Johanas awoke with a start as the boat hit a particularly hard wave. His mouth tasted of salt and his back was sore from sleeping on the thin wooden bench. Still groggy from sleep, he puzzled over why he was sleeping outside.
"So after dinner, I went to my cabin to read a book. Then I wen-"
He remembered that feeling. The tension building from when he passed his grandfather's test and growing every day as the island grew closer. Sitting back down on the bench he recalled that day.

He enjoys simply watching pokemon and jotting down notes on them in his notebook. Leon is brilliant in battle, and will do almost anything to guarantee his victory.
Backstory: Leon was born in a cabin around the outskirts of Pallet Town. He was raised by his mother, as his father had abandoned them a long time ago. He took interest in the subject of pokemon, and so, seeing this, Professor Oak decided to teach him. In the next few years, he learned about nearly every pokemon ever conceived, almost every ability a pokemon can have, and can rattle most TM's and HM's off the top of his head, essentially becoming a living pokedex. Leon even designed and built his own Magnemite, who he affectionately called Coil. Unfortunately, he has little to no experience in battle, and what he learned was usually useless while battling another pokemon. He soon learned of the "Ultimate League", and decided to partake in it, yearning to prove he wasn't just some geek. So, with Coil at his side, his notebook at the other, he headed off into the big leagues.

Kiara stroked Diane's head as she listened to the announcement. It had taken most of the trip for her to calm her Pokemon down, as Diane had never been so far away from her home before. Kiara wasn't worried about it, she heard some other children on the boat, and if others were going to this league, it must not be that bad. Even if it was, she was certain it wasn't anything Diane and her couldn't handle.
Kiara placed Diane (who had suddenly decided it was nap-time) on her bed, and went to check that she had all of her things. She felt around in her messenger bag. Toothbrush, spare clothes, a small pot for cooking, salt, berries, Pokeballs... Her mind trailed off at the thought of catching other Pokemon. It had taken her 4 tries to even throw the Pokeball at Diane properly, and she hadn't caught any Pokemon since then! Eventually, they'd have to catch some other Pokemon, and doing so would probably make her waste through all of the balls at once... She finished checking her bag, and nudged Diane. "I think it's time to go," she whispered. Diane woke up, and yawned. After a bit of work, Kiara found the door, and walked into the hallway, headed outside.
"Looks like we have some competition, don't you think?" Lily asked to her beloved Treecko, who was lounging on her bed. She didn't know why she thought she had a chance, heck she just barely passed the test to get here. "Man that battle seemed like a dream" she says, before starting to think of ways to make Treecko stronger. "Uggh it's no use, I'll never be able to win with Treecko alone. what am I going to do?" Lily starts to panic, listing possible things that could go wrong when she felt something hit the back of her head. Turning around she sees her Treecko had used bullet seed on her, before jumping to his feet to try and talk some sense into her. "Treecko, Treecko!" Staring at her Treecko, Lily sweat dropped "You know I can't understand anything you say right?" Treecko just huffed before turning around "But I think I know what you mean, I just need to keep a cool head and everything will be fine right?" Lily said, Treecko turning to her before giving a nod of his head. "Okay then let's see what were up against." She said before picking up Treecko and placing him on her shoulder. Treecko always hated being in his Pokeball, he preferred to be free like the wind. Walking out into the hall she saw a girl around her age walking outside. Walking outside herself, she heard a rather smug voice announce that they were arriving in three minutes. Deciding to introduce herself, Lily decided to talk to the girl she saw in the hallway. "Hi there my name's Lily." She asked, sounding as friendly as she could with a friendly smile.

Evan walked into the cabin and next to his bed, and let Oshawott out again. "You can rest here for a while," He said. "Come out when you need to." And with that, Evan headed back out to his spot on the rim of the boat. They were nearing shore. If it's this brutal, Evan thought, I hope they still have Pokémon Centres and Marts... He checked his supplies. Repels, Potions, Pokéballs, money, antidotes, berries... I'll be fine, he thought. After some thought, Evan decided that he would keep to himself and socialize only when he had to, seeing as he wasn't too good with girls. For now, his only friends were Pokémon. He didn't know that he would be on a boat with other people, so he just tried to keep to himself and talk only to his Oshawott.

