The world had been at war with itself for fifty long years of pain and suffering. Much of the cities are ruin and have been overgrown by a new verdancy. Nature has taken hold over its former roaming grounds once again. There are less then 100,000 confirmed living in the wreckage of America. Some people believe that this is a new start, a way to make the world a better place from the chaos which had been caused by our curroption. Yet there is a darkness lurking in the destroyed ruins of the world and particularly in New York City ruins. People go missing from the small towns which have appeared in the old abandonded subway of New York. This is the story of the AfterYears and you are a Children of a Broken World.
In this roleplay you will go through several years after WW 3 which has devestated the whole world. You and the other roleplayers will survive in the ruins of New York City and find all the changes in what use to be a hectic city. Yet you also have to try and survive for there is a dark danger which has been killing people who survived and you could be chosen. Every night you will need to find a place to bunker down in.
Rules:
1. Inset generic rules and forum rules here.
2. This is after a war which destroyed much of the world. Food will be scarce and there is very little clean water so cathcing diseases is possible.
3. You aren't going to find a freaking tank in the middle of times square, it just isn't plauseable.
4. Put I accept in the () of the other section.
5. No generic characters, yours has to be original.
6. There are guns but very little ammo. Much of it was taken by the government to use in the war.
7. Have fun and please post more than two sentences.
Places:
Vines Square- Over grown times square which has grown a few trees, some grass, and even vines. There is now a small pond which grows in the center of Vines Square which now has a small town of about 50 people living around it. The old abandoned buildings now have a varity of animals living in them and could be dangerous due to the weakening of its support structures.
Grand Trade Station- The main trade station which houses mostly merchants from the five main stations. There are over a hundred merchants who sell their wares to anybody who pass through. Five hundred people live inside the station. It was formally Grand Central station and now it's golden shine is dull with disuse.
The Zoo- The former central park which is now over run with the former residents of the New York City zoo. It is a dangerous place during both night and day. Yet there is a great evil lurking in the central areas of the park which scares even the feral lions whom roam the land. It comes out once a night and is never seen nor heard until you are close to death at its hands.
Sewervile- The only raider town which exists in the sewers. Its population numbers up to a thousand and they are all mostly criminals. This is where most if not ever black market trade, street fights, and the arena fights take place. Few people ever survive the arena fights and even fewer make a living in black market trade.
The Scrapyard- The manhatten bridge as it was once known now filled with old rusted cars. It is favored hiding place for criminals due to its large damage. Some raiders live up in the cars which are gathered close to a hole in the bridge.
Stepway Hills - A formerly rich area which overlooked New York. It was famous for attracting tourists due to it's amazing view. Now, it's only a wasteland with the occasional devasted house. It's the feet of the Stepway Mountains.
Stepway Mountains - A passage located right after Stepway Hills. It's very tall, and it is the only way out of the city after the war. However, it has many dangers, such as rockslides that can borrow you underground, packs of ferocious wolves that want to have you for dinner, and the occasional thief awaiting their prey at destroyed houses. Many have entered this place...all have died trying to pass through it or gave up and went back.
Elm Territory - Located in the northeast of the island, it homes the Elm Port and is probably the most dangerous surface region of New York. It is guarded by members of the Elm Gang, who pretty much rules the entire black market and all illegal activities in all regions.
Elm Port - It is a clandestine port, the only way in and out the island. The elm gang has plenty of vessels who watches and sinks any unauthorized boats. As dollars are out of sight inside the island, the price to get a passage inside the boats varies from a rocket launcher to a functional car.
Other places will be added as you find places, you can name them what you want but these are five main places which will be centers of the story.

