"Thanks." Adam said as he sat down, "You missed a nonsensical test overseen by a slightly psychopathic teacher who throws knives a few centimetres from your face if you talked. Also you should take bladed skill mastery and hunter equipment 101 if you want to progress to D rank."
Changing the subject, Adam said "That is a nice bow you have there." Adam examined it closely, it was a sturdy compound bow that seems to have been used a lot. "You must be pretty good at archery. I'm not very good myself."
((Also, Adam's eyes aren't pale, his skin is. Sorry if you got confused))
Seeing how most of the students were still outside the classroom, Aiden shuffled in his spot nervously. After a few moments, he grunted and pulled out his sketchbook from his bag along with his pencil. He opened the book and flipped through it, looking for an empty page as he spun the pencil on his other hand. Once he found a blank one, he slammed his free hand on the opposite page and started scribbling.
"Magic mainly, channelled through my lantern", Adam replied, "although I do have a silver knife in case of emergency"
Adam picked up his lantern and placed it on the desk, he proceeded to give an example of the magic he was talking about by making the lantern glow slightly for a few seconds.
Adam looked at the knife Kowsha had brought out. "That's neat, my magic is mainly light-related, I can make light appear inside the lantern, also a magic light that causes visions which can drive people crazy but I don't use that very often. When I do it is because that situation is pretty severe." Oops, I think I may have said too much, I hope it doesn't scare him off Adam thought
Adam glanced at the mysterious triangular object, "I have no clue what that thing is" Adam gestured towards the object.
"I, err.. am a Lampad, we come from the afterlife where we guide the souls of the blessed. About a month ago, Hecate sent 12 Lampades, including myself, to Earth to help with the demon problem." Adam said gently, he didn't want to scare Kowsha off lie to him.
Realising that what he said might cause a negative reaction with Kowsha, Adam quickly stopped talking and turned to face the front of the classroom.
After a few moments that seemed to last hours but in reality only lasted seconds, Adam turned again and said "Sorry, if I scared you." Before returning back to looking at the front of the room again.
"Well, it really depends on which part you are in, the souls of the blessed go to Elysium. It is peaceful there, but there are many other places that are not as good. There are frozen wastes, dark mountains, endless desert and some absolutely awful places." Adam replied, feeling relieved the Kowsha wasn't scared off.
Seeing Kowsha's frown, Adam said "Sorry about turning away, some people can react badly when I say where I am from and what my powers are."
((We're starting to ping-pong here, we should probably wait for someone else to post before continuing.))
Rayth Albrigs The Hunter shuffled, standing up from his sitting position and facing the class. "Well, it would seem the majority of you are here, and now it would be time to get this class moving along." Rayth pushed his books aside, making them fold up neatly and rest on their ends as he spread a large sheet of parchment across the rest of the desk. "Okay, so I am, or rather will be, your rituals teacher, i may take some of you for greater magic lessons but it is unlikely." Rayth's index moved along the parchment as if he were reciting the words which had been written prior to class. "Undoubtedly many of you are new and have not been through the basic protocols of the hunter academy system.”
Rayth sighed before moving his hands away from the parchment he had spread out. “First things first, if you already know all the procedures then feel free to sleep or something for the next ten minutes while i explain.” He glanced around at several students he knew from his classes already. “First off, hunters may take ‘missions’ from the mission wall, it is located in the clock tower building on the opposite side of the courtyard from here. “Rayth somewhat motioned towards the general direction. “Being E Rank, you’ll only be able to remove E rank tokens from the wall.”
Reaching into his pocket, the Hunter withdrew a small coin with a hole in its center. “Mission tokens look like this, though sometimes the higher level ones like to decorate themselves more… uh, fancily.” He put the token back where it came from. “Mission statements are primarily found in the OP of the OOC thread, just in case you get lost.” He made a swirling motion with his hand and sighed deeply once more.