Kiara turned to Lily, and made a small "click" sound with her mouth instinctively. "Oh, hello," she mumbled. "My name is Kiara, and this," she opened her right arm out to where Diane normally stood, "Is my Deino, Diane." Diane greeted a short, "Deino no." Kiara looked at the Treeko, and clicked again, curious about the Pokemon. "What's that?" she said, nudging her head at it, "I've never seen anything like it in Unova."
Simon looked around and noticed very little people interacting with each other. "Normal people, what they do and why is beyond me." Simon smirked as he sent out Ralts to walk by his side. It was starting to pick up on Simon's behaviour, and smirked at other Pokemon snobbish like as it passed by. As he headed torwards his cabin, he noticed two girls talking to each other. One had a Treeko with them and another had a Deino. "Intresting, at least I know what I'm going up against." Simon thought as he continued to his cabin.
Leon was sitting in his bed, jotting down some notes on Coil's behavioral patterns, making sure he wasn't broken. A broken pokemon in the Ultimate League would end his career quickly. Coil flew through the air, demonstrating his abilities. Hearing the captain, he sighed and closed his notebook. He placed it back into his bag along with 5 pokeballs, some potions, and some revives. He checked his Xtranceiver, which displayed their current location. They were getting close. He grinned in excitement. "We're going to win this together, Coil." He said, slinging his bag over his shoulder. Straightening his tie, he walked outside of his cabin. Nearby were two girls and a young, snobbish looking boy. He awkwardly shuffled to the side and tried to get past the boy, not really wanting to interact with him. Coil eyed the Ralts with curiosity, his processors making a low humming noise.
I looked at where the voice was coming from, and I decided to walk over there. There I saw a person with a Ralts at his side, along with two people with a Deino and a Treecko. "Not bad. Hydreigon's a powerful pokemon, and that Deino will likely become one. Sceptile's also not a bad pokemon. It's fast, powerful, and somewhat resistant. They've got potential," I thought while passing by. I looked at Anorith, and smiled. It climbed up on top of my head and started playing with my hair.

Why do I feel something off about this girl. "Huh, oh yeah this is my partner Treecko." Lily said, patting Treecko with her hand which earned an annoyed look from Treecko. "You probably never seen one considering that they're from Hoenn." She says before taking in her surroundings. Looks like the snobbish guy has a ralts who's just as snobbish, a boy in a suit with a magnemite, and a- hey that guy's kinda cute. Lily could feel her cheeks heat up as she stared at the Cute boy with his Anorith. Pull yourself together Lily, you need to focus. Shaking her head to try and clear her mind she accidentally caused her Treecko to lose it's balance and fall right Kira's Deino.