Biography:
Ann used to live in bunkers of Stepway Hills, her family was obliged to live in the region as they were stranded and there would be no type of contact with the world outside the island. Since the world was in ruins, she was quite small when the first lessons of survival were taught to her. Hesitating nothing into accomplishing her missions, the neighborhood she lived was attacked by a bunch of raiders and her entire family was obliged to move in the military family located somewhere in the Vines Square. Unbeknownst the dangers that region kept, she got lost from her family in the age of fifteen.
She were dropped somewhere located to the northeast of the island of Manhattan, near a clandestine port which was used by fugitives from Alcatraz to make it to the region. This site was dominated by a gang of grandchildren of convicts fugitives who before being arrested, commanded various cartels in the city. Ann was kidnapped and dropped in a basement for a few days with several other girls. She found that all were just prostitutes of the gang members and got desperated. When a man, unaware, entered the room to take the girls, she managed to pick a cracked tile from the ground and kill him. Ann stole his pistol and escaped by a narrow tunnel, connecting the complex to the outside. Ran for miles until she reached a bridge, also known as a housing much more precarious than anywhere else.
Owner of a gun, something rare in New York, most were frightened by her. Ann assaulted several people and stole their most prized possessions, such as gas mask, an Arab military outfit, a canteen and a camp bed. After a few years, she managed to rob a man of whom kept with him a hand grenade and a single rocket missile. Two valuable items that undoubtedly were worth way more than the lives they could take away. She went to Sewervile sell those and realized that negotions down there were not easy as thought. Ann was able to buy three magazines of ammunition for her handgun, six bottles with pure mineral water and a backpack in exchange of the grenade and rocket missile, a survival knife she found on the streets laying around and a bean bag. She returned to the scrapyard, where she organized her belongings into her backpack and ewent to Vines Square.

Quest Log:
There are three kinds of quest types: main quests, optional quests, and continous quests. Main quest continue through the story and help you advance your characters through this world. Once you complete a Main quest you get a payment equal to the difficulty. Optional quests can help increase or decrease your disposition which will determine what other optional or continous quest you can get. Same rule of payment as Main quests apply to optional quests. Continous quests are different from both main and optional quests. You can't finish them and will always be active unless you decide to de-activate the quest. Their payment is based on how hard it is to obtain items and the rarity of said items.

Accepted, but I am going to ask you to use your very best grammar skills for this rp. We will start once we get one more person. To answer anybody who has questions about what you have to do, just explore the ruins of New York City and make sure you prepare yourself a place for night.
If there is anyone to help me with the subway map I would be very grateful. I have trouble getting my modified one into a format which I can put on the forum.

