United Socialist States of America
"And they declared independence?"
"Yes Mr. President. They call them selves the United States, the old name."
Marcus sighed, the USSA has been around for three years, and all hes done is rebuild and reconstruct everything the USSA currently holds. The Economy is completely reformed into a stable well oiled machine, the military is no longer a simple punching bag, and the public is happy with all the new jobs he created in only three years. "So why did they choose to rebel, exactly?"
Well sir, we're not that sure, but we're guessing its just a bunch of democratic loving nuts trying to bring back the old ineffective government. Since the war with Florida, we have to revise the states succeeding subject. No state is allowed to rebel or else they will be met with military action."
"I'm not launching any invasion against our own states, they do not have the resources to last very long. New England has very little farmland and natural resources at its disposal. We'll simply blockade them until they decide to rejoin the Socialist Union."
USSA Military forces, such as the Army and National Guard, in New York have been stationed across the entire New England border. No food, water, or raw resources were entering New England.

(( As stated in the OOC thread, the newly formed nation doesn't call itself the " United States ", it calls itself the " New England Republic ". ))
New England Republic
The USSA acknowledged New England's independence and accepted it without resistance, something many citizens weren't expecting, and certainly not Robert Holland, who had began readying his rebels for defense when he heard of the news. The news quickly traveled through the newly formed nation, and the streets erupted in celebration. From Maine to Connecticut, men and women took to the streets to celebrate this new beginning, and birth of a nation they could proudly stand by. A nation dedicated to Democracy, liberty, and knowledge, but above all, the protection of its citizens.
Rhode Island capitol building, New England Republic
Robert Holland, now president of the New England Republic, stood on the office of the capitol building, looking down at the masses below through a window on the second floor. He could hardly believe it, but it was real. After years of ridicule and rejection, he had finally liberated New England from the USSA.
Staring at his own reflection, he seemed drowned in his own thoughts, snapping back into complete consciousness upon hearing the voice of one of his most trusted advisors.
" Mr. President, we are awaiting your commands. "
Robert turned to the man, smiling, " I don't know if I'll ever get used to being called that ", he said, laughing before continuing. " I suppose we should begin bringing our plans forward immediately, eh? "
" The USSA still holds many of its troops within our soil. It would be in our bests interests to rid of them. " the man reminded Robert.
" Ah, yes. Of course. Begin as planned. All USSA military personal shall be removed from New England soil as soon as possible. USSA citizens within New England are to deported back into the USSA, as well. Once this is done, we may begin the transformation of this newly formed republic. " he finished, knowing the advisor would be familiar with his plans.
" As you wish, Mr. President. It shall be done. Anything else, sir? "
" Yes, in fact. Contact our Canadian allies. I have.. plans for our nations. "

Mahatma Sarvodaya sat in a comfortable, padded chair, just outside the border of Delhi. The area he was in, however, was anything but comfortable. Outside, troops readied ammunition and weaponry as an ugly battle was about to begin. A raid on a military outpost in the region was the first step in the grand plan Mahatma had engineered. By no means did he expect it to go exactly the way he'd planned it; war was too unpredictable for that. But success had to be inevitable. The raid was just preparation, in the end. Stealing weapons from the enemy to use against the enemy. The uprising would not be in secret, of course. Letting the rest of the world know that mother India was still alive would make even the greatest world powers tremble.
The first line of soldiers began moving out, traditional war style, with a front line of marchers. Shots rang out, and bodies fell. All were Indian. The real fight had yet to come, though. While the guards of the barracks were either taking potshots at the foolish-looking soldiers or waking the troops inside, a squad of troops circled around the compound. With the gate guards stopping the advancing troops, nobody was there. The squad went in.
Inside, hallways lined with splintered wood led to various doors and rooms. Taking great care to remain silent, a few soldiers dressed in Delhi uniforms began patrolling the hallways. Soon, other troops would come out, and those soldiers would fire upon their 'own men'. The only distinguishable difference was a badge on their uniform that had the UFI insignia on it. Hopefully the clamor would distract enemy soldiers from noticing. The remaining troops, however, began wiring up explosives behind or under furniture and appliances. A countdown timer was placed on each of them. From there, they exited out the way they had originally entered. It had taken four minutes and fifty-six seconds. Four seconds less than planned.
Once around half of the marching line had been gunned down, they began retreating. At first, the enemy began cheering. Then firing opened up inside their own lines. A group of six soldiers, almost at the back of Delhi lines, spread out evenly throughout them, began firing on the unsuspecting soldiers. These soldiers, having had their guns pointed the other way, and being faced with machine guns, had little chance to retaliate. A little less than half of them had been gunned down before the spies were removed. Almost a minute later, the compound rocked as explosions bombarded the buildings. The confused soldiers looked around for any sign of rockets or grenades, but saw none. With a great burst of flame and shrapnel, the central barracks exploded, sending troops flying in burning, screaming lumps.