“Okay then!” Rayth’s mood instantly changed. “Now the fun stuff, actual class stuff, I like to start my class on the first day, just to surprise people.” Rayth moved the large triangular object up onto the table and lifted it in half, revealing that it was merely some sort of container. From the box Rayth removed a large glass bottle, similar in shape to the box itself, but it was covered in chains and padlocks. Inside the bottle swirled a mixture of crimson and purple.
“Wraith blood!” The hunter exclaimed triumphantly, slamming the bottle almost carelessly back onto the desk. “Not that wraiths have blood, that is just what this mixture is called, it’s mostly some garden weeds and dead things actually.” He stared at the bottle intensely and swirled it about, the red and the purple forming spirals but never mixing completely. “Lesson one, an underappreciated practice, but one i think is important.” Rayth removed several small glass bottles from the same triangular box, each containing a few sticks of chalk. “Binding traps, not as powerful or useful as normal demon traps, but they’re quick to make and can easily trip up anyone.”
Rayth moved to the rectangle’s center, drawing a circle in chalk and filling it in with what looked to be a poorly drawn flower, or maybe it was supposed to be a dog. After which he threw a small phial of the mixture which he had poured out moments before into the center, there was a puff of black smoke and the chalk began moving, taking the appearance of thorny vines. The hunter demonstrated the usage for such a seal, when he stepped near it the tendrils lifted from the 2D surface and grasped at his ankle, trying to grab him. “Normally i let students test things in their own time for homework, but today i suppose we can go out to the courtyard and mess around with this simple seal.” Rayth put down another phial, as he had been talking he had simultaneously been pouring out the mixture into tiny glass phials just like the one he had thrown into his own circle.
“And before we head out, if my timing is correct…” Rayth stared at the seal on the floor, though an awkward silence followed for the next 20 seconds before the tendrils and the chalk all disappeared in a flaming burst. “Oh, i guess i made the mixture a little bit stronger this time. No matter.” Rayth put one last phial down on the desk next to another phial filled with chalk sticks. “Most ritual things can be purchased in town, though some people like to gather their stuff fresh.” Rayth began heading for the door but continued to talk. “A store called Rituals+Alchemy is my personal favorite for phials and materials.”

Casey listened quite inattentively to the teacher as he rattled off information and instructions. However, she still had the good sense to record in some section of her brain the things he was saying. As it stands, she was tinkering with the gems she bought, mulling over which would be the best ratio for her to store energy in, considering Viper and Scorpion would be pretty useless for them, and Barriers need to be specific, and platforms don't really need the boost. While she toyed around with the idea, she checked her peripherals, confirming that she was still flanked on both sides by the two she had dragged through hell and high water(though it was more of a crowd and lots of shouty people) to get to class in time. She was panting quite heavily awhile ago herself, but now that she has calmed her nerves down a bit, she paid more attention to what was being said in class, processing the earlier recorded information in her head in addition to the unfinished lecture.
Just in time too, as the teacher somehow got more lively, and seemed even excited to show them something. Leaning forward a little, Cas looked inquisitively towards the table, where the teacher was setting something up. A large, triangular...container, as it appears, was brought up on the table. Cas scoffed and leaned back as the teacher proceeded to take out various vials and bottles from it, sharply remarking, "Inefficient. Unless it's special for some reason, that container is highly inefficient." Immediately after which, the teacher removed a similarly large, triangular bottle whose contents seem to be evenly split. "Oh, I guess that explains the shape."
As he proceeded with his demonstration, Casey watched with interest, and perked up in delight of the thought of being able to immediately get a hands on experience with such a seemingly fun practice. He stepped into the circle, wherein the moving drawings sprang to life and grasped his ankle. While there was seemingly no pressure coming from the drawings itself, the teacher made it pretty clear that he was bound in place pretty well, and she recalled his side-comment that these were good for tripping people up well. As half a minute passed in dead awkward silence, the vines finally dissipated, and Casey giggled a little as the man started walking again. She turned to her left, eyes glittering in excitement, "Hey Rokudo, why don't you be the guinea pig for this test, hm?"