Accepted, the roleplay will start once I post the opening for each of your individual areas. The time in destroyed New York City is 7::30 am. Openings coming soon!
The stalls are just now opening in side the lusterless trade station after the merchants had rested. A man had went missing during the name from his home which was located just five yards from the subway rail which led to station 4. You find that you have been left alone in the inn. Although the inn had nothing important in it you wonder where the woman who ran it went. There was at least fifty .22 rounds she kept in a box under her bed and she would leave that alone for the world. The sun shines into the inn's windows as it comes thorugh the destroyed glass windows of the Grand Trade Station. Find people and see what had happened last night that drew them away from their precious items. Some might even have a odd job for a brave man to do.
Quest Activated: Find where everybody has gone- You need to find out why people aren't where they normally are. Talk to people to find out what is going on.
The Scrapyard:
The raiders were already awake and moving about their camp. It was rather safe inside the camp where they had moved the cars to surround them making it so there was no easy way to approach. You have been taken captive by a scout who had found you sleeping in a car. They have taken everything you own except the clothes on your back, they have even taken your shoes. One of their guards were killed in the middle of the night by mysterious cuts across his torso. They are going to kill you so you need to escape.
Quest Activated: Escape from raider camp- You need to find your stuff in get out of the Raider camp, maybe one of the other three captives can help you some how.
Vines Square: The small town of Vines Square is still quiet even thought it is past the time they normally get up. It is all to unbeliveable that they all are still asleep. You had arrived on the outskirts of the town around night fall and made base in a small building storage room. You notice that no one is awake in Vines Square and find it odd. You need to find out what is going on down there.
Quest Activated: Investigate Vines Square- It is too quiet for a town of five hundred. Something must be going on in Vines Square. Find out what is going on down in the town.
((I am now incorperating a quest system. You can get quest from certain people so long as you do not have a bad disposition. It is the same if you are trying to get a quest from evil people, no good disposition. Do you guys think I should add a sort of skill system?))
John was walking down the grand trade station wondering where he could find a job so get some money for food, then he noticed the shops were closed and he thought wierd usauly all the shops are open by now.....i wonder where they have gone, well i need money so if i save them from whatever there hiding/running/ captured by. Well i gotta live, then john walked over to where the merchants kept their goods and started robbing them, after that he went back into the inn and stole the inkeepers ammo walked around and found a few poeple and started to ask them if they knew where the merchants were.
Rex awoke in a small camp in the scrapyard "dang it" he chuckled to himself as he looked around at his "guards" and then his hands and feet wich were tied together " hay! Mr. Man with the gun!" He yelled at the nearest guard who paid no attention to him.
Firewave: The people look at you and look at each other. "Where have you been all the time boy? A man was found dead near the service tunnel leading straight to station 4. They say that nothing was taken but there was a lot of blood and the body was torn to pieces. If you ask one of the guards nicely they will take you to the tunnel to see it but they won't let you go too close to it. Odd thing about it was that the guards who were only ten yards away didn't hear a thing, at those tunnels echo all the time of falling rocks and metal. Any way off with you." You notice a guard not to far from here who is talking to a merchant about protecting his wears.
Quest update: A citizen has told you that you can ask a guard to take you to the tunnel leading to station 4. Unfotunately, being with the guard means you can't get an up close look at the body. Perhaps you can sneak into the tunnel when night comes. Options- 1. Ask a guard to take you to the tunnel +1 good disposition with guards 2. Sneak into the tunnel after night +1 bad disposition with guards. 3. Learn more from talking with people (neutral)
Items Aquired: +2 cans of beans(+30 health), + 10 .22 rounds(Currency), and +1 bottled water(Hydration + 10)
Rocket:
Although the guard ignored you a young man who is also tied up scoots closer to you. He smells of alcohol, sweat, and rust yet seems to be rather intelligent and sobering up. "I wouldn't yell like that if I were you. The raiders of this region are notorious for their grousem torture of prisioners. We need to get out of here man. They are going to kill us because they aren't sure which of us killed a scout last night. The only chance they will set us free, and this is very slim, is if one of us says we did. I know none of us did it but we need a way out so I have an idea. Are you willing to listen to it unlike this other knuckle head we're stuck with?" the young man says.
Quest update: Another tied up man has a plan which could save your life. It is also possible that the man is currently drunk though. Options- 1. Listen to him. 2. Keep yelling at the guard. 3. Ignore him and see what happens to him.
((Listen guys, I truly need you to use your best grammar here. That means there must be puncuation, capitalization, and sentences that should make sense. Use logic too, you can't just take stuff from a merchant's stall without some one noticing. I will let it pass this time but please don't try it again. If you want an example on grammar just look at posts other people make on the forums and base them of that. ))
It was a new day in a decaying New York City. The sun rose in the distance, by the mountains, and Ann could not wake up in a more good mood than the place around her. She was lying in her camp bed in the storage room, close to Vines Square. And she noticed it was a hotel. But seemingly, it was disabled with the start of the war, because nobody wanted to go to a place that obviously would turn ruins it is today. In fact, the place was comfortable - a spacious and very modern environment, with a flat floor in black matching perfectly with the salmon-colored walls decorated the corners with small ornaments in the form of angels or mermaids. Sure, if that were an option, Ann would choose this hotel. Probably had a modest price, since all the rooms were rented; she had to sleep in the storage room, which had an entrance by the alley. She had to lay down on the table.
Ann stretched and grabbed her gas mask. She spat out a blackened saliva, such as those who have not had good dental hygiene for months. But she had become accustomed to the taste of smoke at every meal she had. Luckily, after searching the bathroom, it still had a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste with very little cream inside. She thanked heaven and brushed her teeth, even without water. Ann did not want to spend mineral water to rinse the foam that formed of fluoride, no, it would not be worthwhile. Spat and swallowed the result in dry, a remnant of cream. She put the toothpaste and toothbrush in her backpack ... it was a precious commodity.
She walked out of the place and looked at the heavens, which were glowing slightly. Her eyelids were heavy because she was sleepy, even after this long night's sleep. Ann did not feel very well, but had to continue - Vines Square was probably the town's friendliest in the entire city. At least I heard that they do not try to rape the others, she thought resentfully. But all was quiet. Too quiet to a village with half a thousand inhabitants, probably one-twentieth the amount of people who were still in town.
Rex looked back over at the guard, he looked pretty tough and not to bright Rex knew he probably couldn't take him on in a fair fight. Rex sat there and thought for a moment, he then smiled and said "What's your plan fellow prisoner" which ended with an insane grin.
"Thank you" i say to the person i was talking to, then when i looked over to the gaurd i think these gaurds are little better than the "crooks" they fight. I put my gun off safety just in case the guard saw me liberate those stalls of materails. John walked over to the guard and asked inturupting the merchant "Can you take me to the tunnels?"
The desolete town seems to have been abandonded almost over night. In fact a quarter of its people have seemed to disappear. "Hey you girl! What are you doing in a town like this? If your looking for someone you might not find them. People have left here because of the fifty deaths in the past five days. No real reason for the deaths because no one found the bodies, just a lot of blood. There is a chance that you will find someone who can tell you where the refugees went further in town." an old man says to you as you pass by. He seemed rather delusional because most of his house was boarded up with planks of wood even thought raiders rarely come this far into the city. If he is correct there probably is someone further in town who can tell you where everyone went.
Quest update: Go further in town to find out where everyone went. Options:1. Go into town 2. Walk out of town and to the rail way tunnel which leads to station 2. 3. Investigate on your own.
Rocket:
"Ah, your not a bone head as you look. That guard there has dozed off every twenty minutes and should be doing it again soon. His superior normally comes by half an hour later to check on him and wakes him up. There is a knife on his belt which we could use to get untied. Only problem is that he goes into a true sleep fifteen minutes after he sits down to sleep which leaves us only fifteen minutes to get the knife, cut ourselves free, and make a run for it. You think your up for doing it?" the crazy partially drunk man says as he motions towards the guard with his head. There is a slight possibility that the guard's superior will come around more often because of the dangerous nature of you 'criminals'.
Quest update: The man's plan seems pretty solid and could get you out of the camp. Only problem is that the guard has a superior that comes around every thirty minutes after he sits down to fall asleep. You have to do it quickly and without any noise or you will be caught. Options: 1. Follow the plan. 2. Follow the plan and only cut yourself free. 3. Follow the plan and kill the guard.
Firewave: (I's are suppose to be capitalized when talking about one's self like "I am going to kill him other wise I am going to die." Guard is guard not gaurd.)
The guard looks at you and spits onto the ground in front of you. You notice that some of it has blood in it and notice signs that the guard had been in a fight. "I will take you to the tunnels in an hour once I am done doing my rounds with this section of merchants. Some haven't paid their money for out protection so I have to collect it. Might take longer then a hour. Go wait by the east tunnel entrance three." the guard says as he turns away from you. He was rather rude and before you leave you notice him push the merchant away. You have fifty minutes to waste.
Quest updated: You have to meet the guard at the east tunnel entrance 3 in fifty minutes. You have time to waste and 10 .22 rounds to spend. Maybe somebody will have something for you to do. No real options here.

