We accept the trade route proposal with the EA and we send some ships, laden with ores, on their way.
The Korpulan diplomats have arrived in Carinian space. We escort them to our capital planet.

In the beginning the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

The N7 Transport Ships have completed, and now we are sending a few ships to the center of the Milky Way using our own Mass Relay. Because of the fact that the Mass Relay can fling us far, it will only take 1 month to travel there.
Colonization
The colonization of a nearby sector is complete!

The UCA has sent ships south and west of the home sector.

The Kuv'Nos have begun expanding to the sector immediately to the right of theirs. 20% has been claimed.
EA First Contact
"Are those... Humans? Surprising, but perhaps we can change our fate this time around." "Yes, yes, but we cannot tell them of the other worlds! The repercussions could be immense." "Fine, fine. Vor'Chek, open a channel! Hail the EA ship!" the Admiral said, the Kuv'nos officer responding by sending a communications request to the EA ship. The Kuv'nos remained cloaked, and hidden from the EA.

Homeworld: Mhysi
Name of government: Mhysi Republic
Species:
-Bai'mata
The Bai'mata have a reptilian skin, which insulates as well as giving some degree of protection. This tough skin helped them survive the ice age which gripped Mhysi 200,000 years ago. They are a bipedal spicies. Their also body consists of two arms with fingered hands. Each hand has 7 fingers and are able to delicately handle the tiniest of materials. They have a strong build, standing 2 and a half meters tall on average. Their strong shoulders allow them to carry strong payloads. Their head is somewhat bony, with a small crest at the back of their heads. Their 'eyes' are actually made of thousands of tiny eyes acting as 4 individual units, 2 on each side of their heads. They do not have a nose. Instead, they have tiny pores throughout their bodies which allows them to absorb oxygen, which they breath. This allows for efficient body movements and lightning fast physical attacks. Despite their ferocious appearance, the Bai'Mata show strong loyalty and respect for their own species.
In addition, they are the only surviving species of their family, although other extinct species show similarities.
Description of government:
The Mhsyi Republic is a democracy, in which all citizens on all colonized worlds are given a vote. The Mhysi government is governed by the 'Huo Dak', the supreme leader, who not only controls the entire republic, but is also the president of the planet Mhysi itself. The Huo Dak also controls governors (which lead each colonized system) and fleet Admirals. The governors appoint a personal cabinet, and usually all matters are decided by a referendum, allowing for a free and fair process in state affairs. Governors of each system also have power over the president of each individual planet.
History:
The Mhysi home system is 4 billion years old, with 10 planets revolving the sun. Of those, 4 planets are within the habitable zone:
Mhysi, Ghure, Asfan and Udale.
Mhysi was gripped by a powerful ice age 110,000 years ago, forcing the ancient Bai'Mata to survive near the equator, with their thick skins keeping them insulated. The ice age ended sometime around 80,000 years ago.
Key ancient events:
-Industralization: 2000 BC
-Formation of the Mhysi Republic: 1000 BC
-Space travel: 500 BC
-Colonization of Asfan and Udale: 100 AD
The Bai'Mata used to have a powerful enemy sometime around 1000AD. Back then, the Bai'Mata had just started colonizing space, and discovered that another somewhat advanced species on Ghure: the Butuii. A long war was fought between the two species. After 200 years of continued fighting, the Butuii were driven to extinction by the Bai'Mata, who were stronger than before with an impressive military.
Key modern events:
-Extensive development on home planets and space travel: 1400 AD
-FTL drive invention: 1700 AD
-Communication in slipspace/accurate slipspace jumps: 1850 AD
-Start of the modernization of the Bai'Mata military: 1900 AD
-Colonization and terraformation of all moons/rocky planets in the Mhysi system: 2100 AD
-Slipspace drive capable of 400 light years: 2300 AD
Complete colonization of 5 nearby systems was completed by 2350 AD. The Bai'Mata hasn't had any contact with any other advanced species at the time, but the Mhysi space military has been strengthened just in case hostile contact.
-Project Yider-Bugec allows FTL travel to 550 light years: 2400 AD
As of now, the Mhysi Republic is nearly finished completing the terraformation of 10 new systems within 200 light years of the Mhysi system. With this, the military spending has increased to provide enough ships for the protection of all systems, especially with the detection of faint unknown signals picked up by long range listening devices on small outposts. These new ships will take between 1 to 3 years to build.
Military:
-Total strength: 810 units (200 units being commissioned within the next year)
*Mhysi home fleet: 200 units
*Yiura system fleet: 150 units
*Vhada system fleet: 150 units
*Huc system fleet: 150 units
*Rilku system fleet: 150 units
*Tis special expeditionary fleet: 10 units commissioned for contact with unknown alien races. Stationed at the Tis asteroid belt outpost (400 light years from the Mhysi system). Flagship: MRSC Fodota.
If I am accepted, please put me on the Perseus belt around what would be East on a compass. My colour would be orange.
Sorry, out of stinking posts. Anyway, colonization is allowed, i was just holding it off until we had a map. And now we have one, so colonize away! Also, not just homeworlds. You can capture any territory.
A few suggestions:
Sorry, just a question, but what happens when you want to specify a specific area to colonize? What I'm trying to say is that as empires expand, people might want to colonize an exact location along a specific sector of their territory, but it is rather hard to convey the information for you to follow. Also, can there be an key on the map that allows for people to specify where their home world/major colonies are? I think that would make it more interesting as enemy factions know where to concentrate their forces on, and defending forces know where the best areas to defend are.
Also, perhaps some spots around the map should be put in, showing where especially rich amounts of natural resources may be hidden for extraction. People who control these points are allowed to have expansion bonuses. That would give colonizers goals to expand, and be the reason of conflict to make it seem a bit more realistic.

I knew this problem before you posted it, so to specify the territories being claimed, i used white box outlines.
You can choose to be not too dependent on the home sectors or major sectors and instead have none.
Signal Update
A ship has received a signal from an unknown location. The ship has sent back another signal.
MRSC Fotona receives signal and sends regards and prepares to head for the coordinates that the unknown ship broadcasted from with the rest of the Tis Special Expeditionary fleet. Time estimated at 1 month. However, due to the fact the government has just picked up a signal regarding galactic travel rules, it appears the Mhysi Republic has not yet been approved for expansion and extensive space travel. The crew of the MRSC Fotona and the Tis Expeditionary fleet await eagerly for the permission to go.

That is a good idea, but how about when two territories meet and they're both marked with white outline boxes?
EDIT: what is the real time-RP time relation? Is one day=one month or something else?
Grey boxes will mean overlapping forces. Non-squarish territory borders may result.
Real RP time may be equivalent to a month, if it's an update post.
*One week later* MRSC Fotona resends signals to all sectors for recognition.
The eastern sector is fully claimed!
The southern sector is almost claimed.