After a trip to town, Rokudo made his way back to the classroom with Casey and the other student. As the three find a seat to sit, they immediately spot the ritual teacher entering the room right after we arrived for about a minute or so, "it seems like we're not late for the ritual class..." Rokudo quietly speaks to the other two. The Ritual teacher then start his lesson not so long after his arrival, he start off by mentioning stuff like missions and some of the other basic stuff, Rokudo listen carefully to the teacher as he speaks since this topic kind of catch Rokudo attention right away.
But then things seems to go the way he wish it didn't, as the teacher goes on and explain about stuff related to the ritual class, Rokudo seems to be lost in the amount of details given by the teacher as that amount keep increasing. [aww.. What? another one? First lesson is a test.. And now second one is a lecture of ritual class.. Mann i really have a bad feeling about this] Rokudo then turn to Casey beside him just to see that even Casey understand this [huh? What... Really? Casey understand this? Wait... but this is.. Kind of a very basic stuff for everyone...] Rokudo then look around the classroom once [aww.. Am I the only one who's clueless on this.? Seriously??.. *sigh* how dumb can I be.. Hmmm...]. As Rokudo tried his best to understand the lesson, Casey turned and face him asking if he could be his/her Guinea pig for some sort of test, "huh? G-Guinea pig??.."
Adam watched the demonstration with interest, "Oh... So that's what triangular thing was." Adam said to himself audibly. That ritual might be useful he thought before taking out his notebook. He furiously took notes in his somewhat messy writing accompanied with a half-hearted diagram. I can fix up the diagram Adam thought as he looked at the hasty drawing that didn't look like anything at all.
Despite the teacher saying "binding trap", Adam was surprised by the 'vines' grasping the teacher's leg. I was expecting something more like an invisible box...
Rituals + Alchemy, the words had just drifted into Adam's ears before he wrote them down in the notebook. Note to self: buy some ritual materials after school, and perhaps visit the market
Melyssa watched the teacher calmly as he gave his explanation on missions. So missions are found on the mission boards and you need that token thingy to go get one. That's simple enough. I guess I should go look at those later and pick one that fits me. Picking something easy on the first run wouldn't be bad, right?
When the teacher gave his demonstration of the ritual-vine-rope-chalk-thing she was generally interested. She'd never seen someone use a ritual and had never bothered to teach herself any of it since her training schedule was hectic so she never had time to study it. This could be rather useful later on. You could gain a few seconds with it. I guess I'll have to pick up stuff for this later. She thought and her pleasure only grew when the teacher said they would be allowed to practice with it.
Adam looked up from his notebook, the teacher had left but no-one seemed to get up. He checked his pocket watch, "That was quick, I thought the class would take longer." Adam said. He picked up his notebook, pens and lantern before standing up. "I think I might visit the library after class." He muttered to himself.
Adam walked slowly towards the door, stopping only to inspect the remains of the binding trap left on the floor. He entered the musty hallway, and followed the teacher into the courtyard. He sat down next to the fountain an dbegan revising the notes he had written on the ritual whilst waiting for the others.
Rayth Albrigs Rayth helped students out with their attempts at recreating the binding seal he had created moments ago, students spread out over the courtyard, some forming groups while others simply tested the spell out for themselves. For the most part Rayth stood back, letting students act on their own, only stepping in when things went wrong and stuff started to smoke or explode. “Be careful not to simply create a random symbol, it should at least be somewhat similar to the one i drew.”
Rayth removed some Chalk from his pocket and began to draw a large replica of the symbol on the pitch in front of himself for students to look at if they needed a little more reference. He left the symbol and headed over to one of the students who was wrestling with a 12m tall chalk vine. Throwing a powdered substance on the chalk seemed to hasten the dispelling time, the student fell to the ground and quickly scurried off, embarrassed at having created the seal too big. “Be careful with size, sometimes you might not be able to handle the trap.”
