramatic voice, and then she was off, leather boots pounding at the dirt underfoot.
Noah at least had the decency of waiting until Sienna left before saying "So how long do you guys think we'll be able to survive on half baked ideas and luck? I bet about 5 minutes before we have to actually make a plan." He said before walking towards the door. "Oh wait Sienna's dad is coming." He said before looking around the room until stopping at a small hole in the building "Hmmm that could work' Noah says while activating his power, his eyes casting a blue light inside the room. "Alright I have a 78% chance of this working out, you guys can find your own way out if this works." He says before grabbing hold of the edges, his enhanced strength allowing him enough room to squeeze his way through. "Okay now I have to get home and grab some supplies before I come to my senses and realize that this is crazy." He said as he started to jog back to his house.

Aria sighed and opened the door to the shed just a crack before changing into the form of a brown tabby cat and opening the door the rest of the way. She slowly made her way out of the building before darting away toward her home. So we have a few hunters in our group so we shouldn't be too screwed. We might last a day or two. I'll probably be the weakest link in the group seeing how I was raised as an artisan rather than a warrior. Well I do have my shape shifting that I can use but... I need to stop thinking about this, I'm already here. She reverted back to her human form and unlocked the door.
She stepped into the small hall of her well-yet-cheaply decorated home. As she walked to her room she ran her fingers over the etchings in the wooden walls feeling nostalgic. When she got to her room she looked around and teared up a bit knowing she probably wouldn't return for a while. She moved over to her bed and reached under, pulling up a long yet shallow wooden box wedged in the very back behind her boxes of tools and materials along with a piece of paper and a pen. She quickly wrote a quick goodbye letter to her parents, telling them how much she loved them and that she was going to miss them, before folding it up and placing it under her mattress. She then picked up her jacket from where it laid on a hanger and put it on before gathering the rest of her items. She got her rope from one of her material bins, a spare blanket from a pile in the corner, and a survival knife from one of her tool bins. After putting all that in her backpack (Except for the knife which she clipped to her belt) she opened the box she'd pulled out revealing her bow, quiver, and arrows. She attached the quiver filled with arrows to her belt as well but kept the bow in hand as she snuck out the first story window and into the city. She pulled up her hood and kept her head low so she could appear as one of the hunters as she made her way to the meet up spot.
Aiden rushed to a tall building made of wood and stone. He pushed it's front door open and ran up the stairs. After going up a few flights, he kicked a door open and jumped inside. He threw his cloak at the coat-hanger.
"Mom, dad! I'm home!" Without getting a response, he ran into the living room, stuffing supplies into his bag. "I'm gonna go play with some friends!"
He grabbed the bag and his cloak, rushing down, leaving the door open.
Josh looked around the room for a way out. Sienna's dad was coming and he didn't want to get caught. His eyes caught on the back door of the room. "Ah, perfect" Josh thought. He silently walked to the door and put his large hand on the door knob. "Hope it's unlocked" he thought and he turned his hand. Thankfully the door opened, and Josh ran in the direction to his home.
Josh made it to his home, which was a small two-story complex. The old siding was falling off and some of the windows were nothing more than jagged pieces of glass attached to frames. He opened the screen door and walked inside. "Mom? I'm home." he called out. There was no answer back. He called out again but never heard another reply. He walked into the kitchen to make himself a snack, but his eyes caught on a note on the counter. Josh walked over to the counter and picked up the note and began reading it, his blue eyes scanning each letter. "Oh, she went to grab more food." he said to himself. Josh put the note down and went over to a cabinet and took out an apple. As Josh walked out of the kitchen and to his room, he took a bite of the apple, letting the sweet juices rush over his taste buds.
Josh's room wasn't a long walk from the kitchen, just on the other end of the hallway. He closed his door and took a breath, looking around in his room. His bed lay in one of the corners of the room. On the wall to his left were two wooden pegs nailed into the wall, his spear resting on them. There was a homemade quilt his mother wove that acted as his curtain for the only window in his room. Right next to his bed was a shelf which housed a backpack and a flask. Josh didn't waste time in packing his supplies. He took the spear off the rack and slung it over his back. The spear already had a sling attached to two ends, and the tip was barbed and pointy. Josh took the quilt off the window and started to shove it in his bag. He wanted to bring something that would remind him of home. After that, Josh slung one strap of the backpack over his shoulder and carried his flask in his free hand. The bag at this point contained his three throwing knives and the quilt. He walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. Josh put both the flask and backpack on the counter and began filling each with their contents, the bag holding some leftover food and the flask holding water. "Well, looks like this is it." he thought to himself. Clipping the flask onto his belt and slinging the backpack over his shoulder, he exited his house and started doing a short jog to the meeting place.

Walter had been listening silently to the others debate about whether or not to leave the village. The village was small and isolated, but safe. After hearing the end of the argument, Walter saw the others leave and did the same.
Walter entered his house and greeted his father, receiving a grunt in return. His father was engrossed in finding new treatments for the village warriors. Walter fetched his bag and a few items of his that might be useful. He grabbed his rope, medicinal kit, weapons, some bread and some spare clothes.
"I'm going away for a while." He announced to his father, receiving another grunt in return. Walter knew that his father would notice he was gone tomorrow, since his father was engrossed in his work, Walter had an opportunity to go on an adventure with his friends. A few minutes had past and he arrived in front of Aiden's house.
"Hey, Walter! You came!" Aiden waved his friend over and got up from the stairs. "I was worried you wouldn't come when you didn't say anything."
He smiled full-heartedly and put his hands on his hips. "I'm glad you're here. I'm so booored! The others are taking too long!"
Looking around, Aiden noticed Josh approaching from down the road. He jumped up with excitement. "This is a bit scary but exciting! I've been preparing for a whole year for this!"
A young boy cleared his throat, sitting in a dimly lit room with his friends. "Alright. I wanted to talk to you all about something very important," said he.
