Walking up to the skirl Alena says, "continue that way until we reach an opening in the land. We will have to sail through on the river for a bit." Alena watches the crew work and smiles seeing the efficiency that is normally on a wolfship. "This is the newer design isn't it," she asks looking at the sail rigging. "I've only seen this one other time recently on oberjarl Eraks wolfship. Said that a half Araluen, half skandian designed it. He had a long conversation with Halt about where the knowledge from the boy came from."
((Dang, that's gotta be fun commanding the entire Heron crew... Sad I didn't think of it first... Oh well! :D))
Zeross sit's quietly observing this young lad with so much ingenuity. Well, I never would have guessed if i hadn't found out myself. People do surprise. Often. Anyway it doesn't matter that he is about the same age as me, he appears capable. I think I like this fellow. He sat watching as the crew went about the business of moving through the water.
I smirk. "I take pride in my designs. I am the boy who designed the sail and this ship. And yes it is the newer design." I say while I command the tiller. I sail through the opening in the land and on the river for a bit. "So whats your story Alena?" I ask.
My ears perk up at this, we'll as much as a persons ears can perk... ((I've decided to just start doing my posts in third person like everybody else...)) I always like having information about, well, everybody.

"Nothing that you lot need to hear," I say quietly like I've heard halt do that sounds dangerous. "Come on, the king needs us and congratulations on your design it was brilliant. How has erak been, faring well after being in Toscano?"
"Madam, that was just a bit rude!" I say((this can be after Hal responds if it matters)) "Anyway, so what is the whole story of this conflict that's going on? If it's not to secretive to reveal to a foreigner like me."
I shrug. "I don't talk to the Oberjarl much. I'm usually busy leading expeditions and such. Speaking of which." I turn around and yell. "Thorn, Come up here for a minute!" Thorn lumbers up from below and asks , "What you need?" I smirk "Can you bring up the package the Oberjarl gave us to give to Duncan?" "Sure thing." He responds. He walks down and grabs it before handing it to me. I continue to steer the ship while grabbing the package with my other hand.

I stare at the gallican. "I'll ignore that comment," I say turning back to Hal and the one he called thorn. "You brought a present to king Duncan from erak? That's nice of erak, nice to meet you thorn." I say reaching my left hand out.
He looks at your hand and does not take it. He turns abruptly and goes back down. The package is about as long as a sword and as wide as me. I hold it and steer. "Also, even if I did talk to the Oberjarl on a regular basis, which I actually do, I do not share his business with those I do not fully trust." I say coldly to her. When everything is set and the wind is blowing correctly I set the tiller straight and let it sit. "Alright everyone you can relax we are in the clear." I said. Everyone got down from their posts and hung around the boat. Lydia came up to me and gave me a peck on the cheek. I grinned and hung out with Stig talking. "Should we trust them?" He asked. I responded, "The Gallican yes. Alena, no. Don't reveal anything to her at all. Spread the word. If she doesn't want to reveal anything, then neither will we."
((Does anybody even notice or care about the long wrapped bundle on Zeross's back?))
I decide that there's nothing wrong with this ship and crew and set to inspecting my equipment. I begin by unwrapping my long sword and making sure it is still razor sharp and the trip had done nothing to harm it. After that I wrap it back up and start on my daggers on my belt. I leave my hidden blades be, I like having a secret or two up my sleeve, so to speak.((hehehe, puns))
((I didn't know you had that.))
I cast a glance over at the Gallican. I see a bundle on his back. I walk towards him and whisper, "Hey whats that bundle on your back? I don't mean to pry But I am just curios. I also don't want Alena to know." I say in a low voice.
I grin. "Oh it's just a little something I modified to my own liking. It's a Nihon-ja long sword that I altered a bit to my liking. It's an efficient weapon." I respond in an equally low voice.
I whistle appreciatively. "I heard those are extremely hard tempered. And that you can only get them in Nihon-ja. I presume you got it there? " I ask cautiously.
I smirk. "Ah. I understand. I believe that you 'acquired' this sword legitimately through a fair duel" I say a little sarcastically. I nod. "It a good sword"
I nod "yeah a fair duel. It is most definitely a good sword, it has served me well. Anyway, may I ask why you don't want this girl, Alena? Was it? Knowing."

I smile watching the two guys talk, neither trust me and I don't blame them. Rangers are like that, seemingly untrustworthy. If only Hal knew about me knowing erak, I think. Walking to the railing I watch the trees and shore. I smile and then Remember the broken felt bling on one of my arrows I felt earlier that day. Taking it out I set to work on repairing it. Watching the exchange between the Gallic and the skandians while working as well as the other crew members. I wonder if I should trust them and realize that if I don't araluen could loose a great deal of fighting power.
I glance over at her. "She seems like an honest girl. But she seems too untrustworthy. She asks questions but she doesn't answer any questions." I say. I then glance over at her and walk away. I sit on the edge of the boat. I look out over the water. Lydia walks over and sits next to me.
I say to myself "we'll I'm just glad I haven't had to answer an questions yet. That's gonna be awkward." I walk over to the side of the ship and look out at the water enjoying the scenery. Much prettier than Gallica.