Rayth continued to look around at students, nodding at them. Everyone seemingly had the idea down pretty quickly. “Once you’ve had enough you can leave, that is it for today, there might be a couple more orientation things tomorrow, else your classes will probably be starting.”
Mythril Sunbound Mythril drew a small chalk symbol and threw the mixture on it, it wriggled for a bit before only reacting to her going near it, she hadn’t asked anyone to group up with her as working by herself seemed more appropriate. She poked her hand towards the seal and it grabbed at her arm before dispelling in a swift puff of smoke. “heh, that’s cool i guess.” Mythril looked around at all the other students, most people were seemingly getting the idea pretty quickly, she wondered if rituals would become much harder than this.
Mythril pulled a piece of paper from her pocket, she had done a little bit of research into what classes there were, it didn’t seem like there were many for her to attend this first year, but all the same they sounded interesting, and the teachers of the subjects she had met so far were certainly interesting. “What do you think?” “I think this is a waste of time, we should just grab a bunch of missions and head out for a few week- Hey!” Mythril was already ignoring Altimeus, drawing cats on the courtyard in chalk.
She looked over to one of the other students, the weird GenderFluid character that didn’t seems too normal, it was drawing some elaborate picture that looked a bit like the symbol but Mythril thought that maybe it had a bit too much detail. Mythril slowly stopped drawing cats and turned to see if it would work or not. The student stepped back and threw the phial of liquid onto the seal. Nothing.
There were several moments of silence, then the seal vanished. “Maybe seals vanish when they don’t work?” Mythril shrugged and turned back to her cats wearing monocles and hats and things, but soon after the sound of air being shredded. Looking up she saw it, a swirling mass in the sky, purple flames emanating from its core, then teeth.
Mythril stared in awe, a large creature burst through the portal in seconds, but the cinematic made the scene seem to last for minutes, the behemoth began running towards the academy, at such a speed that it seemed to be moving in slow motion even though it was simply far away from the academy.
The creature continued running a burning trail being left behind it, it was at least twice the size of the Academy’s tallest building. An alarm began to sound and the teachers began to vacate the first year students out towards the main entrance, Mythril watched as some of the more advanced students and teachers readied their weapons, preparing to fight this creature.
“Come on! Run!” Rayth was shouting at the students by this point, ushering them all towards the main building to leave. Mythril stood up and brushed her knees of, somewhat sad that her pictures of cats might be destroyed. She was about to leave when she heard the smashing of Glass and watched as a figure draped in gray came soaring out from the top level of the main building, holding two swords. “I think that is possibly the headmaster.” Mythril turned to look at the beast storming its way towards the academy. “This is big.”
Adam almost fell backward when he saw the monster, then he heard the teacher shouting at the student to run. Adam followed the order without hesitation. There is no way I can take on that! Adam thought as he ran.
All he could hear was the voices of people, the roaring of the creature and the hurried beating of his heart. Adam caught glimpses of a figure in grey but didn't pay much attention, he was too busy running towards the main building. "What is that!?" Adam shouted in a panic, he wasn't expecting an answer but he wanted to know. He had never heard of something like the creature.

Casey dropped the chalk she was holding as she stared at the beast running towards the academy. A single syllable word escaped her mouth, expressing her full emotions at the current consisting of half hearted regret and boundless excitement. As the word was uttered, she smiled a little, staring at the lumbering monstrosity that was approaching fast. "Oops." A grin spread across her face as her eyes settled down on Rokudo, who was still awkwardly standing beside the circle, was soon taken by hand as a man came flying out of a broken window in the behemoth's general direction.