Spoiler:
Ann uses her gas mask for almost the entire portion of day, even when she sleeping, as it is quite rare of seeing her without it. Her way of dressing, hairstyle, attitude is all to make her look more intimidating or masculine, thus protecting her from any kind of stalker at the destroyed New York. Alongside her short blonde hair, Ann has dark brown eyes that mostly resembles to black. Possibly not visible, she also wears thin leather musculation gloves to protect her hands from pretty much anything she can touch. In apocalyptic places, the most common thing to happen is see people dying out of unknown diseases, and that's not a risk to run.

Ann is extremely mistrustful with any man and is very harsh upon acquaintances or strangers she meets around. Not a single person have witnessed her actual appearance, so she really cares about her identity. Not being friendly a single time, but always sistematic and cold, if you're allied with her, then you should always be careful with any word you say: astute and alert, anything you speak can and will be used against you in
courtnot brief future.Biography:

Azzepted. We need two more players before it can start. I added a pictures section, the first picture is a picture of an area of destroyed buildings and the second picture is of the destroyed statue of liberty and some damage that had been done by fighting.

Accepted, but I am going to ask you to use your very best grammar skills for this rp. We will start once we get one more person. To answer anybody who has questions about what you have to do, just explore the ruins of New York City and make sure you prepare yourself a place for night.

Woop. Unimportant stuff here.

If you want an example on grammar just look at posts other people make on the forums and base them of that. ))
"God, where is everyone?" She murmured.
Woop. Unimportant stuff here.