Oshawott came out of the cabin in front of Evan. He gave it a pat, and stood up. The boat would land soon. While not in a call, the Xtransciever displayed a map of Unova, or a black screen when left idle. Maybe it would have been better to bring a Pokégear. No, they're from Johto. It'd take a while to get one. Evan sighed and went to the bridge of the boat, observing his surroundings. Oshawott climbed up to his shoulder and on his head, like the other boy's Anorith. It then got sleepy again, annoying Evan.
As Simon entered his cabin, he jumped onto the King-sized bed, too big for either Simon or Ralts. Ralts barely got on top of the bed, as it was like a mountain to it. When it did, and landed face first on the soft matress. Suddenly, a ringing noise echoed. Simon pulled out his Xtransiver from his pocket and picked it up. "Hello?" Simon asked as the Ralts came to his side. "Hey there, Simon!" A fatherly voice replied, full of joy. "Dad! How have you been since last year?" Simon asked as the two continued to chat for what felt like years. Suddenly, the boat halted to a stop. "Gotta go, we're here." Simon said as he hung up the Xtrans and ran out of the cabin, and torwards the deck. Ralts barely got enough time to grab his shoulder and hang for the ride.
As he came on deck, he saw before him, Ultimate Island. The captian came on deck and ordered everyone to get their belongings from their cabins and come back here. Luckily, Simon was set. He had everything he needed with him, in his pockets. He picked up Ralts and decided to wait for others.
Kiara had never heard of a Treecko before, but guessed it must have been a grass type, with the word "tree" in it's name. She laughed to herself at never seeing one before- that was for sure! Kiara wondered why Lily had stopped talking, and clicked once to make sure she hadn't left.
Treecko's fall caused Diane to topple over, and took Kiara down with her. "Aah!" she yelled, being taken off guard by the incident. Frantically, Kiara began clicking with her tongue, and quickly got back up, helping sort out Diane in the process. "What was that?" Kiara mumbled to herself.
I chuckled at what happened between those two girls, and it appeared my Anorith got a kick out of it as well. *RING RING... RING RING...* I answered my X-Transceiver, and saw my 15-year-old sister on the other end. "Hey Naomi. What's up?" I asked.
"Hey, brother! I just wanted to see how you were doing. Are you already on the boat?" she asked.
"Yeah, I am. And it looks like we're going to be pulling into the dock soon, so I don't have much time. How are you?" Her face almost appeared to droop. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked her.
"Well, my poor Lairon is sick and I had to take him to the pokemon center. I don't know what happened, but when I sent it out this morning, he looked weak," She said.
"I'm sorry, sis. Send Lairon my best wishes, and I hope he gets well soon." I then heard a foghorn blow. "Sorry I couldn't talk longer, but I have to leave now," I said.
"Okay. Bye Ronin!" she said, hanging up.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry about that!" Lily exclaims, bowing in apology before picking up her Treecko and muttering a small apology to him. Why did that girl keep clicking her tongue when she was knocked over? She's about to apologize even further when she feels the boat stop and the captain telling everyone to get their stuff. "Oh gotta go, once again I'm so sorry about that." she says before running to her cabin to grab her stuff. Grabbing her bag she does a quick check of her inventory. "2 Oran Berries, a few potions, 3 revives, my locket, and my brothers Pokegear that he gave me for my birthday, okay that's everything." she says putting her locket around her neck before sprinting out back onto the deck, almost slipping on a puddle by the railing, just managing to catch herself on the railing. "Stupid puddle" she mutters before noticing the absence of a certain laid-back pokemon. Looking around she saw that her Treecko was already waiting for her off of the boat. Sighing Lily jogged off of the boat, not waiting for everyone else.

Ralts looks at the girl as she passes by with her Treeko. It releases a tiny giggle, then starts walking off the boat. Simon decides to follow, as he was getting tired of waiting. He then saw some kind of large, iron fence surrounding the trees, preventing anyone...or anything from getting past them. Simon looked up at the large Ultimate League building. He knew most of the interior, as his father had told him about his many experinces there. On the large, steel building, was a logo. It looked like a large, orange Pokeball, but with an unblinking eye in the middle. He could of sworn that it blinked at him, but he decided to forget about it.
I checked my pack to see if I packed everything. "Pokeballs, potions, pokedex, map, X-Transceiver, traveling money, and berries. Perfect," I said, putting my backpack back on. I walked over to where we were getting off. I saw a Treecko over there, the same one that girl back there had. I chuckled, but it seemed my Anorith didn't like it too much. "What's wrong?" I asked it, getting a few points at the treecko from it as a response. "What is wrong with that treecko? Just relax," I said to it. It still looked pretty angry, but I ignored it and let it calm down.

Kiara listened to Lily's apology, and then continued heading outside, having already packed up all of her things. She decided to just leave the boat, instead of going to the deck, it would probably just be some boring speech about safety or something, anyways. After a bit of remembering where the exit was, Kiara got off. She heard some footsteps coming from in front of her, other people exiting the boat, and decided to follow the others.
As others got off the boat, a loud, heavy voice beckoned from some speakers out of sight. "Greetings, everyone." It welcomed. "You've all come here because you believe you are the toughest of the toughest, strongest of the strongest, best of the best." It announces, Ralts attention torwards the logo on the building. "However, this isn't your everyday Pokemon battle. Things get dirty around here at the Ultimate League." The voice warns, reminding Simon of the battle he had just to get here. "However, if you think you've got what it takes, then take the Ultimate Challenge!" The voice bellows as a large set of double doors slowly open, revealing an elevator inside. Simon heads inside, as Ralts stares in amazement at the paintings of battling Pokemon on the walls.