"Well come on then, supposed-to-be-a-test-subject, let's see what you can do!" Cas sprinted towards the botched-but-apparently-successful summon, dragging the poor soon-to-be(if-he-doesn't-die) sword master along with him. As they passed by Mythril, Cas gleefully waved at her while running at top speed, coming to a smoking halt behind a line of veterans that have gathered. Dropping Rokudo, he channeled energy into a freer form, racking up a sizable amount of bullets at the ready to welcome the towering threat that now looms overhead.

Rokudo look down at the circle with worried look on his face since he didn't really know what he need to do, he slowly look at Casey and about to talk to her about the experiment but an unexpected interruption has prevent him from doing so. A massive creature burst through a mysterious portal and step on to the area far from the academy, the sudden appearance of such creature have certainly stunned most of the students here that could spot the massive creature heading this way. Rokudo look up at the creature heading toward the academy direction with a cold eyes, his battle instinct seems to be activated and ready to battle such enemy that awaits him but then a slight fear emit in his mind and start to affect his battle instinct within him. As Rokudo attempt to stabilize his mind while still standing near the chalk circle, Casey suddenly take his hand as a figure jump out of the building windows with two swords in his hand seems to be prepared against the behemoth.
Rokudo didn't really understand on what he's doing right now, but he decided to follow Casey and reinforce the veterans in facing the threat that is soon going to approach the academy.
Adam turned around to see what was happening, he saw some students from his class attempting to assist the more experienced hunters. Realising he should probably help Adam said, "This is such a bad idea" as he ran towards Casey and another student he hadn't met yet.
"What are you doing!?" Adam shouted to be able to be heard above all the other shouting happening. Adam raised his lantern which had started to glow. The glow increased over time, growing into a blinding light, which he shot towards the creature's eyes. Maybe if I can blind it, it could stop Adam thought as he charged another shot. Making sure to avoid hitting anyone other than the creature. "This is such a bad idea. This is such a bad idea." Adam muttered to himself.
Aiden walked outside and took a deep breath. "It's like this day will never end..."
Just as he finished his sentence, he heard a couple of cries and opened his eyes, seeing the students flood inside. He froze upon noticing the gigantic monster. What...? What the hell is that...? Is that a demon? I... I need to run... His feet didn't move. He was trembling in fear. He felt each beat of his heart as the students brushed past him. He noticed a couple of new students getting ready to help the teachers. Huh..? What are they thinking!?
He stood there in horror, unable to move an inch. I need to get out of here... I don't want to....
Melyssa followed the lagging students out of the room and had just gotten her materials when the hulking demon appeared from the portal. Where in the world did that come from? Ok HOW did it get here could a student screw up that much when they were practicing the ritual? Look at that thing, it's a giant.Instinctively she dropped her vile and chalk and instead reached for her gun but she didn't find it it's holster.Darn it, I left it in a locker.Guess I'll have to go inside with the rest of the students then. I hope the others are alright. Amaris seems the type to be able to handle herself so I'm not really worried about her. But... She thought as she jogged, noticing that Aiden seemed paralyzed. This kid I have to worry about. "Come on now, you either fight it or run and you're doing neither so you're coming with me for now." She said and grabbed his arm to pull him away.
Mythril Sunbound Six times. The creature reared up and it was at least six times the size of the Academy, its face lacked features and was mostly teeth and metal-like plates. Its front legs ended in deadly claws the size of buses, its tail burned with the darkest of ember flames. A bellowing pitch was let loose, glass shattering people cowing with their hands over their ears to minimise damage. Few of the veteran teachers understood this toungue, Altimeus relayed the information to Mythril. “Run. Now.” Mythril picked up her weapon and ran after the rest of the students from her class.