The army began to advance. Nobody was fired upon. Was it possible that they had killed every single Delhi soldier? No. As soon as they were within twenty meters of the wreckage, shots rang out. Less than three soldiers had been maimed before the survivors were lying in the dirt. The troops began scouring the compound, taking engineers and cowards as prisoners of war. They would all be put on trial and assassinated for trying to destroy the Indian nation. Though Gandhi had taught of mercy and peace, surely he couldn't have tolerated Indian destruction twice, simply because a few soldiers had survived? No, there would be no exceptions. Guns taken from the fallen and armories were loaded into empty bags. Step one of the plan was complete. The government would hear about this, but by then it would be too late. They would already be across the border.

Drug Control agents have arrested twenty persons responsible for the smuggling of several thousand pounds of Pakistani opium and heroine today. The bust was a clean success and the confiscated drugs quickly destroyed. In a telephone interview the chief of police praised: "Our men our powerful and skilled. No one can hide from us or expect to operate for very long."
No word yet on if these men are members of the infamous Red Guard Gang.
In related news, Red Guard lieutenant Yao Win has been found guilty in trail. On top of multiple charge of drug possession, distribution, and manufacture he is found guilty of multiple accounts of sedition and organized murder. He is due for execution by firing squad in Nanning tomorrow morning.
On the otherside of the world today, separatists in the Rhode Island declared their independence several days ago. No publicized response from the USSA government. Hou's office urges caution. Somewhere in Moscow
The streets were as always dirty in spring, full of not fully melted snow, mud and rubbish. Someone needs to get there a good cleaning.
One of the street was lonely and silent. The RUB activists were meeting there.
"Гребаный снег. Ненавижу весну" said on of them, coming to the meeting place.
"А поэты как Пушкин ее обожали" said the one who was standing there before.
"Да хрен с этими поэтами, зачем собираемся мы?" said the one who was younger.
Then a man looking better than others (mainly in clothing) walked towards the group.
"' class='bbc'>Я тут вижу раньше меня пришли, наконец." the stranger said.
"О, привет Василий! Мы тут уже все собрались, встречу можно объявить открытой?" one of men said
"'s start this.' class='bbc'>Да зачем так формально? Была-бы резиденция... Ну да ладно. Начнем." said Vasily.
"Товарищи! Начинаем!" Vasily exclaimed and got everyone's attention. The people formed some sort of circle around him, prepearing to listen. Nothing very important would be said today, but Vasily knew that he should overally check the status of the company.
"' class='bbc'>Отлично. Сразу перейду к вопросам, дел у нас полно. Первое: Как у нас пропаганда?" Vasily asked the group.
One of them, a young man stepped forward (he was surely the one who is resposible for propoganda) and reported the status. He said that everything is mostly great, that some of propagandists in St. Petersburg went missing, that in most cities the army is ready for revolution (in terms of causing revolution themselves of course). The man finished the raport quite fast. Vasily liked it. So much things for them to do...
"Спасибо Гена. Так, теперь последний вопрос, на этот раз, к Константину Григорьевичу." Vasily looked over the people, searching for the old man who was responcible for their "science". Not to call this things science though. Their theoretical physics are doing far better than practical though. "' class='bbc'>Константин, как у нас с нашей... Наукой?" the last word had some strange emotional notes in it. But the old man didn't react on them, reporting about the successes of theoretical physics, the fact that they need to get their hands on one of theese giant computers to help them with counting and heckloads of information about theoretical physics. Vasily supported this, but he knew that theories can't help them now. "'t need theories, we need practical stuff. Do you have anything practical?' class='bbc'>Константин, можно я перебью? Спасибо. Проблема в том, что теориями мы ничего не сделаем. Если в будущем, когда все наладится, вы будете главным по науке, я одобрю теоретическую физику. Но сейчас нам нужна не теория, нужна практика. Практичное что-то есть?" Vasily interrupted the speech to say his opinion. The old man paused, remembering what he knew from his informants and some of scientists he knew personally and then started saying that they've managed to replicate a flamethrower, but it's very unstable and they are afraid to test it. He also said that they managed to make a great fertiliser that is cheap and working surprisingly well. He also said that they have stopped working with the coil gun because of it's impractical sises and absolutely impractical KPD. Vasily was amused by most of those news. "Ну вот и славно. Встречаемся скоро. А сейчас у нас дела..." said Vasily, unoficially stopping the meeting and leaving. People started going back to their homes too...
(Ack. This is going to take getting used to. Generally I'm used to seeing it dropped more in minor roles where you can get it with context. Not full dialog...
I've seen a few things in there on theoretical physics and super-computers. Computers are hardly any good. If anything the calculators used on battleships to get trajectories right. Nothing to get calculations on bomb sizes or anything.)
Novogorod
The coming of spring heralded an end to hard times. And although the snow still clung to the ground the air was not the rigid cold hand that held everyone with the threat of freezing. For those that breathed, it was a time to sigh relief as yet another carefully rationed thousand liters of oil was well-spent.
Given the highly-contested status of the Komi oil fields, and the bombings of the drilling platforms, refineries, and pipe-lines, petroleum was a highly sought after commodity. Even before the destruction of many of the wells the citizens and communal government of Novogorod had known the cold well. The simple fact that Father Radek dismissed the rule of any of the boyars and generals had doomed them to being oil-less. They had what they could steal, smuggle, and conserve.
