There are a series of reasons as to why this is no longer a "friendly thread". 1. Host is not active enough to contain and control. 2. Overflow of unnecessary apps. (75,000 planes!) 3. The host claimed Antarctica and turned it into a massive nation. 4. lolio believed he was accepted even though he wasn't. 5. Poland became a superpower (lolwat?) 6. No one understands population. 7. People don't have issues claiming half of Europe, but rage when someone claims Japan and Korea. 8. This roleplay takes place in 2020, 2025, 2040, and 2250 all at the same time. 9. Keyguy thought this thread was dead even though it was getting apps submitted 24/7. 10. The penguins are stuck with Keyguy.
This is perfectly friendly. You're interpreting assistance as flaming despite it not being the case. You need to grow up and open your eyes. You're not perfect: we're fixing that.
"I made some edits to my earlier posts (I hope you're all happy)" this is now a flame war
I think the main problem in this is that I made it as a cross-level roleplay. There's a reason that everyone hates everyone and wants everyone dead here: it's because nobody is roleplaying "correctly" according to basically everyone. Hardcores hate on Intermediates, and Intermediates hate on Hardcores.
Then there's the fact that most of the Intermediates just got out of a roleplay that was practically stat-based, and the largest superpower had the ability to destroy thousands of solar systems simultaneously, and some of them just got out of a roleplay where people flew solar systems around and creating a universe didn't even make the newspaper.
Oh yeah, Jello, go to a religion thread on PPNS and say that Christianity is the undisputable truth of the universe and that all non-Christians are stupid. What will result is what a flame war really is.

The definition of flame war is "an argument between Internet users who repeatedly provoke each other with personal attacks through e-mail and other forms of online communication."
I fail to see how this is a flame war. Anyone care to enlighten me?
So, because we're trying to fix a broken roleplay, it's "not friendly?" That's like going to help a village that has suffered from a disaster and the residents all tell you "We're angry at you because reformation isn't happy and flowers and rainbows!" Good god.
If you don't like it when people try to help you, then just leave. There's no need to say "This isn't a vary nice thread anymore", just leave. that's what I do when I encounter an actual flame war.
Then I come back and watch the two sides stay stuck in a stalemate, and I eat popcorn and laugh at their stupidity.

Well as long as he uses spellcheck and roleplays at an at least intermediate level, he can have it.

On roleplaying at an intermediate level: I'd advise just nuking stats period and just going the PoW route of having just the name and history and whatnot.
I've always viewed the levels of roleplaying as the following:
Casual- a calm, informal roleplay(er). Posts are between 2-20 sentences and not much of an effort is put into those sentences. This type of roleplaying is for newcomers and recreational purposes.
Intermediate- The next step up from casual, intermediate roleplaying is for those who have evolved beyond the casual level. Sentences are usually 15-50 sentences and are put together with care and purpose. Intermediate roleplay(er)s make up a majority of the roleplaying community.
Hardcore- For the future/present writers and experienced roleplayers, hardcore roleplayers are often looked up to as role models. Posts for hardcore roleplayers vary from 20-100+ sentences, with an excellent vocabulary and a stunning story behind their amazing posts.
Personally, I can't even call myself hardcore.
Removing the stats makes little sense to me. "very few" is relative. How few is "very few"? 100? 10,000? If this is an intermediate/hardcore, at least have some common sense, PLEASE.
reasons for it not being friendly
"I made some edits to my earlier posts (I hope you're all happy)" apparently not