“That thing has like a bajillion teeth, imagine getting eatened by it, the chance that you would survive in one piece is the craziest thing he he.” Mythril began giggling, with that Altimeus took charge, pointing forwards and moving through the air Altimeus began dragging the girl’s feet along the carpet pulling her faster towards the rest of the group to catch up. “We are getting out of here now, rank-wise that thing would be classed as- “
Caliosed Halfbring “A RANK!” Caliosed, a teacher of advanced weaponry combat jumped aside with inhumanly precision avoiding a claw that came smashing down through the air. He raised both his swords to his side, together the swords must have weighed at least as much as he did in his full armor set. “This one isn't on record, it shouldn't be too difficult to take down but we need to protect the students.” His swords spun around on their hilts, a large gear cracking sound could be heard as the blades lit themselves on fire. Caliosed vaulted into the air, dashing forwards before landing on the beasts head, he ran his flaming blades across the creatures gargantuan skull before jumping backwards with an oomph. “It’s no use, its an armor class A rank, no photo-receptors, no visible weak spots. Intangible tail spike, dark flame.” Calios went on to explain many other attributes he had obtained with a single slash, things a first year or perhaps not even a third year hunter would be capable of comprehending. Two new big league teachers joined the field, magical books with glowing chains growing from them floated by their sides.
Caliosed rehinged his swords, their flames switching to an eerie green though their weight somehow seemed to increase vastly, visible only in the slight discomfort he was showing, holding the blades slightly lower. “Tier two ghost flame archetype.” The teacher smirked, he quite enjoyed stating what he was doing, a couple of the less ‘well built’ male teachers only grunted in response, thinking Caliosed to be merely overcompensating.
“Who called me?” This time the demon’s voice bellowed in a more familiar tongue. “Where is sh- he?” a deathly red flame began emanating from between the demons scales. “Give up the kid and nothing will come of this fight.” The Academy headmaster spoke, revealing herself to be female only distinguishable from her voice due to her heavily clad armor which left indents as she walked. “We’d sooner die.” She made a spitting sound which led to a number of teachers giving her an odd look. (her helmet was basically completely concealing)
“Then sooner die you will.” An ear pitching nails on a blackboard sound filled the sky, which could only be considered this foul being’s laugh.
((Sorry for the short post, but the action is picking up.))
Changing the subject, Adam said "That is a nice bow you have there." Adam examined it closely, it was a sturdy compound bow that seems to have been used a lot. "You must be pretty good at archery. I'm not very good myself."

Adam picked up his lantern and placed it on the desk, he proceeded to give an example of the magic he was talking about by making the lantern glow slightly for a few seconds.
"Any ideas as to what we will learn today?"
((It's alright))
Adam glanced at the mysterious triangular object, "I have no clue what that thing is" Adam gestured towards the object.
"So, where do you come from?" Adam asked.

Rituals + Alchemy, the words had just drifted into Adam's ears before he wrote them down in the notebook. Note to self: buy some ritual materials after school, and perhaps visit the market

Adam walked slowly towards the door, stopping only to inspect the remains of the binding trap left on the floor. He entered the musty hallway, and followed the teacher into the courtyard. He sat down next to the fountain an dbegan revising the notes he had written on the ritual whilst waiting for the others.
Rayth helped students out with their attempts at recreating the binding seal he had created moments ago, students spread out over the courtyard, some forming groups while others simply tested the spell out for themselves.
Mythril Sunbound
Mythril drew a small chalk symbol and threw the mixture on it, it wriggled for a bit before only reacting to her going near it, she hadn’t asked anyone to group up with her as working by herself seemed more appropriate.
Sometimes I wonder if it's all too easy.
Lying, cheating, stealing your way to victory.
Though just how far would you fall for a dream?
Rokudo didn't really understand on what he's doing right now, but he decided to follow Casey and reinforce the veterans in facing the threat that is soon going to approach the academy.

Six times.
“We are getting out of here now, rank-wise that thing would be classed as- “
Caliosed Halfbring
“A RANK!” Caliosed, a teacher of advanced weaponry combat jumped aside with inhumanly precision avoiding a claw that came smashing down through the air.