But now with the oil fields on fire, and only supplying the base needs of Komi Radek could shout all he wanted about how they were no less righteous than the tzar of old. And for that they couldn't make any new condemnations. They were all on the same level field.
Having no armor to speak of Novogorod's armed guard were well accustomed to giving chase by foot or by horse. A few motorcycles patrolled the streets. But this luxury was granted to the officer class, or to those with heavier weapons.
Since Finland the Chinese have sought to better arm the Radek's troops. They tried what they could to fly and smuggle supplies in. Bullets, aids, advisers. Through these links Radek conveyed to the Chinese his rage and not taking the oil for themselves as to directly supply him.
But they assured him, it would be alright.
A horse clopped down the empty street of Novogorod. Atop sat a young soldier. And although his face was that of being twenty-six he had saw combat for five hard-years. Since being thrown onto the front to keep the "Imperial and Capitalist pigs" from entering the region he was well hardened. Badges adorned his heavy, dusty-grey greatcoat. An assault rifle bounced on his back at every step of the horse.
He scanned the distant road. It was still early morning and the city had yet to waken up. He let his eyes wander about the bullet-ridden walls; artifacts from long ago.
Inoperable cars lined the street, should a proper westerner lay eyes on this site they would first be under the assumption they could not. But if they examined the gas-tanks they would find them empty, or stripped. Many cases bore the sign of looting and many tires were missing. Often times hoods and doors or entire engines cleaned out.
They often had to burn something.
The veteran boy's eyes slid over a wall. Pausing briefly on a piece of paper on a wall. Something that shouldn't be there. His brow furrowed in resentment and he kicked his horse into action. It responded well trained, turning to where his master was turned and trotted onto the side-walk, bringing the rider right up to the wall.
He didn't need to read the sign to know it was seditious. He reached into his pocket and withdrew a match box. Striking one carefully in his mitten-clad hands he lit one of the sticks. Then carefully lowered it to the corner of the flier taped hap-hazardously to the side of the bombed-out house. Tongues of flame licked to life and began to climb up the poster with a life of their own. Hungrily devouring.
"Bastards." the officer hissed angrily. There would be no arrests, unfortunately. The structure that was once a house no-doubt contained any living residences.
The street had been closed and President Tom Rans was about to make a national address, in front of nearly 350,000 live people. He stepped onto a raised platform and began, "My people, you have been lied to by your government before, but not today. Today I come out with an all to obvious truth, the anti Canadian rallies in America are reaching new lows. The NWC is being targeted as much as Canada. The USSA has abandoned freedom, democracy and all values it once held so dear. They have divulged into a hateful vengeful people, who cannot forgive nor forget. Canada proposed a deal to create armoured AA batteries among all their cities, it was accepted, I am now telling you, my people that this plan is now in effect, and within 2 months all NWC cities will be fortified. We are currently employing members, please subit your resume and defend our nation."
There was a long murmur in the crowd before a loud powerful and booming applause.
Secret Base facility 25 North Alberta
Progress was going well, the chemical was extremely potent. Admittedly their had been a few leaks, and a few casualties but nothing a small cover up wouldn't be able to fix. The agent, being called VX was a highly toxic liquid that could be made into a deadly fine power. The power was dissolved in water, degrading in only 2 days, yet retaining toxicity throughout the decay. Without water it took in the span of two weeks.
A scientist was in front of a glass chamber, he said in a calm voice, with a noticeable British accent, "Begin trial one hundred and seventy-six." As commanded a pig was marched into the glass chamber and a vent in the celling opened up, the scientist said again, "Release agent, direct skin contact." It was less than one minute, the pig simply swayed and died. An advantage of nerve agents, much less disgusting and brutal than those barbaric suffocation gases.
The scientist wrote down the results of the test and logged everything, then another one butted in, "Sir the animal test was conclusive, yet we are far from a final product. When will we be shipping the reports to the army? We might be over schedule."
The first scientists said, "Lets not think about that now, I don't want any human subjects any time soon like the army would demand."
Government Intelligence Office Calgary Alberta
It was a dark office, the intelligence minister was sitting with three other men, he began "Separatists you say? Intriguing... What are our options, the public will support any pro democratic option."
One of the men said, "Sir we could attempt to drop supplies from GH-1's, their speed and stealth is beyond USSA capability's to counter in such a short time, we could have a hundred packages in there before the USSA even knew we had launched the planes."
The minister responded, "Wonderful, however try not to be caught, i would be embarrassed if they even knew about it. Drop everything from food to weapons, insure they are provided with crude oil."
One of the men said, "The USSA will never find out sir, we will drop from as high as possible, the packages will be unmarked"
The minister responded, "Good, you have a go ahead."
Calgary Airfield
Thirteen GH-1 stealth capable jets lined up on the runway, in under an hour they would be above USSA territory, avoiding detection and dropping supply's from an altitude USSA jets would not reach in time. Hopefully they would not be detected.

My DeviantArt, so sexy
